EMMA
I could see their lips move as they talked, but I was so lost in my head that I didn't hear them.
"Luna Emma, thank you so much for your brilliant suggestion the other day."
The loud voice of the councilman beside me startled me out of my daze. It took a few seconds to figure out what he was talking about, and then I smiled.
"Thank you so much," I replied. "I'm happy I was able to help the Pack in my own little way."
My smile disappeared as soon as he turned away. Then Xavier cleared his throat loudly, and the room went quiet.
"I'm sure you're all wondering why I called for this emergency council meeting," he said as his eyes swept the room.

After a pause, Xavier continued, "I suspect that there is a spy in Silver Creek."
The councilmen shifted uneasily and glanced at one another.
