-CHAPTER 14-
-FUSHIGURO MEGUMI-
But first… I should probably deal with Orochi's biggest weaknesses… and that was of course when he fully manifested himself. His biggest strength was of course the sneak attacks and his huge size.
So by empowering Orochi using Binding Vows, I wanted to increase his speed, decrease the danger that he had to go through, and make him overall more useful.
So what to give up for all of that… It was once again pretty obvious for me. I had many heavy hitters, but I wanted to give Orochi something special that he could make use of…
I weaved the handsigns in the shape of a snake's head. "[Orochi]" but rather than summoning him into the real world I summon him inside a shadow (I'm not bearing his weight).
"I vow that I will never fully summon Orochi's full body out of the shadows, only using his head and tail, also everytime I summon Orochi I would have to say his name alongside his handsign. In exchange his speed and powers should drastically increase." I performed the Binding Vow, knowing that it would take effect because of the big disadvantages I had given myself.
But…just to be sure.
Performing my handsign I pointed at the shack next to the swimming pool. "[Orochi]"
"HISSSSSS~!"
WOOOSH!
-And instantly Orochi was just there as the wind blew to show his arrival, his gigantic building sized head having grown atleast 20 times bigger, having understood my order beforehand, he had swallowed down the entire shack before I could even see it.
I laughed. "HAHAHA!" I was mostly going off of how the Snake Devil and Fox Devil worked in Chainsaw Man, but this is even better. Because Orochi was probably much stronger than either of them (he was bigger).
Once again I looked at another building, this one a restroom, and said. "[Orochi] tail."
WOOOOSH!
BAAAAM!
-Instantly a building sized white snake's tail shot out from a shadow, slamming into and destroying the restroom to pieces. Once again I smiled. Honestly these attacks seem much more useful and powerful than using Orochi as he was. Many might not see it that way but that's how I thought.
"Now let's do one last one for today." I said outloud as I unsummoned Orochi and performed the handsigns to summon another Shikigami, I had other places to be tonight after all.
But first, let's gain some altitude. "[Nue] fly high!"
"Screech!"
The owl-like Shikigami screeched as it was summoned grabbing me by its talons as flew high, circling over the destroyed swimming pool as I performed the handsigns for the next Shikigami to begin the ritual.
Gaining an altitude was important because this next one was going to be a tricky opponent. I already knew this before summoning him because its canon version was strong without having the inevitable differences it would have now because of me.
Weaving the handsigns into the shape of an ox's head, I incanted. "[Piercing Ox]"
"ROAAAARRRR!"
The shadows beneath me, inside the destroyed and half filled pool, bulged as an SUV car sized fighting bull came out rushing.
Why is it red? I thought confusedly.
"ROAAAAR!!!"
TREMMOORRRRR~!
Honestly it had the most notable differences compared to all of my Shikigami yet as rather than the relatively large and muscled version that Sukuna had summoned in his fight against Yorozu, this "ox" was more like red colored fighting bull juiced on super soldier serum,
It had a full red colored fur coat all around its extremely large and super muscular body, with white fur around its neck, two menacing white short curved horns proudly on the sides of its head, a symbol on its forehead, and a long thin black tail.
Despite looking up and seeing me, the red bull (AHA!) didn't stop running in circles around me. My eyes narrowed at this. It can't increase its strength this way… it has to run in a straight path to increase its strength after all. So what is it trying to do here?
Deciding to do something, I summoned the excellent guinea pigs- or rabbits. "[Rabbit Escape!]"
The main rabbit- being inside my own shadow, with me bearing his weight –understood his objective intelligently. Summoning hundreds and soon thousands of clones of itself in the path of the red bull.
"KEKEKEKE!" I shivered from the creepy laughter that the rabbits produced as they opened their terrifying mouths wide, jumping and swarming the red bull until nothing of him could be seen.
Was that it? But I had a feeling that it wasn't. And I was proven right when-
"ROAAAARRRR!"
BOOOOOOOM!
A massive explosion from in between the rabbits expanded, almost even reaching us in the sky. Soon all the rabbit burned to death, revealing that it was an energy field made up of red CE energy, disintegrating everything in its vicinity as the bull kept on running. Soon it dissipated, being absorbed back into the red bull.
My mouth hung low as I was blown away(metaphorically) by that. What the heck was that?! I was expecting anything but that. It was almost like the bull had another Cursed Technique!?
But after calming down, I thought about this logically and soon came to a conclusion…
I instructed. "Send out 10 clones, and keep sending out 10 every 5 seconds. Attack at full power but make sure I can see what it does." And as I had ordered 10 rabbits appeared on the plain battlefield. "KEKEKEKEKE!"
As they swarmed and attacked the running bull- trying to eat it alive with their horrific mouths, I could see everything happening in detail because of the low amount of rabbits I had summoned.
Soon fifteen seconds had passed, and there were 30 rabbits attacking the red bull. And I smiled as I finally caught onto what the Bull had been doing-
"ROAAAARRRR!!!!"
BOOM!
Once again a dome like red cursed energy field extended outwards from the red bull, disintegrating everything caught within its blast and soon afterwards getting absorbed back into the Bull.
Throughout all of this though, my eye had caught onto its tail. Wasn't it black before? He bull's tail had been fully black when I summoned it and fully red when it blasted that red CE field.
And I couldn't help but grin as I saw that it was getting progressively redder and less and less blacker as the bull ran. So the bull charges that attack using the kinetic energy it generates from running! That is why it has been running constantly! Trying to make his CE field reach me!
It all made sense, while the bull was a bit dumb as he was trying the same thing over and over again, this also meant that this was just an extension of its main technique that was getting stronger in a straight run-
"Make the rabbits merge into one to attract his attention." I told Rabbit Escape. As it summoned even more clones on the battlefield standing far away from the bull as they horrifically merged into one. Screeching at the bull in clear anger.
"Okay so the bull isn't that dumb." I muttered as I saw the bull keep on its run around my aerial form. It knows that I'm the main target, so it doesn't care about my summons that much…
I sighed, unsummoning both Nue and Rabbit Escape and falling towards the ground.
Instantly the bull changed its trajectory, now moving in a straight path towards where I would be falling. And as my eyes were focused on its tail I couldn't help but grinning at seeing the tail stop midway in turning red, now slowly turning black.
So it can't use both aspects of its technique at the same time. It's either the CE field or the charge-equals-strength. I smiled. It would be an excellent addition to my arsenal.
I extended out one hand and swiped my fingers at the charging bull repeatedly in quick succession.
WOOSH! WOOSH! WOOSH! WOOSH! WOOSH!
I don't need to swipe my whole arm to give the slash its "slashing" shape. Just a small movement of my finger can suffice too. I smiled at the confirmation of the theory I had.
Showing its resilience, the bull didn't die, but due to the injuries sustained it couldn't keep on continuing its charge.
"Roar!" It roars in defiance, readying itself for a charge.
I like him even more, he doesn't give up even when it's obvious that he's gonna lose. I smiled, taking out a metal bat from my shadow and reinforcing it with CE. I should at least defeat him with my own hands.
Looking at each other, we charged.
BLAM!
BOOM!
Unfortunately for the bull, if it had had more time to build up its charge and if it wasn't half injured from the wounds sustained by it during the whole battle, it could've won, it really could've. After all, it was one of the strongest Shikigami available inside the Ten Shadows Technique.
CLINK!
-And one more joins the family. I thought as I walked out of the abandoned swimming pool, undoing the Curtain above along the way. That leaves only Funeral Tiger and the Divine General himself, Mahoraga.
I looked up at the night sky. Moonlight shining down towards me in the clear night sky. And then hopefully… I'll be able to wake up Tsumiki.
Then as I reached a crossing I took a turn towards the infamous Yasohachi Bridge that was featured a lot in the local urban legends here, related to bungee jumping off of it. Now let's exorcise a curse!
