Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Third Perpetual Motion Machine

Little Garden World, Earth, within a hidden laboratory—

---

"Dr. Vesper, preparations for the Third Star Particle experiment are complete. Shall we commence?"

A researcher in a white lab coat asked nervously, his eyes fixed on the bearded man in his late twenties standing before him, similarly clad in a lab coat. The researcher's gaze held undisguised admiration, with a fervent excitement simmering beneath the surface. His emotions were so intense he struggled to control his breathing.

Dr. Vesper, though young, was a world-renowned expert in energy research. He dreamed of developing new energy sources to alter humanity's fate. After all, wars among humans were fundamentally struggles over resources. Yet the resources humanity could control were finite. To secure a larger share of this limited pie, conflict was inevitable. This "struggle" brought only slaughter and war.

Theoretically, the simplest way to change humanity's war-torn history and inherent flaws was to expand the pie itself. Developing new energy sources was humanity's most urgent task in this era. Otherwise, Earth's resources would eventually deplete, heralding humanity's extinction.

Driven by this fervent desire to alter humanity's destiny and unwavering conviction, Dr. Vesper had embarked on this path of no return. However, new energy development was far from simple. Despite funding from major international organizations, years of research had yielded no tangible results. Yet one of Dr. Vesper's discoveries held the potential to rewrite human history.

His gaze shifted to a nearby glass vessel, filled with both hope and fearful hesitation. Floating within it was a strand of ethereal beauty, shimmering like starlight.

*The Third Star Particle*—this was the name Dr. Vesper had given to this exquisite thread. This substance—or perhaps it wasn't a substance at all—defied all current human technology for analysis. Dr. Vesper had discovered it by chance. Though its nature remained elusive, research had revealed the "infinite energy" contained within.

This discovery filled Dr. Vesper with ecstatic disbelief. He believed it to be nature's greatest gift to humanity. If the "Star Particle" could be mass-produced, or if more of its kind could be found, humanity's infinite energy needs could be met in an unprecedented way.

Regrettably, Dr. Vesper never found another Star Particle. It was neither man-made nor divine creation. He even entertained the absurd notion that the Star Particle was a manifestation of cosmic principles. The three Star Particles before him were the original 『Archetypes』, the only three in existence.

Research could not cease despite the impossibility of finding more. Led by Dr. Vesper, the research team began studying these three 『Archetypes』 within this hidden laboratory. The results were disappointing; every conceivable human technology proved ineffective against the Star Particle.

After countless cautious experiments, the team discovered the Star Particle only reacted to humans—and only to a select few. If it couldn't be utilized, the Star Particle's infinite energy held little practical value. With all conventional methods exhausted, Dr. Vesper made a desperate decision:

Since it only reacted to humans, inject it *into* a human. Direct human experimentation!

This decision defied all ethics. Especially for the first subject, there were no experimental data, no calculable probability of success. Yet, driven by his desire to "save" humanity's future, Dr. Vesper resolved to proceed.

In another vessel connected to the Star Particle lay an infant, not yet fully grown. Dr. Vesper's eyes filled with anguish as he looked at the child—his firstborn son, **Orion Vesper**.

This wasn't born of self-righteous sacrifice; his children simply possessed the highest compatibility rates with the Star Particle. Under these circumstances, his eldest son naturally became the first test subject.

Perhaps out of compassion, or perhaps fear and dread, Dr. Vesper tore his gaze away. He began rambling, seemingly trying to distract himself, addressing his wife beside him:

"...After the First Law of Thermodynamics was established, humanity realized energy cannot be created from nothing. Some proposed designing devices to draw thermal energy from the ocean, atmosphere, or even the cosmos, using it to power a perpetual motion machine... This became the *Second-Class Perpetual Motion Machine*."

"...But after the German Rudolf Clausius and the Briton Lord Kelvin studied the Carnot cycle and the First Law, they proposed the Second Law of Thermodynamics..."

"...The advent of this law pronounced the death sentence for the Second-Class Perpetual Motion Machine!"

Dr. Vesper took a deep breath and continued, "...In 1871, British physicist James Maxwell proposed the hypothetical 'Maxwell's Demon'..."

"...Maxwell's Demon was conceived as a thought experiment to challenge the possibility of violating the Second Law."

"...However, in 1981, Bennett's paper demonstrated that the dissipative process, where the demon controls a 'door' to move molecules between compartments, didn't occur during the measurement phase..."

"...This rendered Maxwell's Demon a paradox, effectively refuting the theory."

Dr. Vesper clenched his fist, his voice suddenly rising, "...But the 'Star Particle' is different! It possesses physical properties beyond our current human comprehension..."

"...It can truly achieve 'perpetual motion,' bypassing the 'Second Law of Thermodynamics' in an incomprehensible way!"

"I have named it the 'Third Star Particle.' If it can be used to create a perpetual motion machine, it will be the 'Third-Class Perpetual Motion Machine'—the 'Third Perpetual Motion Engine'!"

"...This will be an unprecedented feat and a monumental achievement in human history!"

After this impassioned declaration, Dr. Vesper slumped, drained. His wife, tears streaming down her face, gripped his hand tightly, silently shaking her head.

Finally, Dr. Vesper took a deep breath and commanded, "...Commence the experiment!"

"Yes, Director!"

The researcher pressed a button on the control panel. The procedure was pre-programmed; execution required only this single action. As machinery whirred to life, the Star Particle within the vessel, under the watchful eyes of the fervent and the sorrowful, was injected into **Orion Vesper's** body.

"How are the subject's vitals?" Dr. Vesper shouted anxiously.

"Vitals normal! The 'Star Particle' is fusing with the 'Eldest Son.' Fusion process proceeding smoothly!"

Dr. Vesper let out a sigh of relief at the researcher's report.

But then, the researcher's voice suddenly tightened in alarm, "...Critical! Data error! Cause unknown!"

As the words left his mouth, **Orion Vesper's** infant body within the vessel visibly fractured before everyone's eyes, dissolving into a shower of inexplicable starlight and vanishing.

Witnessing this, Mrs. Vesper collapsed to the floor, wailing.

Dr. Vesper's face turned deathly pale. He swayed slightly, then said weakly to the researcher, "...Secure all critical experimental data."

After uttering this, he knelt beside his wife. After a long hesitation, he placed a hand on her shoulder and whispered bitterly, "...We still have **Izayoi**."

**Chapter 1: Mother of Evil Gods**

**Orion Vesper** was utterly bewildered.

As an ordinary person born in that ancient nation, he had inexplicably crossed over into this parallel version of Earth and been reborn as an infant. His previous life's surname was Vesper , meaning "Western Twilight," already quite rare even in his homeland. According to his former parents, his ancestors bore the surname Zhang and were relatives of Empress Zhang, consort of the Ming Emperor Xiaozong. Relying on their imperial connections, they bullied the common folk and tyrannized the countryside. After Empress Zhang's death, the Zhu family ordered their execution. Their descendants fled in all directions, eventually adopting the surnames derived from the cardinal directions: East (东), South (南), West (西), and North (北). Orion cared little about his ancestors' fleeting glory; essentially, they were descendants of criminals.

Orion had read many transmigration novels and wasn't surprised by the concept. What set him apart from typical protagonists was his lack of excitement; he was thoroughly displeased. In his previous life, he had been moderately successful—owning a car and apartment by his late twenties through his own efforts, surpassing most peers. This parallel Earth meant his accumulated knowledge might be useless here. Seeing decades of hard work vanish, forcing him to start anew, would frustrate anyone.

The only consolation was gaining an extra twenty-plus years of life. Yet this frustration soon faded, replaced by shock and exhilaration when Orion discovered this world's true nature.

*This was the world of "Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren't They?"!*

He had been an anime fan in his youth, though busyness in later life diminished his interest. His anime knowledge was limited to older classics; newer series were largely unfamiliar. "Problem Children" happened to be one he knew. Though he'd only seen the anime and didn't grasp the full story, he understood the basic world setting. Crucially, he knew the protagonist: his *idiotic* younger brother—**Izayoi Vesper**

( PS: I changed the last name from Sakamaki to Vesper which sounds much cooler )

In a world teeming with gods, buddhas, immortals, and saints, existence was infinitely varied, promising a life far more spectacular than before. Knowing his brother was the protagonist, Orion adopted a philosophy of coasting through life. At the very least, this life would be more interesting than the last. The prospect of gaining supernatural abilities, unimaginable in his previous life, was even more enticing. Fame and fortune barely crossed his mind.

Only after crossing over did he realize how perilous a world filled with Asuras, gods, and buddhas truly was. Any sane person discovering they were ordinary in such a world would prioritize survival above all else. Coasting seemed perfectly reasonable; as an ordinary human, celestial conflicts were beyond his control.

But all these plans disintegrated during the "Star Particle" experiment.

As the dazzling stellar thread entered his body, agony capable of tearing apart soul and flesh overwhelmed him. Darkness swallowed his vision, consciousness fleeing.

Yet Orion knew he wasn't dead. He had arrived in this eerie, unfathomable darkness. Here, all was silent and desolate, devoid of life, even the concepts of time and space felt absent. The only sensations Orion's consciousness could grasp were a profound emotion akin to the dawn of life itself and the indescribable throb of a heartbeat.
