Chapter 249 - Chapter 249: Critical! A High-Stakes Game with the Gods!

So he really is about to blow!

Chronoa's eyes went wide, her face draining of color.

She'd long predicted that absorbing a God of Destruction would be dangerously unstable, but she hadn't expected the backlash to come this suddenly, without the slightest warning.

"Then spit them out already!"

"Can't! Those lunatics aren't just dumping power, they're drilling deeper and deeper into my tail!"

Chronoa's nerves snapped tight.

No matter what, the priority now was getting this guy out of here before he detonated.

"Move! Come with me." She immediately reached for him, then barked a hard warning. "You have to hold it in. You are not allowed to explode yet!"

But Levos didn't look panicked at all. He took a slow, deep breath.

This was a tug-of-war with the Gods of Destruction.

He wanted their power.

They wanted him to overfill and die.

He'd been mentally prepared before he ever absorbed them.

It was just that the energy inside a God of Destruction… was far more than he'd imagined.

Levos suddenly recalled a scene from Super Dragon Ball Heroes.

"If Beerus could withstand the Universe Tree's drain alone… doesn't that mean his internal energy is so vast it's basically immeasurable?!"

He really shouldn't have underestimated the accumulated foundation of these gods over tens of millions of years. Even if these nine weren't Beerus, they were still beings of the same tier.

And now, as they released power at full throttle, Levos was being pushed into a truly lethal corner.

There were ways out.

He could separate from Cell Max immediately, or even sever his own body.

But doing that would mean conceding the game and, more importantly, losing this once-in-a-lifetime chance to evolve his god-route.

"Chronoa, if you're trying to help me, can you at least stop wishing for my explosion? You're obsessed with the consequences."

"Huh?" Chronoa froze, then stared at him like he'd grown a second head. "You're actually planning to completely absorb the Gods of Destruction?"

"Don't slander me." Levos corrected flatly. "I just want to teach them a small lesson. How could I possibly absorb them completely?"

"…Alright." Chronoa secretly breathed out. "So what do you need from me?"

"I don't have a perfect solution. I can only drag it out and try to break through while I'm absorbing." Levos said it plainly, but his expression wasn't optimistic at all. His brows were drawn tight. "First can divine power be poured into someone else?"

When he absorbed the Dark Ones, they were converted into pure energy.

But with the Gods of Destruction, what flooded him was an overwhelming torrent of divine power.

He tried pouring it into his pocket dimension. The space ballooned instantly, swelling in moments into something he could no longer even gauge, teetering on the edge of collapse.

So he reinforced it with divine power.

Once reinforced, it expanded again.

Reinforce, expand.

Expand, reinforce.

Over and over like kneading dough: too much flour, add water; too much water, add flour.

But for him, it was a meaningless loop.

What was the point of making his pocket space that huge?

To store an entire universe?

It was worthless to him right now!

That kind of consumption was a drop in the ocean. The divine power inside him only continued to pile up higher and higher.

Every single cell in his body felt swollen and painful under the pressure!

Divine power had to have more uses.

But without a clean path to spend it, he was being forced toward a body-bursting end.

Chronoa's body trembled. "Y-you… you want to do what you did last time and dump the excess divine power into me?"

"What, you can't?"

"I mean… I can." Chronoa hesitated. "Lately my workload's been insane. I've burned through a lot of divine power. I've been stretched thin…"

Then she hardened her face and refused anyway. "But I'm not going to become your accomplice. I'm not going to sink to your level "

Levos didn't bother arguing. He slapped a palm onto her shoulder and forced that painful, bloated divine power into her body.

"Ngh!" Chronoa's eyes flew open. "What are you doing?! I said I didn't want it!"

She tried to wrench free and bolt.

But the sensation of her dried-up reserves instantly flooding full again was… indescribably refreshing.

Her escape froze in place.

"Damn it! Don't do this kind of thing without consent!" Chronoa fumed.

But then she thought about it most of the divine power she'd lost had been spent patching disasters in this time-space anyway. And just like that, her resistance softened.

"Slow down, okay?! If you keep flooding me like this, I'll explode too!" she snapped at Levos.

"I already am slow!" Levos barked back. "Don't just stand there move!"

He was desperate. Really desperate.

Through nine tails, waves of immense divine power were pouring into him nonstop.

What he'd pushed into Chronoa was less than one-tenth. Nowhere near enough to stabilize the situation.

Right now, Levos was basically a reservoir that needed emergency drainage channels.

If Chronoa couldn't spend the power, then that "outlet" was effectively clogged. It wouldn't buy him time at all.

Chronoa also realized just how urgent it had become. She immediately began repairing the fractures and tears in the void.

A few moments later, she sank into the sensation of not needing to conserve divine power at all something she'd never experienced before.

She ran sealing, restoring, reinforcing every procedure in a full cycle, far more thorough than the earlier quick patches.

Seeing her finally move on her own, Levos let out a small breath.

Then his eyes shifted to Puar and the four little Cell Jrs.

"Puar will endure as much as she can, Master Levos!"

"Ji-ji!"

Levos nodded sharply. "If you can't handle it, don't force it. Getting blown apart by divine power is not a joke."

They all nodded in unison.

Levos didn't hesitate. He grabbed their hands.

He sent a small amount first, testing.

When he confirmed they had some tolerance, he began increasing the flow.

But it still wasn't enough. Not even close.

Levos immediately teleported everyone back into the Cube.

"Everyone hold my hand."

Levos hadn't even explained yet, but the others already guessed why. They'd been through something like this with him before.

Goku, Piccolo, and Buu didn't hesitate for a second, placing their hands into Levos's palm.

"Frieza, you're not coming?"

"This is a rare chance to obtain divine power…" Frieza hesitated for a heartbeat, then grit his teeth and put his hand in too.

He deliberately avoided touching Goku and Piccolo.

But

Levos's big hand clenched, crushing all their hands together. Their bodies were forced into a tight cluster.

The instant Frieza found himself face-to-face with Goku cheek pressed to cheek his scalp practically exploded.

Beside them, Vados raised a brow. "Levos, as far as I know, transferring divine power doesn't require holding hands."

"That's right." Levos nodded. "As long as you're in contact with my body, it works."

"Then why are you making us hold your hand?" Frieza demanded immediately.

"Maybe it's to strengthen team unity." Vados smiled sweetly.

One glance at the utter disgust on Frieza's face and Levos instantly understood the real problem.

Goku-and-Frieza pressed together like this honestly looked weirdly like a ship.

If it weren't an emergency, Levos would've taken a picture for memories.

But this was life-or-death. He had no time to tease.

So he tossed out the first excuse that came to mind. "It helps me control the flow of divine power."

"Alright everyone, focus. I'm starting!" Levos warned, voice hard.

Just then, a slender hand rested on his body.

"The Grand Priest sealed my angelic power. I'd like to borrow a little divine power too." Vados said calmly.

Levos looked at her in surprise. He hadn't expected an Angel to involve herself in this.

"Thank you, Miss Vados!"

As his words fell, Levos erupted in dazzling radiance and began pouring divine power into everyone at once.
