As divine power poured into their bodies, Goku and the others were all shaken to the core.
"There's clearly a force flowing around inside me, but I can't catch it, can't use it… it's incredible!"
"It feels completely different from ki, but somehow the principles feel connected. Divine power… is this what the gods see?"
"Hmph. Divine power? In my opinion, it's nothing special."
After a round of sensing and probing, none of them found any way to wield or even spend the divine power. They could only let it pile up inside them like a flood with nowhere to go.
Thick white radiance wrapped their bodies, and behind them, a hazy circular outline grew brighter and clearer.
It didn't take long before someone hit their limit, every inch of their body swollen with unbearable pain.
Piccolo was the first to pull his arm back.
"Sorry, Levos… I really can't take it anymore."
"That's fine. Pulling out in time is the smartest choice." Levos hadn't expected them to burn through much divine power in the first place. The main goal was to open a brand-new path to strength for his companions.
As he spoke, his gaze sharpened and flicked to Goku and Frieza.
Those two were obviously already at capacity, yet they were still secretly competing waiting for the other to quit first.
In truth, Levos knew everyone's limits. While pouring the divine power, he had been carefully controlling the output so he wouldn't suddenly shove them off a cliff into instant danger.
Aside from Chronoa and Vados two people he could safely flood at full power there was one more person whose tolerance exceeded even Levos's expectations.
Buu had his mouth wide open, wearing a blissed-out, intoxicated expression.
Levos couldn't even judge where Buu's limit was. He only knew it was already far beyond Puar's.
It left him genuinely puzzled.
"Is it his special constitution… or is it because the Grand Supreme Kai is inside him?"
Before he could figure it out, the others began reaching their limits one after another, teetering on the edge of bursting.
Sweat pouring down, Goku and Frieza panted as they glared at each other.
"Son Goku, give up already." Frieza let out a low grunt. "If you can't hold divine power, then don't force it!"
"Heh-heh… you're still forcing it too." Goku grit his teeth and squeezed out a smile.
"Both of you stop forcing it!"
Piccolo barked, brows knotted. "Levos's divine power hasn't decreased at all. If we don't find another way, everyone is going to die!"
Hearing that, the two of them, unwilling as they were, slowly began pulling their hands back.
"What a pity." Frieza was suffering so badly it felt like needles were stabbing every cell in his body, yet he still refused to lose face. "I wanted to see you get blown apart by divine power. That would've been beautiful. Why'd you stop forcing it?"
Goku froze mid-withdrawal. "Aren't you the one who stopped forcing it too?"
"You two have forced it enough!" Levos snapped.
He cut off the divine power supply immediately and flung the two freeloaders Goku and Frieza away.
"Chronoa! Faster!"
At this point, the only ones still able to endure Levos's divine power were Chronoa and Vados.
And Buu, for reasons unknown, had passed out meaning he could no longer share the burden at all!
"I can't! I can't hold any more!"
Chronoa's face scrunched up in misery as she shook her head. "The divine power in you is terrifying like it never ends! I can't use it up! I can't!"
"She's right." Vados sighed softly. "Absorbing Gods of Destruction was an unbelievably bold move. The energy inside them is… frighteningly vast. Even I can't resolve this alone. I can store a bit more than she can, but the situation is still worsening too fast."
Was he really going to have to give up?
Levos's eyes locked onto Chronoa.
"In that incident last time… were you serious about that fusion proposal?"
Now that he knew Vados possessed a separation technique, Levos was no longer as resistant to fusing with Chronoa as he had been before.
If it could resolve the crisis in front of him, it was worth trying!
Chronoa's eyes widened.
"No way! I'm not fusing with you!"
Levos frowned. "That's not what you said last time."
"This mess is your fault!" Chronoa muttered. "Why should I be the one sacrificed? And besides even if we fuse, it still won't fix it!"
"Is there really no way…"
Levos could already feel every cell in his body running at full speed, pushing toward divine evolution. But at this rate, it was clearly a process that would take a long time nothing like the instant leaps his other transformations achieved.
Vados seemed to read his struggle. "A change in the level of life isn't so easy…"
Hearing that, Levos could only accept reality with a bitter breath.
Ever since he'd crossed into this world, crisis had stalked him like a shadow. Especially after he learned not long ago that Merus had lost to Moro, the pressure in his chest had tightened even more.
He wanted to get stronger desperately.
That was why he'd risked everything on this gamble.
If he won, every danger around him would crumble away.
But now…
He'd lost the bet.
Just as Levos steeled himself ready to cut off his own body like a warrior severing a limb Chronoa suddenly spoke.
"If you agree to come with me, there is one way."
"Come with you?" Levos narrowed his eyes. "Where?"
"I'm not going to trick you into going somewhere empty so you can explode." Chronoa shot him a glare. "In the Time Nest, my pet and my best friend Tokitoki has an incredible ability. He can help you share some of the pressure."
Then she added, "The Time Nest also hasn't been reinforced with divine power in a lot of years. That's why someone managed to break in so easily last time…"
Alright. Great.
Levos hadn't expected the day he'd be treated like a walking power bank.
Still, it was a sliver of hope so he needed to be sure.
"How long will we be gone? And does the Time Nest's time flow differ from here?"
"You're about to explode and you're still asking all that?" Chronoa puffed her cheeks, then explained everything anyway.
The Time Nest was positioned somewhere convenient for monitoring the movements of all timelines. Its time flow matched the outside world. And how long he stayed was up to him.
The only condition was simple.
Don't explode in the Time Nest.
With that in mind, Chronoa removed one earring and placed it solemnly into Levos's hand.
"If you're really about to blow, put it on. After fusion, you'll at least be able to drag it out a little longer!"
Only then did Levos finally relax.
He turned quickly to his companions to give instructions.
"Vados, take everyone back first. I'll be back in three days at most!"
Three days was the absolute deadline Levos set for himself and also the time it would take the Cube to return to Earth.
"Put your hand on my back." Chronoa urged.
"Do you really not need me to come?" Vados blinked.
Levos looked at her, deadpan. "I don't exactly have another chance to make a wish to the Grand Priest."
"Oh, right. You could try converting divine power into divine ki and storing it in your pocket space "
Before she could finish, the two of them vanished.
"…I wonder if he heard me." Vados sighed softly, then guided the Cube and set course for Universe 7.
