Synopsis
"Survival of the Fittest." For the last hundred years, that’s been the harsh reality every Sylmorian has lived by. In a world where life itself depends on Aether, Sylmora is the only country running out of it. With supplies growing scarcer by the day, people have started turning on each other—fighting, even killing—just to survive a little longer. In the middle of all this chaos, a boy wakes up with no memory. He doesn’t know his name, where he came from, or how he ended up there. He’s completely lost—until the moment he nearly sees a helpless woman get killed for her Aether. Something in him shifts. His chest tightens with a kind of ache he can’t explain. It’s as if some part of him knows this isn't how things are supposed to be. He tries to ignore it at first. But the feeling won’t go away. Eventually, he makes a decision—he’s going to do something. He doesn’t know what he’ll find, or if he can even make a difference, but he has to try. Maybe along the way, he’ll uncover why he feels this pull in the first place. Maybe he’ll help Sylmora. Maybe he’ll just get answers about who he is. But deep down, he knows this journey won’t be easy. Because the truth might not just change Sylmora. It might change him. ___ What to expect from me: Weekly Chapters (eventually will release 2 a week at some point later on) Open transparency of my process of creating a story on my social media and on my website ___ The goal of this series is to become an animated series one day. Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Is this truly the end of us…" said a masked figure looking over a burning town on a cliff.

This town was ravaged in turmoil. Innocent civilians attacked one another, while soldiers battled against the enemy army. Then suddenly, a huge fire explosion swept across the town. The masked figure looked to his right atop the cliff to see the opposing countries' mages attacking from afar.

Despite casting a massive spell, the enemy mages seemed quite unfazed, ready to cast another.

"This is the end of humanity… as we know it…"

The masked figure turned around to see who said that. Four more similar masked figures walked up behind him.

One of the four masked figures then proceeded to add on, "But there is still a way to save this wretched world from the brink of destruction."

"Do you mean…"

"Yes. The key."

The first masked figure was unsure about using this "key" the other four brought up. He stopped to think, grazing his hand over his mask.

"But even still, do we think this is the only option?"

"Are you saying that now we give up? On our world? Our people?" questioned the other masked figure.

The initial masked figure stood there silently, the flickering flames from the distant burning town being the only sound. Once more, the mages cast a huge, sweeping fire explosion across the already wrecked town.

He then stopped grazing his hand with his mask and now forcefully held onto it, as if he finally had made up his mind.

"You're right. This is no time to abandon our course. Our country needs saving."
