Zephyr's P.O.V
Knocking against the door, I'm once again met with the usual response of Lucia telling me to go away. Ever since the doctor told me of Lucia's miscarriage I had been tormented with guilt that I was the cause of her miscarriage. If only I had just agreed to her damn request of wanting us to get married. Perhaps everyone was right, perhaps I had no mate and maybe I could learn to fall in love with Lucia along the way. We've been doing fairly well as friends with benefits so it couldn't be so bad staying married to her right?
I knock against her door but she doesn't respond which I take as an invitation to come in.
Lucia laid sprawled on the bed under the duvet with her back turned to me, but from her light sniffles I could tell she had been crying.
"Lucia I...I dunno what to say but I just want you to know that I'm sorry, I'm sorry for causing you so much pain and I'm sorry for the loss of our child." Still no response.
Exhaling softly I walk over to her and sit at the edge of the bed not wanting to upset her. "I'm so sorry Lucia, what can I do to make it right?" We both remain silent for a while until she sits up to look at me, her red-rimmed eyes staring at me with pain as she folds her arms. She looked a far cry from the usual prepped and posh Lucia which I knew.
"What do you want me to say huh? That I'm fine? Because I'm not. I'm not Zephyr, I loved you so much and you knew it..hell I practically begged for your attention and for you to love me. I needed you the most but you weren't there for me Zephyr and now there's nothing left of us."
"What can I do to make things right?"
She looks away from me for a moment and looks back at me as she spoke.
"Marry me Zephyr, nothing would make me happier."
"Lucia--"
"Do you want to see me suffer? Do you want me to be the laughing stock among my friends?" She cuts me off. Looking down at her fingers before saying softly, "I just want to be with you, I want us to be happy. We already lost a child but I'm certain we could make more." She crawls over to me, leaning in to place light kisses on my neck as she whispers softly, "Please Zeph."
I consider my chances, luck didn't really seem to be on my side and besides my parents were right, Lucia would be the perfect wife and Luna. And so I say the words which would seal my fate to here, "Fine, let's get married."

A few hours later, Lucia, I and my Delta were on our way to a hotel outside the border of our pack, we were passing through human territory to get to another pack which had invited us to a party. My Beta Ralph was out of town with his family to take a vacation, pack duties had taken up so much of his time that he never really had much time for his family anymore. As we drove into the city, I recalled my conversation with Lucia. She was beyond thrilled when I asked her to get married to me and even more thrilled that I'd be announcing our engagement as soon as possible. I suppose she had told my parents about our 'engagement' as they had called me to congratulate me soon after.
Soon enough we pulled up to the driveway of the hotel we'd be staying at, Lucia clung onto me the whole way giggling at the slightest thing that no one would've ever thought that she was the same brooding woman who had just had a miscarriage.
"Baby our wedding's gonna be the talk of the town, it's gonna be so lavish and--" I blocked out her voice as the elevator moved up, thinking of any other thing than the forthcoming wedding. The elevator soon came to a stop thankfully and so did Lucia's talk about the wedding.
"You okay baby?"
Wearing a fake smile, I nod at her, "Yeah I just need to get some rest, I've been stressed lately and I feel worn out from the trip." Well that wasn't a total lie. She smiled in understanding as we entered the penthouse with my Delta following close behind. Excusing myself from the duo I made my way to my room, taking a quick shower and then it was lights out for me as soon as I hit the bed.
LUCIA'S P.O.V
As soon as Zephyr left, Parker and I were escorted into our respective rooms with the staff carrying our luggage for us. Saying my thanks to the lady staff, I drop my purse on the bed taking a look around. I had barely been in my room for two minutes when I heard a knock on the door, supposing it was the lady who had left just a few minutes ago, I open the door without question only to be met with someone else.
"Hey baby." I look around in a panic before pulling him in, locking the door behind me.
"What are you doing here Parker?" I whisper-yell, not wanting to attract attention.
Stepping close to me, he pulls me close by my waist "I missed you, being so close to you without being able to touch you or even speak to you drove me crazy."
"We have to be careful Parker, Zephyr who is still your alpha if I must remind you, is just down the hall. He'd have both our heads if he knew you were in here."
He lets out a snort as pecks my forehead, "I don't care if he's in the room next door Lucia. I love you and I want to be with you. I want the whole world to know how much I care about you." I couldn't help but smile at his words, Parker had always been so sweet to me and while I knew I had feelings for him, I certainly couldn't call it love. Instead of replying, I simply pull him close to me by the neck, kissing him softly which he eagerly reciprocates as he leads me to the bed, making sweet love. I couldn't help but feel guilty as flashes of Zephyr crossed my mind as I made love to another man...I was fucked
