Chapter 128: Appearing One After Another
A sword light streaked across the sky, tearing through the firmament. A clear hum echoed through the clouds, making the heavens dim in comparison.
Aokiji watched the flashing blade, his pupils constricting, his expression growing ever more serious. He could clearly feel that the double-edged sword aimed at his head was not simply wreathed in Conqueror's Haki. It was also coated in a thin layer of golden light, its radiance dazzling, giving off a holy color, yet it was so chilling it was like being plunged into an ice cave.
"Devil Fruit abilities are such a pain!" Aokiji dared not be careless. He decisively mobilized the surging Haki throughout his body to resist the unknown Devil Fruit ability. At the same time, Aokiji's slender hand clenched into a fist and quickly froze over, forming an indestructible ice glove, which was then dyed black by his extremely powerful Armament Haki.
Arcs of Haki lightning burst forth, crackling around Aokiji's slightly thin frame and scattering the clouds and mist that had once again rolled in from the distance.
"It's better not to get too close to such a strange ability!" Facing the incomparably sharp strike, which seemed to want to sever life itself, Aokiji's gaze was stern. His right fist, wreathed in Haki lightning, suddenly shot out.
The Haki lightning burst forth and, combined with the iron fist technique inherited from Garp, created a powerful punch-gale capable of collapsing mountains and piercing islands.
SWOOSH—
The extremely fierce, almost unstoppable punch-gale actually created a vacuum zone several thousand meters long in the atmosphere, directly enveloping Louis, who was holding his sword and spear.
Before the blow even landed, the powerful Haki and pressure had already locked onto Louis, attempting to suppress his movements.
To this, Louis was unconcerned. He raised his hand and swung his sword. A sharp sword-wind flashed and, in an instant, split Aokiji's punch-gale in two, letting it fall onto the endless glacier. The punch-gale, surrounded by Haki lightning, fell into the glacier in two parts, and the powerful force contained within it suddenly exploded.
BOOM—
With one blow, the entire glacier tilted. Canyon-like cracks instantly spread across its entirety, causing the countless people fighting on its surface to kneel, almost falling over.
On the battlefield, everyone was horrified. They looked up at the sky, and became even more terrified. As far as the eye could see, chunks of icebergs, hundreds of meters in size, were thrown into the air, as if a group of suspended ice islands had occupied the sky, blotting out the sun.
On one of the two exceptionally large warships adjacent to the glacier, a golden flash appeared and vanished. A tall, thin middle-aged man with a slightly cheeky face casually put down a woman in a white suit with a special mask on her face. He looked at the shattered icebergs in the sky with a strange expression.
"Oooh, how scary~ That's the kind of power only monsters have~"
As his words fell, he looked at the relatively shorter woman beside him and said meaningfully, "Agent, can your ability be of any use? Even Vice Admiral Garp was troubled by the opponent's defense!"
To this, the female agent in the white suit pushed up the mask on her face, her tone devoid of any inflection. "As long as the two Admirals can exhaust the opponent's stamina and Haki, there will be no problem!"
High above, Louis moved at high speed with a brilliant golden fiery trail. Wherever he passed, the still-falling icebergs were all cut down, turning into hair-sized ice mist that rained down.
In the blink of an eye, Louis had instantly closed in on Aokiji. The blade, shrouded in a pale golden light and wreathed in black and red arcs of electricity, was swung.
CLANG—
Aokiji subconsciously swung his fist, wanting to block the sword, but the feedback from his Observation Haki made him abandon the thought. He decisively activated his elemental state, scattering to get away from the dangerous blade.
The blade missed, cutting through the clouds and mist in the air, looking as if the entire sky had been torn apart.
"Ice Block: Partisan!" Aokiji condensed beside Louis, and an ice spear containing an endless chill was thrust out like a bolt of lightning.
Louis beat his wings, and the searing flames propelled him. He cut a perfect golden arc, instantly flying over Aokiji's head. His sharp spear swept out, aiming straight for Aokiji's head.
"So fast!" Aokiji only saw a flash of golden light, and Louis's figure had already disappeared from his field of vision, a fatal sense of crisis coming from above his head. With no time to think, Aokiji could only mobilize his powerful Haki and, following the guidance of his Observation, throw a punch.
CLANG—
Flesh met steel, yet it was met with the sound of clashing metal, which echoed in everyone's ears. Black and red lightning burst forth, piercing through the entire battlefield and hanging high in the sky, forming a giant black and red web that covered the entire firmament.
SWOOSH—
The thin figure cut through the air, falling straight into the fierce battlefield below at several times the speed of sound.
BOOM!
A human meteor fell from the sky, crashing directly into the glacier which was already riddled with canyon-like fissures. The impact created a web of cracks that stretched for several thousand meters, and a large part of the glacier collapsed.
A spear, about four meters long with a teardrop-shaped blade, was embedded deep in a buckled, plate-like iceberg. A brown liquid flowed out, dyeing a small patch of the ice.
"Kuzan?!"
"Admiral Aokiji!"
At the edge of the huge pit, a series of panicked shouts rang out.
Amidst the shouts, at the very center of the impact point, a visible cold current rose, converging beside a group of Marines to form Aokiji's figure. He was panting slightly. He looked at the place where the spear had landed, his gaze becoming more and more grim.
"Arara—"
"So a Devil Fruit's ability is still more dangerous than Conqueror's Coating." Aokiji raised a withered, bruised-black hand that was dripping a brown liquid, a shadow of gloom flashing in his eyes.
"No! Only Haki can decide everything!"
Under the watchful eyes of all, the figure clad in gold and red armor, with flawless white wings spread, slowly landed beside the spear.
Louis's face was calm, his body tall and straight. Under the gazes of admiration, anger, and terror, he slightly raised the Seven Star Sword. A terrifying Conqueror's Haki was wreathed around its blade. The Haki surged, and black and red arcs of electricity coiled around his body, almost changing the face of the colorful world, turning it into a world of blood.
The tangible Haki burst forth, turning the demonic and chilling Seven Star Sword into a Sword of Blazing Flame that spewed black and red fire.
A scarlet light flashed in Louis's eyes. He turned sideways with a seemingly slow speed, letting a golden flash graze past him. With a backhand swing, he cut out a streak of black and red light, meeting a destructive laser beam head-on.
BOOM—
A semicircular light rose again as a devastating explosion erupted in the distance.
Louis slowly turned his head and looked up at the figure not far away, who had one hand in his pocket, a slightly cheeky face, and an extremely punchable aura.
"Oooh, how scary~"
"Sword skills that can almost split the sky... that's very rare!" Marine Admiral Kizaru spoke in a very frightened tone, but his face showed no sign of panic. He quickly extended the Ama no Murakumo sword from his palm and flashed toward Louis to attack.
To this, Louis ignored the light clone that was speaking and, with a slight turn of his head, dodged the real Kizaru's light-speed kick. He raised the Sword of Blazing Flame formed from his Conqueror's Haki and mercilessly slashed down.
At the edge of the glacier, a group of Marine soldiers, shivering from the extreme cold, gathered together with unwilling expressions. They looked at the battlefield, from which a violent roar was coming, and subconsciously clenched their fists. "Damn it!"
SWOOSH—BOOM! Just then, a figure as burly as a small mountain descended from the sky, landing in the most densely packed area of the soldiers and sending them flying.
In the ice mist, a figure about nine meters tall with messy long hair slowly stood up, its wings slowly folding. In the vigilant eyes of the elite Marine soldiers, two large, brown hands reached out from the cold ice mist and grabbed the bodies of several Rear Admirals.
"RIIIIP!"
"AAARGH!!"
The chilling sound of tearing and a piercing, desperate scream sounded one after another, echoing around the Marine soldiers.
In the area least affected by the polar storm, the sky was covered with dark clouds. Section after section of a deep blue body was faintly visible within the ink-black clouds.
Below the dark clouds, the three parties in a tense standoff simultaneously looked up, their faces ashen as they looked at the terrifying figure looming in the sky.
