"YOU'RE FIRED"
That's the third time in 2 months and what, the one thousandth time in a year.
Lana sighed as she cleared her desk, she expected this outcome when she punched her boss in the face for trying to reach into her skirt,
Thinking about that filthy man's hand in her thighs made her skin crawl as she walked out of the company. She looked up the bright blue sky cursing the heavens for her sour luck
Her phone started vibrating in her pocket, adjusting her box of belongings to one hand she reached in and picked it up "hello Anna"
"You lost it again didn't you?" Anna said on the other line
"Can you believe that man, he tried to touch me" Lana said, walking towards the bus station
A loud sigh reverberated through the phone "you don't know your rent has expired and you'll be kicked out soon right?" Anna replied
There was long pause Lana sighed "I know but I'll be sure to get a job soon I promise"
"It's not about getting a job Lana, it's about keeping it" Anna scolded cutting the phone call
Lana sighed again glancing at her phone, she made Anna angry this time, and she was the only one who really cared about her in this world.
Putting her phone in her pocket she waited at the bus station for a bus, not long after a bus arrived and she walked in.
Her situation was dire, she was about to be homeless cause her rent expired a month ago and she hadn't made enough to pay the rent, she had no one to turn to except Anna but Anna was also an orphan like her so there was not much she could do to help.
Once she got home she had to start looking for another job immediately, the bus soon stopped and she got down still lost in thought
Walking into her apartment she fumbled with the key and finally got in, walking straight to her couch and falling on it
"Urrrrgghhh I'm so exhausted" her tummy growled, looking down on her stomach "and hungry too"
She thought of what to eat but her house was totally empty and she didn't have enough to go grocery shopping
"I'll just sleep, I'll get noodles from the supermarket later" saying that she passed out on the couch
Few hours later
Lana is woken up by her phone ringing, sitting up groggily she wiped her eyes "hello" she whispered into the phone
"Are you sleeping, when you're supposed to be hunting for another job?" Anna scolded
"Oh come on i need to rest"
"Says the person who won't have a place to sleep soon"
"Get off your lazy ass, I found a place that's hiring, meet me in the coffee shop tomorrow and we'll talk about it" Anna said
"Okay" Lana replied, cutting the call
Yawning Lana gets up from the couch, her apartment was a mess, her box was scattered on the floor kicking the box aside she walked into her room
She lived in a one bedroom apartment, the place was small but decent for her.
Walking out of her room she left her apartment, to go buy dinner.
Walking out of her apartment, it was already dark outside, she didn't care all she could think of was food, walking to the supermarket nearby she bought some ramen noodles and other stuff she could use for breakfast.
Walking out she silently walked towards her apartment, she hadn't noticed nobody was in the vicinity and she was the only one on the street, finally noticing she looked around
"Was there like a compulsory shutdown or what?" She murmured to herself, shrugging she kept walking
She finally reached her apartment, about to unlock the door, something shiny caught her eyes it was on the floor, picking it up it was a sapphire necklace
She gazed at the jewel marveled "who would loose something this valuable?" Looking around she didn't see anyone "I guess I'll hold it till tomorrow and give it to the lost and found"
Thinking for a bit, it looked valuable and she found it, maybe the universe was giving her a little fortune "or I could sell it" she muttered unlocking her door and walking into her apartment.
Two shadows spotted her from the dark.
