Chapter 6: The Destined Heir and The Goddess
The brothers Dimitri and Shinro followed Nelphindie and the sisterhood to the Beast Lands. They where suppose to kill the baby Nelphindie would have. To prevent the goddess from resurrecting. To secure the sins victory on Oblivion and the Nightshades kingdom. However, they had a change of heart for the good. They invaded the sisterhoods base to be stopped by Leifeya. Shinro said "I wish to speak to Nelphindie. It's not out of bad intent. We wish to fix the past and make sure the present sets itself correctly."
Leifeya didn't want to let them in, but she did anyways. Nelphindie wanted to attack Shinro but she knew this was different than in The Abyss. She said hesitantly "So you're here to make right or for another battle?" Shinro replied "We wish to rejoin you as generals in your army. We know you received the Abyssal Device. We know you're going to fulfill the Crimson Prophecy. The only thing I really wanted was to be on the winning side. More than likely that would be your side. Unless the sins recruit Hades which is very unlikely."
Nelphindie liked what she heard and said, "I can trust your not here to kill the goddess or take the Abyssal device?" Shinro replied "That was originally our plan but no longer what we want." Dimitri said this to make things clear "We want to rejoin you as Princes of Oblivion. You're going to be the Queen soon enough. With Raphelio by your side no doubt. We are true Nightshades that just lost our way for a little while. We do not ask your forgiveness. We just ask you accept this gift." Dimitri gave over to Nelphindie a summoning stone. For the Chaos Dragon Ragnos out of all things.
Dimitri said "I believe you had a dragon Quinton that died in battle against a sin. We wanted to replace it with the best dragon that The Abyss has to offer. It already is used to combat with demon kin so you should be just fine." Nelphindie said with surprise "You knew about Quinton well that's interesting. Even so thank you for this, I've always loved having a dragon partner." Nelphindie used the summoning stone and smokey black dragon appeared.
Nelphindie gave Shinro and Dimitri something in return. Two summoning stones of Shadow Pegasus are a rare horse that lived in Oblivion. It was meant for royal blood to ride into war. It would soon be time for everyone to return to Oblivion. Where Nelphindie would have the baby goddess. Who would grow to full size within a matter of a few seconds. This would leave Altros vulnerable, however the sins wouldn't know about it. Or so Nelphindie hoped that it would be and that they would be safe.
Once Nelphindie and the rest made it back to Oblivion. Nelphindie went straight to the goddess for she had some questions. The first being would the Abyssal Device even work, or would it overrun Oblivion with demons that would not help Nelphindie. The goddess answered this question with "It will the oracle made it so the wielder of the device would be able to control the demons. Also, there are three other kingdoms that are abandoned. The demons that are left can live there after the war." Nelphindie also asked about the baby which was due the next day. The goddess said "Yes, I will die, and the shield will fall momentarily. The new goddess will have all my memories. So, they will know how to put up the shield again."
Raphelio had some concerns he wanted to make known. He said to Nelphindie "The angels do better in sunlight. Yet Oblivion has very little light and most of the time is in a constant state of dusk. Demons will do good here, not saying the angels won't help. There will be some that will have to be assigned to healing more than combat. Angels heal in lighted areas easier. So, more healers will be necessary in war."
Nelphindie replied to comfort Raphelio "The angels and demons aren't the only ones fighting. We also have the sisterhood to help as officers. Along with a few Nightshades who enlisted under my ranks." Raphelio replied "I know we will win this as long as you live. So, I think you should only fight the sins when they are weak. When the army wears their forces down. The Abyssal Device should be used strategically to turn the tides of war in our favor."
The day had passed and Nelphindie was about to have the goddess. When it was time Raphelio stood by her side in her quarters. Raphelio said "I will fly the baby to the goddess's position where it will grow into the new goddess. It should replace it within a short period of time. If any demons get through me and the sisterhood along with your brothers will defend Altros. Your brothers will prove themselves by fighting the sins army." Nelphindie replied "If they do come through to attack put my brothers in the frontlines. I know they mean well and will defend our city."
The goddess was finally born and Raphelio quickly flew her in place. The old goddess withered away as they said their final prayer. This prayer would boost the morale of Raphelio, the sisterhood and the brothers in case demons or sins got through. Luckily no sins were aware of this. But there were always demons patrolling the borders of the barrier. A demon general and a small army got into the city. Raphelio quickly summoned a few angels and gathered the sisterhood. The two brothers were in the frontlines, being the strongest allies.
The demon general named Vindicali sent half his army into the city along with the other half to the other side of the city to try and flank. Nelphindie was unable to join them for a short time as she was weak after giving birth. Raphelio along with the sisterhood destroyed most of the demons sent into the city. They didn't know more were coming from behind. Raphelio did send a few angels behind and to the sides just in case though.
Vindicali saw he was losing the battle, so he summoned his fire dragon to battle. The sisterhood would have little issues with the dragon. They were dragon slayers as a group and Raphelio could easily take out Vindicali. This would only be the start to the war. Also Greed was making his escape from nether realm to rejoin the other sins. Gluttony was long gone though as he could not regenerate.
The demons that attacked from behind were met be angels. Who held them off till Shinro and Dimitri could come in and help. While the sisterhood took out the fire dragon with magic. Leifeya injured Vindicali and Raphelio finished him off by cutting his head off. This battle was easy, but the war wouldn't be as easy to overcome. The new goddess made a new barrier around Altros. Nelphindie would soon be ready to join them. The war was soon to start, and the sins would not like Nelphindie's new powers. She gained them after giving birth to the goddess. The biggest one that would be useful in this war was teleporting anywhere at any time. To any of the other Planes even to Hades throne itself. This would prove very useful in Oblivion against the sins.
Before the war Nelphindie, Raphelio and her two brothers gathered in the throne room. Where King Demond and Queen Sophiya once resided. Her mother Sophiya joined them in the throne room. Appointed Nelphindie Queen of Oblivion as well as Raphelio King of Oblivion. Along with the brothers Princes of Oblivion. The family was finally reunited and it was time for war.
