After hearing all this and her saying that she did her best to let Hana survive for my sake, I was beyond emotional, not only had I discovered that I have a secret admirer today, but this person helped me by saving the only person I thought to have deeply cared about her survival in my life .
How could I not become emotional after hearing this, I was initially boiling with anger as I heard about the heroes betraying the two of them, not only that but they even hunted them down across such a vast regions and didn't give them even a second to rest, how could I not become wrathful .
But as she kept embracing me while saying all this, my heart was a bit at conflict with deciding what I should be feeling currently, gratitude, guilt, anger, sadness, happiness, all sorts of emotions bubbled inside me and after a while and surprisingly this was my first time seeing my anger get tamed and diffused this easily .
I instantly felt relieved with the girl squeezing herself in my arms and patting her back, I felt like as if I was actually the one being comforted by doing that, my anger vanished instantly and all I felt was relief, relieved at Hana successfully escaping and relieved at every accident and coincidence that happened to me and allowed me to find and meet her here .
But even though these were my truest thoughts and feelings in the moment, these thoughts directly changed and her next words channelled pure anger withing me .
She continued to speak amid her sobs about what befell her after she got captured, she tried to do her best to escape on foot, but her condition worsened with every step she took and before long, she directly collapsed and the next time she woke up she was held in a moving cell and seemed to be transported somewhere .
Her vision was blocked by a blindfold, her body wasn't able to extract even the tiniest amount of Mana for her to move a muscle, she was strapped to those chains and they were adjusted to be as tight as possible as to hurt with each time she tried to move .
It took a few days before she finally saw light again, but she at that time wished that she didn't, what first came into her view was a horrifying jaw of a Monster that she hadn't seen anything like it before, then that Monster was surprised at her waking up and he transformed into a man wearing a golden crown and this was her first time meeting Devo .
This was where her nightmare started as well, for the next period of time, not only had Devo tried using all sort of torment methods on her to give him information about where she had sent her companion, but she wasn't in a state to respond, still already suffering from more than enough injuries, her completely unable to respond only made him punish her even more harshly .
But little did he know that Hana's whereabouts were unknown to even her, the dragon she summoned was dead soon after her Mana was completely depleted, cutting the connection forcefully and sealing the fate of the Dragon .
As for where it landed, this was only found out later on, when the King sent expeditions to the desolate areas, searching for any clues that might lead him to her, but all that they found was the remains of the Dragon .
Those remains which Devo had forced her to eat, resulting in her current appearance and transformation, she didn't understand it itself, but she held the suspicion that those remains what made her look like this .
The torment lasted for over a month now, she had lost her senses of time, her pain receptors had already been dulled not long after she kept losing conscious from the severe torment .
His tries to get information out of her failed and so he kept devising more and more methods to torment her, but thankfully he didn't have any sinful thoughts about her, that bewildered her as it would have been a line that he should have way crossed it by that point of time .
I relieved her puzzlement and cleared her confusions and told her about them being unable to try and do something like that since it would most likely would have ended by you directly dying and even trying to find out whether this would actually happen or not was a risk that they weren't willing to take .
After hearing about how she was treated and how that Devo was keeping her in the worst conditions of captivity, my blood boiled even more and I was more than ready to go and teach that dog of the King a lesson, Sora told me that Devo kept tormenting her then he healed her only to torment her again and again until she was on the verge of losing her sanity, or maybe she already had .
As she was talking to me, everytime Devo name was mentioned she would turn her head around as if she was searching for something with a fearful expression on her face, before she would start crying .
I calmed her down and once again let her hug me as tightly as she could possibly can, since this gave her the slightest bit of relief, I had no problems with letting her continuing to do so .
After she had finally calmed down, I had finally had the chance to ask about how she escaped, this brought yet another fright to her, she seemed to have recalled something and she instantly let go of me and started moving randomly back and forth in the room .
It turns out that there was a Beastfolk girl who helped her escaping, but she wasn't as much lucky as her, the two devised a plan for both of them to escape, but while she escaped after disguising herself as a guard, the Beastfolk girl was a bit too big for any of the armors they found and after helping Sora out in escaping, she just returned back to the cell which she shared with Sora .
Her name was Miroka, a white tiger Beastfolk girl that was quite enormous and still had failed in the hands of the guards and was taken back to her cell, she would most likely be sentenced to death, this was the reason behind Sora current behavior .
She was worried about the person who helped her escaping as she should, that girl paid her life for her, what surprised me was Sora describing a peculiar phenomena she saw the day she escaped, as she was trying to find any corner to hide from the patrolling guards, a powerful shock spread through the whole city .
Then she saw a spear or a fork of lightening aimed descending from heaven like divine judgment and about to hit the barrier protecting the city, that phenomena caught the attention of the guards and successfully alllowed her to escape .
After that she went to the district where the poor humans were pushed to live at and she spent her next few days, trying to survive with weak than a mere infant body, depleted Mana, empty stomach and wallet, some people took some pity on her, handing her some dried bread .
Others just frowned at her and few days after came the day when I finally met her and also the day where she thought everything was over and that she would be most likely caught by Devo's men, but she ran into me instead and with that her story about what happened to her was over and she buried her face between her legs and kept calling the name Miroka and apologizing amidst her sobs .
Seeing the state she was in, I went to the side of the bed and calmed her down and said :
" Do you trust me ? .
she raised her head after I repeated my question for a second time and even though her eyes were somewhat clouded, she ended up nodding at me and saying in a muttering like voice :
I trust you .
" Well, then I won't betray your trust, soon you will be able to reunite with that friend of yours, but for now I suggest that you go ahead and get some needed rest, you had recovered your vitality, but I can tell that these past few days had been too rough on your mental state, so some rest was needed .
She looked at me with disbelief as I promised her to save her friend and I saw that she reached for my hand and seemed like she wanted to dissuade me or something like that, but just as she was about to say something, I patted her hand and said :
" Believe it or not, but I'm currently can be called the strongest person in these regions, so you don't need to worry about my health, but if you wanted to help me then you need to get some rest and return to your peak state, what do you say, do you really want to help me .
She was quite touched by my words and gestures that she instantly nodded her head with a smile on her face while her tears were still rolling down her cheeks, I shook my head at her current reaction and just as I was about to get out of the room, I recalled something and said :
" Have you recognized the face of that doctor from before ? .
As I asked this question, I saw that she was suddenly startled by the question and only after her agitated emotions finally seem to have calmed down, did she finally said :
No, I don't, but I believe that he should be a spy sent by Devo, after all, even while he was healing me, he kept advising me to go back to the castle and said that you are more of a threat to me than Devo, he even offered to help me if I needed help, luckily I hadn't listened to him or maybe we wouldn't be even having this conversation .
I processed what she was saying in my mind slightly then urged her to get some rest and once again affirmed to her that she was safe in here and that no one should be able to even lay a finger on her, she finally listened to my advice and went to sleep .
As for me, I waited in the room with her for a few minutes and only left after I was sure of her feeling safe and sound, but even though I remained in the room, my mind was still engrossed in somewhere else, I was devising a plan that should allow me to keep my promise to her .
I got out of the room and instantly 4 figures appeared before me, Leven, Dorax, Tay and that guy who was impersonating the identity of a human doctor, the 4 were kneeling before me and waited for my command .
I looked at the old doctor and said vaguely without pointing any accusations out to any of them, I said :
" Among you there is a traitor who came her with ulterior motives, I don't like getting stabbed in the back, so I would like for him or her to step forward, maybe then I will make some use of him without having to kill him, the traitor need to step forward .
Surprisingly the three whom I didn't even have doubt in stepped forward and the guy who was the main culprit stayed put in his original place, I looked at this and frowned as I truly didn't understand what was going on, using the Power in my eyes, I saw that their was nothing wrong with these guys .
" So you three are confessing that you actually betrayed me, Dorax, Leven, Tay, care to explain how exactly had you betrayed me ? .
Dorax took one more step forward and kneeled on the ground before saying :
Master, we have go against your wishes and betrayed the trust you had in us by doubting your motives behind what you are planning to do with that human heroine ? .
As I heard this, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at them misunderstanding my intention and still labeling it in such an ambiguous way, they were taking about betraying me so I thought that at least there should be something serious, not this ridiculous joke that was unfolding before me .
" I don't know whether all the three of you share the same thought or no ? .
The two behind Dorax nodded and moved a few steps and were kneeling behind him, seeing that they were overreacting, I felt the urge to slap each one of them, but in the end my boiling anger was currently aimed at one person and that person was Devo .
Completely disregarding of them prostrating themselves in front of me, I passed by them and appeared before the imposter doctor and said :
" I have a mission for you, are you going to do it or not ? .
He raised his head up and with doubtful look on his face he said :
I'm at your disposal Master .
" Well, that's good I think, Dorax bring me some paper and the house seal .
Even though none of the people present was aware of what exactly did I need these things for, they still didn't say anything about it, Dorax went ahead and brought the things I asked for back and he handed them to me, I got a writing feather from Tay and started writing a letter to Devo .
Then after I finished writing everything, I sealed the letter with the wax sigil of the family, then handed the letter to the doctor and told him to rise up, the latter did as he was told and I ordered him to take this letter to Devo, if he were to succeed, I would reward him with granting him a position by my side, if he failed then there was no particular need for him to come back .
He was bewildered at me asking him to do such an important task and for a few seconds there, he was unable to calm his emotions down, all he could do was to absentmindedly nod his head and say :
When should I go to deliver the letter ? .
" You can go ahead and leave today, no need for delay .
Then I will be going Sir, wish me luck .
" I will .
As I gave him my permission he left the room, leaving me alone with my other three subordinates who I was starting to wonder about how exactly should I deal with them, in the end I decided that for now there should be other important issues than to endorse these ridiculous thoughts and actions of their .
I turned to Tay and said :
" You can go ahead and Contact Fey, we will start making moves .
