Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Thalia's P.O.V

I could feel the blood in my veins pump faster as the familiar sight of the camp came into view. I was itching for a fight but I was also preparing myself for the inevitable confrontation which I'd have with my father.

Pulling up to the building which I once lived in, I turn off the engine of my bike, bracing myself as I get off and head into the house. Slamming the door open, heads turn to look at me in curiosity not expecting to see me especially in such a disarrayed state.

"Where's my father?" I ask the group laying around on the couch holding cheap beer. I knew the whole lot of them considering we grew up together but it certainly didn't mean we liked each other.

"Well hello to you too Thalia." Sophia's boyfriend, Peter spoke. Well they were sort of dating when I still lived here not so sure if they were still dating and I didn't care to know. Rising to his feet, he walks over to me with his beer in hand and God did he reek of alcohol and sweat.

"It's been a while since I last saw you beautiful, I've missed you." He picked a strand of my hair, twisting it in between his fingers.

"Don't fucking touch me or so help me Peter I will break every single bone in your pathetic hand." I could hear a series of 'ouuss' and 'burn' from his friend behind which Peter didn't take so well as his face hardened while he let go of my hair.

Scoffing, "Whatever, it's not like you're worth my time anyways." he turns back to his seat.

"Anyone want to be a darling and tell me where my father is?" This time Harden spoke up.

"He's at the training grounds." Giving him a nod I leave for the training grounds.

As I get closer to the training grounds I hear the sounds of someone hitting a punching bag and I instantly knew it was my father. That was his favorite thing to do, hit anything...or anyone.

"Hello Father." I greet, stepping into sight as he instantly stops and turns to me.

"Nathalia." I could feel a chill run down my spine as he called out my full name. I hated being called that because of him. "Whatever are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be out in the fields? Or did you realize you're too weak to take on the job?" My hands clenched at my sides at his demeaning words. He never missed a moment to tell me how he felt about me his own daughter.

Shrugging off his comments I walk up to him. "While I'm sure that'd make you happy I am in fact not here to tell you that, I was attacked last night on my way here."

"And? Are you looking to get any comfort because I can assure you that you've just wasted your bloody time and mine." He scowls. I take a moment to run my eyes through him. My father, Derek Petrova, had always been well-built standing tall and proud even in the face of danger, only that this time he looked more aged. The only thing which I took after him were his eyes, the rest I took from my mother which he had said one too many time had disgusted him.

"How's Sophia Father? Is she well considering the beating I gave her, she mustn't be very pretty in your eyes now." My words laced with venom and hatred didn't go well with him as in the next moment he struck me down to the ground.

Standing over me, he spat, "Watch your tone with me young lady. You think you're so tough? You're nothing more than a pathetic little child seeking my attention, willing to do anything to get it."

Letting out a bitter laugh, "Your attention? Well why don't you ask your precious Sophia what she's been doing colluding with the werewolves or are you so pussy struck that you didn't even realize that she was up to something?"

Taking a step backwards, he cocked his head to the side before letting out a scoff. "Sophia would never do that so stop spreading such lies about her. You've always been jealous of her because I loved her more than I loved you and more than I'd ever love you but still that gives you no right to say such lies about her." His words struck a nerve within me. I knew he always fancied Sophia over me but hearing him say it to my face was heartbreaking. I look away from him not wanting him to see me about to breakdown, as I stand blinking my tears away and then looking back at him.

I walk up to him, stopping a few steps away from him before speaking. "You know growing up I always did want your attention, I'd do anything to have it but now I realize that I was a bloody fool to ever want to have you notice me, your own blood. I will complete my damn task and I'll take *her* away from you and only then will I finally be rid of you." His jaw ticks at my words but he says nothing so I walk away from him but just before I leave, I turn to him.

"I feel sorry for you Father, you're lonely after having pushed your own family away from you by your actions and you don't even know the people around you. And just so you know, it was your pathetic Sophia who led the werewolves that attacked me. Apparently she and Alpha Keith have some sort of agreement and if I were you I'd look into that. Goodbye Father."

I head for the lakeside after grabbing a few bottles of beer on the way. As I settle down on a comfortable spot, I pick up a beer and pop it open, taking a large gulp of the bitter drink. I finally allow the tears I had been holding back stream down my face. I poured out my pain, the pain of not having a father who loved me, the pain of losing my mother and the pain of having lost *her*. We'd always come here together to play but then my father took her captive, promising to return her to me if I could get rid of the werewolf target he wanted dead. A well-known werewolf Alpha who was known to be dangerous, I had practically signed my death sentence going after him but I didn't care as long as I knew that I'd get her out of my fathers' clutches, and if I were to survive this mission I'd make sure Derek never finds us.
