"We're taking this ship and that log. With it we'll conquer the Grand Line!" Krieg announced as he and his barely alive group of pirates left stood ready to attack the Baratie.
"Nope!" Luffy said brightly.
"You think you can stop us you brat?! We're the Krieg pirates the strongest in the East Blue."
"Nope."
"Nothing will sto-"
"Nope!"
"There's no way-"
"Nope!"
"WILL YOU LET ME FINISH A DAMN SENTENCE!" Krieg screamed at Luffy with a badly twitching eyebrow.
"You just did!" Luffy cheerfully said and Krieg gave an inarticulate cry of rage at that while some of the Straw Hats were chuckling or laughing amused at their captains antics.
"Besides you aren't saying anything worth listening to. Conquer this, log that, strongest in east blue this. Honestly you idiots didn't even get into the Grand Line from what I heard. You were stuck in the Calm Belt." Luffy said snorting slightly and making the Krieg pirates glare at him or look confused.
"What's the Calm Belt?"
"I don't know but I have a black belt!"
"In fighting?"
"No from that one designer who's getting popular…what was their name again?
"Gucci?"
"That's the one!"
"God damnit Carl."
"Seriously. No winds blowing, giant sea kings, no waves or anything. Yeah sounds like the Calm Belt. If you went through Reverse Mountain you'd be in better condition probably, depending on the skill of your navigator." Luffy said shrugging his shoulders slightly.
"Our navigator is the best in the world!" Krieg boasted loudly and Luffy looked confused.
"No she's on my crew." Luffy said pointing at Nami who looked torn between horrified at being pointed out to the other pirates and embarrassed at Luffy calling her the best in the world.
"Your navigator is nothin-"
BAM!
A bullet hit the wooden ship right next to Krieg's head and he paled a little as he looked from the bullet hole that had barely missed his head and cut a small line onto his cheek to the pirate that no longer looked as jovial as he had a second ago.
"I don't give a damn if you insult me. But no one insults my Nakama. Say one more word about one of my crew and I won't miss." Luffy said growling darkly at Krieg now before he tilted his head to the side a bit and then smirked, putting away his gun and reaching for his sword.
"Looks like you annoyed someone you shouldn't have." Luffy said and as soon as the words were out of his mouth the Krieg ship, already wrecked as it was, was sliced clean in half.
"W-What!?" Krieg looked pale and in disbelief as everyone's heads whipped towards where the slash had come from only to see a ship floating towards them, if it could be called that. It looked more like a coffin with candles on the edges that burned with green fire. The ship is only big enough for one person to be seated but it looked like two or three others could stand on it, and Luffy knew from experience that there was nowhere to hide on it but it could hold a few people comfortably if they were small enough. At the center is a mast that resembles a large crucifix, with black sails and a throne like seat for the owner, which Luffy knew was actually very soft and plushy.
"Is that-" Robins eyes were wide as she stared at the approaching pirate on the boat who was still sitting in his chair.
"The Greatest Swordsman in the World. Dracule Mihawk." Zoro said and he was shivering in anticipation as he stared at the lone figure on the boat.
"Zoro. Remember our sword fight in Syrup town? You can't even cut steel yet, or do a flying slash. How do you think you'd fair against the man who just cut that ship in half with a flying slash from over a dozen meters away?" Luffy asked looking sternly at his swordsman whose head whipped around with his teeth bared.
"My dream is-" Zoro began but Luffy gave him a serious look that cut him off.
"Right now you aren't strong enough to beat Uncle Hawky, by dismemberment or death. You can't even beat me in a straight up sword fight and I'm not even a serious swordsman. If you can't beat me what makes you think you can beat him?" Luffy asked and Zoro scowled darkly at that.
"Of course you won't listen to words alone so how about this. After Uncle Hawky and I get done with our fight, if you still think you have a chance at beating him without knowing any of the advanced or even intermediate skills of a swordman, then you can fight him and I won't say another word about it." Luffy offered and Zoro grinned darkly at that. A chance to see and learn his main targets patterns and fighting style before challenging the man himself? He'd take that chance thank you.
"Deal." Zoro agreed with a nod while Mihawk got tired of listening to Krieg boast while his crew shot at and failed to hit Mihawk who was deflecting their bullets with the tip of his sword.
"Luffy." Mihawk said looking at the boy who beamed at him.
"Hi Uncle Hawky!" Luffy waved at the man who smirked a little and tossed something over to Luffy that had been in a small chest hidden behind the seat. The Krieg pirates and Baratie chefs were all gaping alongside most of his crew at what the boy had called Mihawk, who didn't protest the name.
"Sorry I couldn't find someone who could make it in time for it to be your going away present." Mihawk said tipping his head a bit in apology.
"It's okay! I got lots of stuff from my Mamas and Papas." Luffy said smiling brightly at Mihawk who smirked a bit.
"Yeah I bet you did. This was something that I needed to give you myself however and I'm running delivery for someone else too." Mihawk said smirking and motioned for Luffy to open it.
Inside was a vivre card with Mihawks name on it (which immediately joined Baa-chan's on his hat), a small necklace knife just like Mihawks own that he immediately put around his neck, and two boxes with the names Kaido and Yamato written on them.
"Oh cool! Uncle Kaido and Yamato sent something?" Luffy said looking surprised and Mihawk nodded.
"I've got no clue what's in there but they asked I deliver it in person since I'm one of the only ones who can leave the grand line and find you without the marines going haywire." Mihawk said and Luffy nodded in understanding while Robin seemed to be stunned at the fact that the gangly boy who chased away her darkness was the nephew of a Warlord with a much higher bounty than Crocodiles.
"Yamato sent me a vivre card and some of her fur!" Said fur was made into a lining that could go on his captains coat and the note with it said she had learned her fur was fire proof and figured that he could use some to keep his coat from getting burned.
"Uncle Kaido sent me a vivre card and some sake." Luffy said pulling a face at the sake while Zoro perked up as did Mihawk.
"That Kaido's special sake that knocks out anyone without an increased metabolism?" Mihawk asked and Luffy nodded before tossing him a bottle.
"Uncle Kaido sent me four of them, said it's something for when I need to be a serious captain and celebrate or meet with another captain. You can have one for you and Papa Shanks!" Luffy said and Mihawk grinned wildly at that. He was so going to get Shanks drunk off his ass with this.
"Thank you Luffy. Now then. Since I'm here and I'm bored…" Mihawk trailed off as Luffy took off his hat, gun, and ammo belt. Handing the gun and Ammo belt to Usopp and putting his hat on Zoro's head, Luffy drew his sword and grinned ferally at his uncle.
"Want to take this to the Krieg ship? The old man's nice and one of the chefs is gonna join my crew so I don't want to wreck their boat." Luffy asked and Mihawk grinned back as he drew Yoru. Both of them moved over to the Krieg's broken and cut up ship, ignoring the horrified and praying pirates, and stood standing from each other holding their swords in a ready stance.
At an unspoken signal of some kind, the two lunged at each other.
And those nearby were left horrified or stunned at the match in front of them.
The few who could keep up with how fast the two were moving at least.
