Chapter 6 - The Righteous Never Win

*Warning: chapter contains violent descriptions*

The sound of blades clashing against each other echo throughout the eerily quiet streets. Nitaru's eyes darkened as he aimed his blade to Riku's arm. The air swirls around as Nitaru's blade only slices through the air. Riku had dodged so swiftly that even Nitaru couldn't see.

"Too slow, Nitaru," Riku yawns mockingly, waving his hand in front of his mouth.

Nitaru grits his teeth, his hands gripping his daggers even tighter as he prepares a technique against Riku. Noticing this, Riku quickly prepares a countering technique to potentially reduce the damage from Nitaru. The humid summer air goes still and silent as Nitaru prepares to unleash his attack. Riku's eyes widen from the sudden change of environment, feeling the immense intimidating aura that radiated off of Nitaru like seething anger.

"Dagger of the Sinister Serpent!" Nitaru unleashed his attack, his body swerving in multiple ways as his daggers produced a black slithery serpent. The serpent's eyes shined with yellow intimidation, making Riku take large leaps backwards to potentially avoid the technique that has a massive radius. Nitaru dashed forward, the newly formed slithering snake that is emitting from Nitaru's daggers causing the asphalt below the two to shake and crack violently. Riku knows that the attack is inevitable, so he counters it with his own.

"Sagittarius: Flaming Bow!" Riku launches himself backwards, flipping his body as his purple flame bow manifests into his hands, the arrow quickly appearing visibly on the string of the bow. The arrow burns brighter as RIku prepares to release it, but Nitaru steps in quickly and pushes himself forward. Nitaru aims both his daggers, one at Riku's head and one at his stomach. Surprised by this action, Riku quickly tries shooting the flame arrow, the arrow misfiring and shooting into a building, causing the walls to crack and protrude from the normal structure. Nitaru doesn't seem fazed by the misfire, throwing his daggers at Riku as he dodges debris falling down from the collapsing building.

Riku quickly dodges, landing onto a table outside an abandoned coffee shop. The daggers hit straight into cars, causing the vehicles to explode with loud bangs. Nitaru approaches Riku swiftly, his daggers retracting from the burning vehicles and flipping back into his hands. Nitaru walks in between the two vehicles on fire, the flames burning strongly as it rises into the air. Riku's eyes widen at the sight before him, not expecting Nitaru to be so aggressive and blood thirsty. Realizing his vulnerability, Riku stands up straight, quickly thinking about another plan to take Nitaru down.

Meanwhile, Nitaru dives downward, aiming his sharp daggers at Riku's legs. His cape flows furiously in the wind as he makes his move. Riku steps backward, countering the move with his own flaming blades that summoned suddenly. The clash causes a strong whiplash to the side of the two, the lash striking the trees and making them sway, the branches shaking from the force. RIku prepares his next move, summoning a trumpet that burns with purple flame like his flaming bow from earlier. The flames of the trumpet drip down to the asphalt below the two as Nitaru continues his persistent and strong slashes.

"Trumpet of the Archangel!" Riku blows into the trumpet, a deafening echo of the trumpet causing the nearby windows shatter and pillars of skyscrapers to crack from the sound.

Nitaru quickly parries with an upper slash of his daggers, causing the invisible force of loud noise to shoot up straight and not at buildings. Noticing Riku's shock, Nitaru takes the advantage to finally use his technique, dashing forward and aiming at Riku who now was in close proximity. His daggers radiate with a black glow as he prepares the release of his technique.

"Merciless Night of the Dagger!" Nitaru forms several large slashes, going in all directions. Riku barely has time to react, several of the slashes settling in his arm and abdomen, causing blood to spurt from his deep wounds. Riku barely dodges the other slashes, making them hit the building behind him. Coughing up blood from the deep wounds, the building that the slashes cut through collapses, smoke rising rapidly. Through the smoke, Nitaru appears mid-air, already preparing for another attack. His face is emotionless, full of vengeful anger. Riku quickly parries the attack, flipping back onto his feet despite the wounds he has. The two breathe heavily, staring at each other's every movement.

Riku speaks up, his voice full of quivering fear and pain, "Nitaru, the righteous never win without consequences...so stop trying so hard to defeat me and Akujin..."

Nitaru grits his teeth, refusing to accept Riku's message, "I don't care about the consequences that I may face, as long as I know you two are erased from existence."

Riku nods, spitting blood onto the ground beside him, "Then let's fight to the death, since you want to defeat me."

The two prepare for another series of clashes, both in full merciless seriousness.

Meanwhile, Heizu appears from the smoke that surrounds the monorail station.

"Gyonu? Where are you!?" He asks in fear, looking around frantically, holding his backup pistol in his hand.

Emerging from the smoke is Gyonu, his clothes covered in dust, "Ugh, Im right here," He coughs.

"Who do you think put dynamite all over the station? I mean, it's not that easy to do in little time. It must've been prepared over time," Heizu asks curiously, looking at the fires as they rise above the destruction of the station.

Gyonu breathes in before answering, "Had to be Akujin, no one could do this without using magic enhancing to keep it from being hidden from the public. Don't you get wh-"

The smoke swirled as something appeared from the smoke. Both Gyonu and Heizu stance, preparing for anything that was to come out. The ground shook with a medium intensity, enough to make the trees nearby shake and quiver from the constant explosions. The smoke clears the entrance of the destroyed station, and a young woman wearing an all-black kimono stood there, grinning sinisterly. Her hair was in a messy bun, a dark red rose hairpin holding the bun together. Her height was extended by the low-raise heels she wore. Her skin was pale but still regular in a way. Her eyes gleamed a dark sinister stare onto Gyonu and Heizu.

"It was me," the woman grins.

Heizu blindly asks, "Who are you? Do you work for Akujin?"

The woman grins even more, her grin extending to her ears as, if possible, from the amount of strain that was on her face, "Im the Witch of the Supernatural, Mazaki," she pauses, "And you two, I am glad to face."

Gyonu's eyes widen in recognition as he remembers Mazaki from the incident in Shinjuku.

Mazaki, seeing his realization, makes her confident and prideful with her planned motives, "Pray, because you both won't make it out alive."
