"Don't rush in. We need to confirm the number of infected first," Lin Qiye said.
Gu Tianchen held his Han sword, blood dripping onto the floor.
At his feet lay a headless serpent spawn, its bloody head split open.
"You didn't… already start, did you? That'll alert them!" Lin Qiye said.
"You guessed it. It's definitely a snake," Gu Tianchen replied.
"We found shed skin—likely a serpent demon. Xiangnan, figure out what this thing is," Hongying said.
Miles from No. 2 High, in a blood-soaked rental apartment, Chen Muye held a bloody straight sword, Wu Xiangnan looking grim beside him.
"Stop rushing me, I'm looking. You guys clear the school's infected. I'll have Leng Xuan set up Unrestrained Void Domain outside to trap the host," Wu Xiangnan said.
"Got it," Hongying nodded.
"Sister Hongying, head to the girls' dorm. Liu Xiaoyan's entire dorm is infected. I think the host's there," Lin Qiye said.
"On our way," Hongying replied.
Girls' Dormitory.
Gu Tianchen strode in, Han sword in hand.
"Hey, you! What class are you from, barging into the girls' dorm in broad daylight? Have you no shame?"
The dorm matron stormed out, pointing at Gu Tianchen.
Whoosh!
A cold flash, and the matron's head hit the floor.
Her bloody head morphed into a fanged monster's, her body sprouting dense snake scales.
Gu Tianchen flicked the blood off his sword and walked inside.
A pretty girl hurried down the corridor, spotting Gu Tianchen's bloody sword and feigning fear.
"Gu Tianchen? What… what did you do?"
Gu Tianchen glanced up. He vaguely recalled her—Tian Li, the beauty from the next class.
"Heh, you saw it all, didn't you? You infected share vision. Stop pretending—trying to lure me in for a kill?" Gu Tianchen sneered.
Tian Li's eyes turned cold, glaring at him like a venomous snake.
Gu Tianchen's sword thrust at her. She dodged, but a slash severed her right arm.
"Ah!!"
Tian Li let out a monstrous screech, drawing more infected.
This guy was too much for her alone!
"Not loud enough. Keep going," Gu Tianchen said, staring at her like a creep.
The gravely injured Tian Li fled, but Gu Tianchen hurled his sword, pinning her to the corridor wall.
"Ah!!!"
Her screams grew shriller, attracting more infected girls.
"Come on, the more the better. I'm worried there won't be enough to kill," Gu Tianchen said, locking eyes with Tian Li and flipping her off.
The vision-sharing infected, provoked by his taunt, swarmed the dorm, blocking every exit.
Infected girls flooded the corridor, revealing fanged, split-head forms, attacking Gu Tianchen.
He yanked his sword from Tian Li's abdomen. Bleeding out, she collapsed, defenseless.
"Thanks for the help. For a year of being classmates, I'll grant you a physical exorcism."
Whoosh!
A flash, and Tian Li's head rolled.
In the corridor, eighteen infected surrounded Gu Tianchen.
He gripped his Han sword, holding it before him as blood dripped.
Drip! Drip!
The sound echoed clearly.
Gu Tianchen grinned savagely at the infected crowding the narrow corridor.
"You're all here, so stay."
He reached out, grabbing a pink pair of panties from a nearby clothesline…
The infected, about to charge, froze in shock.
Is this guy a pervert?!
Sensing the awkward vibe, Gu Tianchen glanced at the panties and tossed them aside.
"Ahem… my bad, grabbed the wrong thing."
He snatched a pink towel from the clothesline, wiped his sword clean, and stored it in the Pangu Temple.
"Roar!"
The infected screeched and charged.
Click! Click!
Gu Tianchen pulled two MP5 submachine guns from the Pangu Temple, one in each hand, their dark muzzles aimed at the infected.
Leng Xuan had given them to him for self-defense.
The infected weren't unintelligent. They knew the weapons in Gu Tianchen's hands could still bring equality to mythical creatures of their level.
But as the front infected tried to halt, those behind, unaware, surged forward, unwittingly sending their allies straight into Gu Tianchen's line of fire.
Da-da-da-da-da!
Gu Tianchen opened fire, mowing them down like reaping wheat with a scythe.
Under absolute firepower, the infected were riddled with holes.
True to his "cut the grass, kill the roots, lest spring winds revive them" philosophy, Gu Tianchen, fearing survivors, double-tapped each with his submachine guns, ensuring their demise.
Hoo!
Gu Tianchen lifted the smoking MP5s, blowing lightly on the barrels.
On a small balcony at the corridor's end, a serpent-tailed humanoid monster coiled, its cyan-black scales glinting coldly in faint sunlight.
Emerald eyes locked onto Gu Tianchen, a scarlet tongue flicking out, its lips curling in a mocking arc.
Gu Tianchen aimed at the cyan-black creature. "What're you staring at?"
"Hiss!"
The creature spat its crimson tongue, screeching as if retorting, "Staring at you, so what?"
Da-da-da-da-da!
Gu Tianchen pulled the trigger, bullets tearing toward the monster.
Whoosh!
It leaped off the balcony, vanishing.
Gu Tianchen didn't bother chasing, heading straight for the academic building.

Minutes later.
Hongying and Si Xiaonan stared at the pile of infected corpses in the girls' dormitory corridor, stunned.
"Sister Hongying, what's the situation? I'm heading over," Lin Qiye said.
"Uh… Little Brother Qiye, no need. The infected here are already cleared," Hongying replied.
"Impressive, Sister Hongying! That was fast!" Lin Qiye said, amazed.
"Well… it wasn't me. They were like this when I got here…" Hongying said.
Lin Qiye: (???)
"Was it that brute Gu Tianchen?"
Hongying eyed the sieve-like corpses. "This style… definitely him."
"Where is he?"
