Chapter 126: Died Once
The Hero's Spear fell like a meteorite, crashing down towards where the Marine forces stood.
The Vice Admirals' faces changed drastically. They drew their weapons and rushed forward to block the blow.
On a glacier formed from a frozen wave in the distance, Aokiji watched the scene unfold, his face devoid of panic, showing no intention of intervening. This was because Aokiji knew the strength of the old senior, a veteran from the same era as Commander-in-Chief Kong. Although he was old and his destructive power was less than that of the other Vice Admirals present, thanks to his top-tier Armament Haki and decades of accumulated combat experience, he was still more than capable of sweeping through the Vice Admirals participating in this operation. Facing the giant's punch, it was naturally not a problem.
The next moment, Aokiji's thoughts were confirmed.
The graying flag officer swished his Justice cape, leaped high, and, with the speed of a thunderclap, threw a right punch wreathed in Armament Haki. A majestic Haki was emitted from his body, creating black Haki lightning in mid-air that met Hajrudin's massive, flaming fist.
BOOM—
The punch from the powerful Marine admiral was thrown without reservation. The tide of battle was turned in an instant. It directly tore bloody, twisted gashes in Hajrudin's arm, fracturing the bones in several places and sending his massive body flying.
The intense pain made Hajrudin's face contort, and he subconsciously clenched his jaw. He twisted his body in mid-air, and his feet landed on the glacier, digging two deep tracks before he managed to steady himself.
After regaining his footing, Hajrudin looked at the white-haired admiral who was slowly landing on the ice not far away, his eyes filled with the joy of meeting a strong enemy. The powerful foe before him made the warrior's blood in his veins boil, and the excitement overshadowed the intense pain from his fractured arm.
Just then, Daz Bonez jumped onto a small iceberg beside Hajrudin, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him. His eyes, as he looked at the figure in the Justice cape, were filled with apprehension and caution.
"This person is very strong. It might be difficult for the two of us to defeat him, even if we team up."
"That's true. Although he looks so old he barely has any teeth left, his Haki is unbelievably strong," Hajrudin said, trying to suppress his urge to charge in blindly as he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.
Just then, a series of giant footsteps drew near. Gerd and the others' figures slowly emerged from the ice mist whipped up by the storm and came to their side.
"In that case, you two can deal with that unbelievably strong Vice Admiral!" Gerd's gaze fell on the flag officers in front, and she said with a smile, "Leave those small-fry Marines to us!"
"Don't be careless. Those Vice Admirals are world-famous masters. You're no match for them!" Hajrudin said in a deep voice, his gaze never leaving the old man.
To this, Gerd and the others exchanged glances. Finally, Goldberg shouldered his kanabō and gave a simple and honest smile. "What's the big deal? Isn't fighting enemies stronger than ourselves what we seek?"
The arrival of Gerd and the others caused a subtle change in the expressions of the Marine flag officers.
"Has the Giant Squad been completely wiped out?"
"Defeated by fellow giants who are pirates—"
As the words fell, Onigumo, Doberman, and the others used Soru and instantly disappeared, attacking the newly arrived giants from various directions to avenge their comrades.
At almost the same time, the base commander of G-1 looked up at Daz Bonez and Hajrudin, his face filled with disgust. "Pirates, you'd better just sink here!"
"Soru!"
The white figure, accompanied by the subtle sound of disturbed air, crossed the ice, instantly bypassing the three Vice Admirals who had attacked first.
Hajrudin and the other saw this and met him head-on without showing any weakness.
In an instant, the entire ice surface echoed with a deafening roar. A raging airflow was kicked up, disrupting the storm, and a powerful shockwave swept away the sky-blotting ice mist, sending it flying for thousands of meters.
Onigumo, using his Life Return technique to control six longswords; Doberman, holding a sword in each hand; and Red King, swinging his fists wreathed in Armament Haki, crossed the battlefield. They launched extremely fierce attacks on the three giants led by Gerd from different directions.
"..."
To this, Gerd and the others showed no fear at all. They raised their respective weapons and swung them violently, unleashing fierce attacks in the atmosphere to knock the three Vice Admirals down.
However, Onigumo and the other two were all battle-hardened veterans with a great deal of experience fighting giant opponents. Relying on techniques like Geppo and Soru to move quickly, they easily dodged the giant weapons and left bloody gashes on the giants' bodies.
"These guys are too fast!" Road shouted, his shoulder now sporting a twisted gash.
To this, Onigumo leaped high into the air. The six longswords controlled by his hair extended forward, and together with the katanas in his hands, he assumed an offensive posture. "Even in a head-on clash, the outcome of this battle will not change!" Onigumo laughed mercilessly, diving at high speed with Geppo, aiming straight for Road's head.
Gerd and the others saw this and wanted to turn back to defend, but they were firmly blocked by Doberman and Red King. They could only watch helplessly as Onigumo swung his eight longswords, cutting a bloody wound across Road's neck, from which blood gushed out like a fountain.
Road's poor performance made Goldberg so angry he couldn't help but curse, "Road, you bastard, how did you screw up again?!"
Red King saw this and slammed a fist on the giant shield, a mocking look on his face. "You should worry about yourself! After he's dead, it'll be your turn!"
"Dead?" A meaningful smile appeared on Goldberg's face. He then violently swung his even larger shield, smashing Red King directly into the glacier. "We will certainly be killed, but you... do not have that ability!"
The next moment, a rain of golden light fell from the sky, enveloping Road's body. A massive surge of life force burst forth, rapidly healing the wounds all over his body.
The anger returned to Road's previously whitened eyes. He spun around and swung his giant longsword straight at the shocked Onigumo.
To this, Goldberg, while swinging his giant kanabō at Red King, spoke in a tone of disappointed exasperation, "Road, do you have to take a beating before you can unleash your power?"
Having died once, Road did not reply, but silently swung his longsword, launching a ferocious assault on Onigumo.
On the other side, Aokiji looked at the giant who had been revived to full health under the rain of light, and his brow furrowed tightly. "Louis is watching this place." This was Aokiji's first reaction.
Then, he prepared to test his theory. He raised a hand, and the cold air burst forth, forging two sharp ice spears out of thin air, which he then shot toward Hajrudin's back.
