"Amane"
'Who is she?' I started slowly walking towards a girl who was calling my name. She had long black hair and wore a simple white dress with a straw hat.
'I didn't know how I came here but all I want now is to reach her.
"Amane"
She was standing in the middle of a garden of flowers her pale white skin shining more in the sun's rays. But I can't see her face.
'I want to see it.' I extended my hands towards her.
"Amane"
She extended her hand towards me too. My fingers are just going to touch her hand.
*Beep*Beep*Beep*
I suddenly got up from my bed. My alarm is ringing beside my bed.
I start to take long breaths to calm down.
"It was a dream."
*Beep*Beep*Beep*
I turn off my alarm and lie back down in bed.
'What was I dreaming? Who was that girl, and why did I walk toward her?'
*bang*
Something collided with my room's window. I stand up from my bed and see that. As soon as I open the window someone shouts my name.
"AMANE"
In front of me is my childhood friend who was shouting my name from her balcony. Hayasi Mei, who lived next door to me, always took care of me after what happened a few years ago.
"Amane! Are you still sleeping? We will be late for school, hurry up."
She scolds me, and only then do I remember that I overslept. I hurried to my bathroom to get ready.
After a few minutes.
I opened the door and stepped outside. As soon as I did, I saw Mei standing there looking angry. She has short brown hair that reaches her shoulders and large brown eyes. At 5 feet 2 inches tall, she is 5 inches shorter than I, but that doesn't stop her from looking intimidating when she's angry.
'This is the fourth time you've woken up late in a row. Do you want Sensei to scold you?"
"I am sorry. It's just that I had a dream and a strange one." She immediately grew concerned, and her tone dropped.
"Did you have those nightmares again?" It's real I am having nightmares after that incident but this dream is something different.
"No, it's different to those nightmares. I saw someone whom I don't know and I don't know why I tried to get close to her."
"So, you've seen a girl in your dreams. Tell me, is she beautiful than me or not" Mei got angry again and I don't know why.
"N-no I didn't even see her face and I don't even know who she is" She sighs.
"Fine, whatever here take this." She threw an onigiri toward me and I caught it.
" I bet you didn't have breakfast."
"Thank you, you are the best friend someone like me could get" Her cheeks turned red and she looked away.
"I-it's fine, you don't need to say all this. Now, follow me or we'll get late." She started to walk and I followed her quietly.
"So, today the reports are coming want me to come with you."
"Which reports?" She smacked my head.
"Dumbass, you fainted in school the other day while running and we need to take you to the hospital. Didn't the doctor take some tests of you and say to come and get the reports today?"
"Oh yeah I remembered you don't need to hit me for that"
"Oh! What did you say" She raised her fist in the air.
"N-no nothing" She sighs.
"So, want me to come with you?"
"No, I will be fine and you can't skip your club because of me."
"No it's fine and the club is not more important than you," she mumbles.
"Sorry, I couldn't hear the last part. Can you say it once more?" Her face got bright red and she hit me in the gut.
"Ouch, what's this for?" I grabbed my stomach and knelt while groaning in pain.
"You! Idiot Amane. Fine! Go alone and don't call me if you fall unconscious on the way." She rushed off without looking back at me. I ran to catch her but stopped in the middle when I saw something.
"Amane, why are you standing there Come fast" Mei stops talking when she sees what I am looking at and grows concerned.
"Mom, I want to eat steak today." A kid says to her mother and she smiles.
"Ok, I will make it for you"
"Hey! Champs, it's cheating didn't we decide that we are going to eat my favourite meal?" An adult man says to the kid while his hands are folded and tries to look angry.
"No, we will have steak today!" The kid replied. Seeing them two fighting the women laughed.
"Hehe, fine I will make both of your favourite dishes today. So, stop fighting." The kid and the man look at the woman and smile.
"You are the best, dear"
You are the best, Mom"The three off them leave the place while laughing and enjoying each other's company.
"Amane, are you still thinking about that? It's not your fault" I lower my head.
"I know, Mei. I know..." I started to walk towards school while my head was still lower. Mie follows me quietly.
' I wonder if my life would be the same as theirs if I hadn't done that day. If I hadn't done that, my dad wouldn't hate me. If I hadn't done that, my life would be normal like others. If I hadn't done that,.... mom would be alive.
