Synopsis
“Everything I’ve done was for them… and now, no one can stop me. No one, except, perhaps… her". For centuries, civilizations have been built upon stories. Some sacred, others forbidden. But every story is a form of power. And every truth, a form of rebellion. This Book 1 speaks of guilt, faith, crushing responsibilities, and the first tremor of a love that does not yet understand the magnitude of what it will one day destroy. It is not rebellion yet; it is the dawn before the tragedy. I am not trying to retell Dragon Age: Inquisition. The explosion of the Conclave is only the starting point that allows me to narrate another story... the intimate origin of a relationship that will change the world. When I began writing this story during the pandemic, I too believed the tale Solas had sold us. But I came to understand it was only one version within a greater fiction. He was, after all, remembered as the god of Lies, Treachery and Rebellion, depending upon the story. This book is the origin of the woman behind the myth, and of love before the fall. It is an elven tragedy, and all I want is to bare the wound. "I'm begging for you to take my hand, wreck my plans...That's my man..." All recognizable characters, settings, names, and lore belong to EA and BioWare. This is a fan work based on the Dragon Age universe. Original characters may appear, but the story remains grounded in the world created by BioWare. I am not affiliated with the copyright holders in any way. No copyright infringement is intended. It took me a long time to find the right tone and turn for this story. This is the third time I write about them, and the first time it truly feels like the story moves forward. Solas is a character who touched something deeply personal in me, a thread of rebellion that runs through my own life. I always felt I owed him a fic. Though perhaps… I owed it to myself. Writing this was beautiful. A personal journey, through and through. This is my little gift to the community, but also, to the apostate I became. “The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” Inspirations: All the Dragon Age novels, codex, and games. Chapter 1 - Spoiler warning: contains full Dragon Age lore!

Spoiler warning: contains full Dragon Age lore!

The series of books that will make up The Last Rebellion tells the story of how gods are constructed… and how people begin to doubt them.

I'm not trying to retell DAI. The explosion at the Conclave is the excuse to delve into the dark soul of Solas...

My goal is to revive some of the darkness the Dragon Age world showed us in its early days, and to close out the post-Veilguard lore.

This book is dark fantasy. It's not a classic hopeful story; it's a restrained romance charged with ethical tension.

Book 1 is about power, narrative, identity… and about two beings who begin to choose each other when they still don't know how to do it without destroying the world..

When I began writing this story during the pandemic, I too believed the tale Solas had sold us. But I came to understand it was only one version within a greater fiction. He was, after all, remembered as the god of Lies, Treachery and Rebellion, depending upon the story.

"I'm begging for you to take my hand, wreck my plans...That's my man..."

Hi everyone!! I guess this story was born in my head a long time ago (back in DAI), but it has matured over time. I finally started giving it this shape after DAV to close the enigmas that were left lingering in my mind. My idea is a journey leading up to post-Veilguard, passing through some Joplin concepts (at least that's the plan jaja fingers crossed!) all the way to the closing of Thedas' cosmology.

This first book is a deep dive into Solas's mind; it's dark, dense in content and emotions, but it lightens up later on. Any recommendations are welcome! And if there are any fans out there who love debate, know that I do too! 😏

One more thing! I am latina, not a native English speaker. To bring this story to you, I use a mix of Google Translate and AI. While I can speak and read English, I don't yet have the skill to write an entire book in it from scratch. That being said, I personally review every chapter to ensure the translation captures the true intent of the story and follows the official Dragon Age vocabulary. It's quite a challenge because I'm so used to the Spanish translations of the games, but I do extensive research to make sure the English terms are correct!

So, if using AI for translation is a dealbreaker for you, this might be the time to stop reading. However, I want to remind you that the original Spanish version is also available right here on this page! Thanks for sticking with me despite the language barrier!

And one last thing, but very important: the story explores uncomfortable political mindsets through the POV of a morally compromised character. It is not an endorsement of real-world ideologies.
