Magic City, Azure Sky Hunter Agency.
"Is this the mission?"
Zhou Haoyu took the commission letter from Lingling. The general gist of the mission was that there were monsters appearing in a manor on the outskirts, and hunters were needed to eliminate them.
The important detail was that the client was none other than: Mu Ye.
If he remembered correctly, this Mu Ye was the older brother of Mu Nujiao and Mu Nuxin, considered the heir to the Mu family.
However, his talent seemed rather average, basically a typical playboy.
If he wanted to open Mu Nujiao's treasure chest, he needed to earn the Mu family's recognition, and Mu Ye happened to be one of the key members.
"Didn't you say the previous missions were too easy? This time the commission is restricted to Hunter Masters. It's far more dangerous than the others. You better think it through." Lingling said seriously.
Zhou Haoyu's eyes lowered, and sure enough, he saw the line: Requirement: Two-star Hunter Master or above.
Zhou Haoyu was only an Elite Hunter, but Lingling was already a Three-star Hunter Master, fully qualified to take this commission.
"We'll take it," Zhou Haoyu said after a moment of thought.
After completing this commission, he'd likely reach the threshold to become a Hunter Master.
Most importantly, getting to know Mu Ye might help him unlock Mu Nujiao's treasure chest.
"As long as you've made up your mind." Lingling didn't try to persuade him otherwise. She knew Zhou Haoyu's strength far exceeded that of ordinary mages.
Could a regular mid-tier mage one-shot a Warrior-level monster?
"Pack up your things. We're heading out."
The two of them sat on the back of the Flame Scorpion Tiger, speeding along the highway toward the outskirts.
Strictly speaking, riding a summoned beast within city limits required a permit, but Zhou Haoyu didn't care about that. At most, it would just mean a higher fine.
The towering buildings gradually faded from view, replaced by scattered low houses on either side of the road.
After a long while, an ancient-looking manor appeared before them.
The manor was surrounded by a low stone wall covered in lush green vines. The main gate was made of heavy oak, inlaid with rustic bronze decorations.
"You two, no trespassing is allowed here."
Just as Zhou Haoyu was about to push the gate open, a middle-aged man who appeared to be the butler stopped him.
"We're the hunters assigned to the commission," Lingling said, showing her Hunter License.
The butler glanced at Lingling's license, a look of surprise flashing across his face.
This little girl was actually a Hunter Master?
Let alone the girl—even the young man beside her didn't look that old. Was this some kind of joke?
Despite his doubts, the middle-aged butler maintained professional decorum. This young man had an extraordinary bearing—his identity was likely anything but ordinary.
"This way, please. Young Master is waiting inside," the butler said, bowing respectfully.
Pushing open the gate, a cobblestone path stretched ahead, winding all the way to the villa.
On both sides of the path were neatly trimmed lawns, dotted with several tall oak trees. The thick trunks extended branches in all directions, with lush foliage intertwining to form patches of dense shade.
Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting golden speckles on the ground.
The villa was a two-story European-style building, its outer walls constructed of beige bricks and stone, which glowed warmly in the sunlight.
On one side of the manor was an exquisite garden, planted with a wide variety of flowers.
At the center of the garden stood a small fountain. Water trickled down from the top of the sculpture, falling into the basin below and splashing into crystalline droplets, producing a pleasant, melodic sound.
"Hey, you two! Who said you could come in!"
A handsome young man dressed in luxurious clothing walked out, clearly displeased, with no intention of hiding it.
Zhou Haoyu glanced at him a few times. He looked to be in his late twenties and shared some resemblance with Mu Nujiao and Mu Nuxin.
This was most likely Mu Ye.
"We're from Azure Sky Hunter Agency. We took on your commission to eliminate the monsters," Lingling said calmly and professionally, without the slightest irritation.
"Azure Sky Hunter Agency?"
Mu Ye's initial disdain instantly vanished when he heard the name, replaced by shock and confusion.
The Azure Sky Hunter Agency was a long-established name in the hunter world even the Mu family wouldn't dare to offend them.
"Didn't expect Azure Sky Hunter Agency to have hunters this young." Mu Ye mentioned their youth with his mouth, but in truth, he just didn't believe in their capability.
"Being young doesn't mean lacking strength. Being older doesn't mean you're highly cultivated." Zhou Haoyu said calmly.
Mu Ye frowned. Why did he feel a deep sense of hostility in that line? Was that supposed to be about him?
After all, he was a High-Level Mage—his talent among his peers was considered top-tier.
Mu Ye attempted to test Zhou Haoyu's strength and immediately used his spiritual energy to intrude into Zhou Haoyu's spiritual world.
"Courting death!"
A hint of fierceness flashed in Zhou Haoyu's eyes, and his vast spiritual force surged toward Mu Ye, crushing his intrusion in an instant.
Under the spiritual assault, Mu Ye felt as if all strength had left his body. His legs faltered, and he staggered backward.
"Such powerful spiritual energy!" Mu Ye clutched his head, barely managing to stabilize himself, staring at Zhou Haoyu in fear.
He was a High-Level Mage, and yet this person's spiritual force was even stronger than his and not just by a small margin!
"That was a warning. Next time won't be so easy." Zhou Haoyu said coldly.
Mu Ye was utterly arrogant, casually probing someone else's spiritual world utterly vile!
Just then, two people suddenly ran out from the villa. One of them quickly helped Mu Ye up and said anxiously, "Brother, are you alright?"
"It's you! You're actually here?!"
Ai Tutu had thought something major had happened outside and came out to watch the commotion only to be met with a familiar face.
Even though they had only met once, Ai Tutu had a deep impression of Zhou Haoyu. Despite being around the same age as them, he had taken care of the monster in Cafeteria No. 2 in a single night.
That monster had even caused two Elite Hunters to suffer defeats.
"You're the one who took the commission?"
Mu Nujiao was also shocked as she looked at Zhou Haoyu. She knew her older brother's personality there was no doubt he was the one in the wrong.
This person had been able to eliminate a Warrior-level magical creature on his own a year ago. His strength must've grown even more since then.
"You know each other?" Mu Ye pressed on his temples and asked with confusion.
Zhou Haoyu hadn't used his full strength. If he really did become the Mu Family's son-in-law, then this guy would be his brother-in-law. There was no need to go all out.
Mu Ye really had nothing to say. A dignified High-Level Mage like himself had suffered a setback at the hands of an Intermediate Mage.
But this also proved that the man's strength was indeed extraordinary perhaps he really could deal with that magical creature.
"Just met once." Mu Nujiao replied.
