Standing at the entrance to Backstreet 25, Roland was talking with his close friend, Olivier. At Olivier's request, he, a retired former Fixer, had to come out of retirement to help his good friend with a mission.
The tall Black man in a Hana Association uniform standing before Roland was Olivier, his partner from their days at Charles's Office. Both were among the twelve Fixers of that legendary office.
Back then, Roland was a somewhat reckless young man, and Olivier's caution complemented his drive perfectly. Through one commission after another, the two became close, eventually becoming friends who would die for each other.
To help his big friend out, Roland had even brought Angelica's gloves this time. He wondered if his preparations would be of any use.
"Phew..." Seeing Roland, Olivier let out a sigh of relief. He looked at his long-unseen old friend and couldn't help but say, "Thanks a lot. It was just a short message, but you came without a second thought."
Since the twelve Fixers of Charles's Office had gone their separate ways, this was the first time Roland had seen his old friend in person. Olivier nodded and began to explain. "We received a commission stating that L Corp's branch in Backstreet 25 suddenly collapsed, and an unknown number of strange monsters have escaped. They've already caused a lot of destruction in the Backstreet."
"Multiple monsters... so it's just a shortage of manpower?"

Their plan was executed quite successfully. The two teams quickly found some of the escaped monsters in Backstreet 25—the Abnormalities managed by the Lobotomy Corporation branch.
Although most Abnormalities should have been contained within the branch facility by pre-set measures when it collapsed, a small number always managed to escape back to the surface for various reasons.
For example, in the official comic WonderLab, the Abnormalities in that Lobotomy Corporation branch escaped the facility together and entered the Ruins of the City under the special ability of the Distortion, Catt.
But these details weren't important to Roland and Olivier. Under their leadership, four Abnormalities had already been beaten back into their egg-like forms. The distance between their two teams had shrunk to just three streets.
This was normal, as the Abnormalities they encountered were all low-level, no higher than TETH-class.
These Abnormalities, wandering the Backstreet alleys or standing idly in dark corners, weren't even very dangerous. They had simply walked out through a passage created by two WAW-class Abnormalities.
And those two Abnormalities, currently fighting each other in front of Roland and Olivier's teams, were the real monsters causing harm to Backstreet 25.
But these two Abnormalities were no match for combat experts like them, whose skills were on par with Color Fixers. With the help of the other Association Fixers, it didn't take long to beat them back into their eggs, ready for containment.
"Thanks. Now we just need to toss these monsters back into the L Corp branch and seal it up for good."
Olivier took a batch of sodas from a machine on the street and distributed them to his colleagues, tossing a can of strawberry-flavored soda to Roland.
"Mmm, piece of cake," Roland opened the can, letting some of the fizz from the toss spill onto the empty ground beside him, then casually took a sip.
