Chapter 121 - Blankness

She looked at Eve with unfiltered hatred.

Skybreak was on the floor, kneeling, surrounded by hundreds of guns pointed at him.

Eve lay on the ground as Sable pressed her boot against the shoulder wound where her exo had ruptured.

She commanded the soldiers, "They are mine. Get the rest of the infiltrators."

Sable wore a sleek outfit and cape. Her eyes blazed with hatred behind her mask, filled with homicidal rage.

"You took everything from me!" she screamed, kicking Eve in the abs and sliding her across the floor. "Now I'll take everything from you!"

"Take them to the incineration chamber. Shoot her if he makes a move."

...

Inside the incineration chamber...

"Call them, or I'll kill her." She pointed her gun at Eve's temple.

Eve said, "Sky, don't! She's planning to kill us all!"

Sable shouted, "I said call them now!"

Eve replied, "Their lives are more important than my life... or yours. Sky, look at me."

He powerlessly hung his head.

Ha was thinking of a thousand ideas, his brain was on fire, but none seemed balance the odds... and there was a time bomb on engine's core.

She had her at point-blank range. Any sudden move could end her life.

Skybreak whispered, "Please, let me."

But Eve negated him with tearful eyes.

His eyes grew mistful.

Next, Sable pulled the trigger...

...Eve was gone.

Skybreak's senses fell apart. He couldn't believe his eyes. All those moments. All his life. His universe... was gone!

Rage filled him; his body started shaking. There was nothing holding him back.

He rose with unhinged fury, and by the time he was done, Sable was the only one left alive.

He dragged her by the hair. She xenomorphed, but it didn't matter. The tempest of thousands of lovers' wrath surged through his soul.

He threw her into the incinerator and hit the button. Sable's body turned to dust.

Baalthore came running and powerlessly kneeled before the incinerator chamber as Sable's dust slowly washed away.

Skybreak held Eve's body in his arms, sitting on the floor, holding her close, waiting for the time to run out.

Back on the ship, Sappherine fell to the floor as she heard the gunshot. Everyone was broken. Tears fell from mournful eyes, with no one capable of consoling the other.

Tina sat lost in blankness as the ship flew away from the dreadnaught.

The team watched as the hour came to pass. The dreadnaught exploded like a dying star.
