~Zayn's POV~
Evric waited until my father had turned and gone back inside the house before pivoting and walking back toward the car.
When he returned and climbed back in beside me, he gave the driver a nod. The car pulled away from the estate, and as the gates closed behind us, I felt a sense of closure I hadn't expected.
"We're going to my family's house this weekend," Evric said, stretching his arm across the back of the seat to pull me closer. "My mother personally requested that you come. She's been asking about you."
I rested my head against his shoulder, comforted by the steady rhythm of his heart. "If she wants me there, then I'll be there. Okay, Daddy," I teased softly, enjoying the way his arm tightened around me in response.
The driver hit a slight bump in the road as we accelerated, and I suddenly winced, a sharp reminder of our video call still throbbed in my lower half.
Evric's brow furrowed in immediate concern. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?"
