"Start talking now, or I swear by the goddess, I'll rip your head off!" Xander roared, his voice booming down the corridor like a thunderclap.
He loomed over Tyler, who knelt at his feet with wide, terrified eyes. And he had every reason to be terrified.
Never had I seen Xander this furious. His face was red, congested with blood, and his body trembled as if his wolf was clawing beneath his skin, begging to break free. I swallowed hard trying to keep a steady stride even though everything was threatening to break around me.
Why me?
Why did Tyler conspire with Vera or whoever it was?
Was trust that fickle to him?
Different questions ran through my mind.
The guards surrounding us shot wary glances at him, their own wolves restless from the oppressive aura he exuded.
Tyler swallowed hard but said nothing.
Xander let out a guttural growl, slammed his fist into the wall, and then—almost too fast to follow—he gripped Tyler's neck in an iron hold.
