Chpt. 3: The Meeting of Gods

In a realm unseen by mortals and darkness[1] lied a divinely covered table and chairs. Each chair with symbols of which god shall sit upon it. Slowly, some shadowed figures slowly walked towards the table to take their seat.

"Well, well, a meeting after such a long time?" One of them said.

"Quiet your tongue fool. This pointless meeting is not a game for you to enjoy." Another snapped.

"Don't you ever get along you lovebirds." Came from clearly that of a feminine voice.

"Now, now." Another chimed in flipping a coin in the air back and fourth. "You know just as well as me that teasing them will not help them progress their feelings of romance."

"That's quite enough of your childish antics you all. Have you forgotten that one of our fellow companions have fallen?! All thanks to that anomaly." Another shouted reclaiming the peace.

A beautiful light shun down revealing the forms of the gods as there lied a beautiful blue moon looking down onto them.

"We could be facing a catastrophe soon and we have no way of knowing what that thing is planning on doing. So stop acting like we have all the time in the world because that's simply INCORRECT." The same one continued.

A slow clap was then heard as it vibrated through the air. A beautiful young woman with golden eyes and elf ears, wearing a knee-length moonlight dress with gold accents and black stocking along with dark blue high heels held a book in between her arms as she clapped.

"Now that most of us are here I'd like to start attendance." She said in an angelic voice.

"Shizukari, The God of Nihility." She then said.

"I am present." The god made completely of some sort of black goop yet maintained a perfect human form said raising his hand.

"The Fool, The God of Freedom."

"I am here of course." The god with curly long black hair who was looked deceptively close to a human who had a a happy theater face mask perched on his head said smiling at Shizukari.

Shizukari knew better than to get riled up however and so kept his mouth shut.

"Esteria, Goddess of Order." She continued.

"Present and would you please stop that you love bird, if you want to flirt with Kari do it later." A woman with her eyes closed wearing a long white elegant dress with black earrings and a white lily in her long white hair said.

"Aw, no fun." The Fool said in a whiney tone.

"Regalith, God of Probability." She said ignoring the random banter.

"Here, as always." A man wearing a gold accented gambler's hat and well dressed tuxedo said throwing his coin in the air again.

"Rin, Goddess of Knowledge."

"I am here." An elegant yet refined young lady wearing what seemed to be a crown on her head depicting that of the crown worn by the queen chess piece.

"Hexala, Goddess of Infinity."

"I am here." A being said who seemed to have a Hexacontakaihexagon as their head and an nicely beautiful suit.

"Neburek, God of Justice."

"I am here as well." A tanned muscular man said in an Egyptian-like attire with a uniquely designed nemes headcloth on his head.

"Irradiax, God of Energy."

"Present." A being said made completely of radiant energy, which felt quite nuclear and radiated.

"Lastly, Zephrya, Goddess of Illusions." She said finally ending the attendance

"Here madam." A woman with long blonde hair and her face blurred by mist said.

"With that your meeting may begin." The lady said before disappearing.

Shizukari let out a exasperated sigh. "It's her own damn fault for getting killed."

"You did not just say that!" Esteria said.

"Don't take it to heart Esteria, you know just like the rest of us he is completely numb to such emotions such as compassion." Regalith added.

"I understand however, that doesn't mean he's free to say whatever he pleases. Orthopla, Goddess of Transformation died and what did that thing do? It took her land and corrupted it! Which is why I'll never forgive that thing and why well crush it." Rin piled on.

"I understand that however, there's not much we can do currently." Zephrya said.

"Shouldn't we exterminate the remaining anomalies? The Anti-Anomaly Equation won't delete anomalies that existed before it's birth correct? So shouldn't we put them out of commission before they grow in a higher anomaly level and join the dark lord?" Irradiax proposed.

"Why not get them on our side?" Regalith counter-proposed.

"Why would we do that? That's a horrible gamble in it of itself. Plus after we've already deleted anomalies before you think they would ever worship a god?" Rin added.

"You have a point there, how much anomalies remain would you say?" Hexala asked.

"I think it's about exactly twelve. All of them a bit hard to trace however, most of the twelve are Rank I or II anomalies. Only one among them is Rank III, however that one is the hardest one to track and I can't tell why." Rin answered.

"We have time to spare, so we'll all try to eliminate the remaining anomalies. After which we can then start thinking of ways to defeat the dark lord. It doesn't seem like he'll be making a move for a long while." Zephrya said.

They all unanimously agreed. After all, if there truly were anomalies that could help the dark lord become stronger or become disasters themselves it would be quite troublesome.

"Now about that prophecy we got oh so long ago with the birth of the Anti-Anomaly Equation. Are we still unable to decipher the rest of it?" Rin asked.

"Seems like it." Shizukari said shrugging.

"I still don't get it! Why would the "Prophets[2] from the almighty above give us such a prophecy. It's great that we may all bear witness to a hero, however that doesn't tell us if he stays alive nor what else is to come!" Rin continued.

"Our apostles are somewhat exempted from that stupid Anti-Hero Protocol, but that's only somewhat. If that system detects them under hero three times it's over for them!" Rin piled on.

"Oh, right. I forgot to mention, I let my apostle have fun at the dark lord land." The Fool said with a happy clearly faking obliviousness.

"You what!?" Esteria & Rin shouted.

"What if that causes the dark lord to act?! What then!" Esteria asked quite upset.

"He won't. my apostle knows what she's doing." The Fool said with a smirk.

"Enough of this. Let's end our meeting short right here. I have some planning to do." Rin said.

"Before we end it, I'd like to warn everyone. I sense something disturbing on the way. Something capable of causing disaster upon this land so I'd recommend you all be careful." Shizukari added before standing up.

"Gotcha, if your saying that it must be important." The Fool said letting a chuckle.

Shizukari let out a tsk before taking his leave. The rest of the gods stood up as well, before giving their goodbyes and heading into their own divine realm. The only one remaining one being Rin.

"Oh Supreme One, In the name of knowledge I will win this war and bring peace to your world as your blessed creation. Sometimes though, I wonder if Melody[3], one of your apostle knows anything about your disappearance or is in the dark like us as well." Rin said before finally getting up and leaving to her own divine realm.

Meanwhile in the land of Ashviel, a certain cheeky apostle was having her fun, in the City Lodon[4]. Lodon is an ogre city to the very south of the central city of Lethon, It is a city that was founded by an ogre but became home to many other races like Giants, Lizardfolks, and many varieties of beast folks and others of that nature.

In a dark alley where no one is.

"The guards were pretty simple to get past. Those giants were sort of amateurish at best. I don't think people like demi-humans at least not most of them anyways." Alena said before sighing.

This world ever since being thrown into chaos has truly unraveled. Oh well, I'll do my best to discover some secrets around this city then move into the central. I don't think the Dark Lord should catch me. Alena thought to herself.

"Matters not. I'll learn some good information for The Fool." Alena said to herself before shapeshifting into a female lizardmen and continuing to walking through the city.

As she explored the city up and down, she noticed nothing out of the ordinary nor any good rumors running around. As if nothing of importance was been told or leaked. Alena decided to take a small break on the roof of a house. She of course was invisible to not expose her presence.

"Ugh, how is there absolutely nothing?" Alena thought as she laid on the roof a bit tired.

Suddenly a voice broke through her thinking.

"Hey, guess what!" A young female ogre said running up to her friend.

"Hm? What is it?" The young male ogre who was being called out to said who was collecting clothes from the line before he turned his head.

"Aedis is leaving the village meaning he's definitely going to pass by here!" The young female ogre said.

"Really?! We should definitely greet him then when he passes by! It's been a while since we moved! Do you know when he'll reach here?" The young male ogre replied.

The young female ogre shook her head in no motion.

"My mother said it took us about two or three days to reach this place but knowing Aedis it should only take a day or two." She followed up with.

"Gotcha, shouldn't we get him some going away gifts? I bet the other villagers did." The young male ogre.

"Right! Wanna shop together?" The young female ogre said.

"Sure!" The young male ogre said.

After their conversation they swiftly left to go look for a good gift for Aedis.

Aedis? Who's that? Someone important? Then why isn't anyone else talking about it? Is it a demon general that I haven't heard about that's only liked by children? If so it might be a good idea to track him down and see what he was ordered to do. Alena thought to herself.

Oh how the future is looking so ever slightly funnier!~ Doesn't it oh fool? I really do hope your strong Aedis otherwise I might accidentally kill you.
