Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Hell is Empty, and All the Devils Are Here

On the streets and in the sky, countless hideous and terrifyingly bizarre creatures stood densely packed, stretching as far as the eye could see, an endless, overwhelming mass.

It was as if this was a world of the bizarre, and humans were the anomalies.

Humanoid figures shrouded entirely in shadow, without any facial features, walked the streets.

Headless giants, comparable in size to tall buildings, moved between them.

Bloody figures, their skin completely peeled off, floated beneath massive, eyeless heads suspended in mid-air, their necks connected to countless scarlet tentacles. There were also countless other bizarre beings of various shapes, their bodies deformed, their faces twisted like malevolent spirits, drifting like dandelions in the wind.

But compared to the bizarre beings above the firmament, these were on an entirely different level.

Above the dome of the sky, a pair of enormous, pure white wings blotted out the sun, their whiteness so pristine they resembled the wings of an angel.

However, these wings were connected to a single eye filled with blood vessels and fleshy polyps.

This single eye was so large it seemed to dwarf the sun, radiating an eerie red light filled with oppression, taboo, and ominousness.

In the distant sky, a bride dressed in a red wedding gown stood tall, a large "囍" character embroidered on her chest. Her figure was slender and delicate, her pale hands elegantly folded in front of her.

It sounded normal enough, yet this bride had the head of a rabbit!

The fur on the rabbit's head was flawlessly white, without a single blemish, and its eyes were blood-red, like two rubies. A human-like smile adorned its face.

Bizarre, extremely bizarre.

Clearly a rabbit's head, yet it exuded the air of a cultured young lady from an ancient noble family, as if she were truly an exceptionally refined and beautiful bride.

Besides these two, there were even more deformed and indescribable bizarre entities.

A grayish-white, slimy behemoth, its entire body covered in densely packed eyeballs that constantly burst like bubbles, only for new ones to grow from the flesh in a never-ending cycle.

An entirely black Buddha head, solemn and dignified, but covered in fleshy tumors.

Formless substances, black mist containing countless screaming human faces.

A massive and eerie clay statue of a deity.

Each one was incredibly taboo, terrifying, and incomprehensible.

These bizarre beings above the firmament formed a scene of immense impact. Their bodies seemed to constantly emit countless unspeakable, incomprehensible, filthy yet real streams of information that ceaselessly assaulted Fang Xiu's soul.

At that moment, he seemed to hear countless whispers filled with evil and depravity, voices no human could produce, each syllable containing enough contamination to drive one mad.

If it were the Fang Xiu from before, just a single glance would probably have caused him to collapse.

But the current Fang Xiu had already died eighteen times, eaten alive eighteen times. If souls truly existed, then his would have long been twisted beyond recognition by death, madness, and hatred.

These bizarre entities, while terrifying, were not enough to shatter his mind. Instead, they only made his soul more twisted and insane. Or perhaps, his mind had always been on the verge of collapse, and this spiritual pollution was merely a form of baptism for him.

"Heh... hahaha..."

"Hahahahaha..."

Fang Xiu suddenly couldn't help but burst into laughter, but his laughter was extremely twisted and suppressed, as if forcibly squeezed from his throat, sending shivers down one's spine.

He didn't know why, but seeing the world full of bizarre creatures made him want to laugh, uncontrollably.

He didn't want the bizarre beings to notice his abnormality, so he covered his mouth, but the twisted laughter still escaped through his fingers.

So he could only lower his head, his pale face obscured by the shadows, but they couldn't hide the burning, insane gleam in his eyes.

"Interesting... this world is truly too interesting! Hahaha..."

"Cough cough..."

The violent laughter made him cough uncontrollably, but the more he coughed, the more violently he laughed, leading to even more violent coughing, until he even started to retch.

Just then, a childish voice, sounding like a toddler, rang out from the side.

"Uncle, what's wrong? Are you sick?"

Fang Xiu turned his head to look.

He saw a little girl, about four or five years old, with pigtails and sucking on a lollipop, looking at him with a curious expression.

He wasn't surprised by the little girl's appearance. According to the memories of his predecessor, he knew that this world looked normal on the surface. People lived normal lives, going to school, working, getting married, and having children.

It seemed that no one knew about the existence of these bizarre beings.

So, it was normal for a little girl to appear in the residential area.

He tried his best to restrain his laughter and make himself look kinder.

"I'm fine, little sister. You should call me big brother."

Fang Xiu reached out his hand, wanting to pat the cute little girl's head. Once upon a time, he had also dreamed of having a lovely daughter.

However, the little girl's next words made his hand freeze in mid-air.

"You can see me!"

The innocence on the little girl's face instantly vanished, replaced by a suppressed, insane joy that was exactly the same as his own.

Fang Xiu was slightly stunned, then burst into uncontrollable laughter again.

"Hahaha... interesting! This is too interesting."

This time, he laughed until tears streamed down his face.

Snap!

He pressed his hand heavily on the little girl's head, vigorously ruffling her hair.

But the next moment, his hand was thrown off.

Because the little girl was inflating madly at a speed visible to the naked eye. Her originally small body expanded like a balloon. Countless scarlet flesh gushed out, constantly squeezing out from within.

In the blink of an eye, the innocent and cute little girl had turned into a bizarre creature of flesh and blood more than two meters tall, like a mountain of meat composed of countless exposed muscles and covered in densely packed blood vessels.

Her two pigtails had become two thick, black horns, and the lollipop in her hand had turned into a white bone club, seemingly the leg bone of some unknown creature.

"You can see me!!"

The little girl roared madly.

Fang Xiu looked at her, laughing, the light flickering in his eyes seeming even more insane than the bizarre creature before him.

"Compared to how you looked before, I still prefer you like this, because... this way, there won't be any burden when I kill you later."

The little girl roared, raising the white bone club, which was taller than a person. The shadow cast by the club completely enveloped Fang Xiu, like the shadow of death.

But Fang Xiu was still laughing: "Now I finally know why I wanted to laugh, because there are simply too many bizarre beings like you, so many that I'm excited! So many that I don't have to worry about not having enough to kill in the future!

Hahaha... all of you... must! die!!!"

Bang!

The white bone club crashed down heavily, and Fang Xiu was instantly smashed into a pulp of flesh and blood.
