Narrator pov:
Around 4 p.m., a knock came at the door, followed by Jacob's voice.
_ "Diana? You awake?"
-"Yeah? You wanna come in?"
_ "No need. Come out when you're ready. I'll wait to take you."
-"O-okay… I'll be quick."
She jumped up.
Her heart was racing. She wasn't usually this nervous, but what she was about to do wasn't exactly normal either.
She untied the towel, letting it slide to the floor.
She put on a pair of men's boxers that reached her knees, a tank top, and a gray sweatshirt.
She looked at herself and laughed. She looked like a rapper.
She smoothed the boxers with her hand, and a bulge in the pocket caught her attention.
She reached in and pulled out two cold objects.
Cufflinks?
Who puts cufflinks in the pocket of sporty boxers? The thought of Matthew in boxers and a dress shirt made her smirk.
She glanced at them and tossed them back in the pocket.
If that guy wasn't normal, why would this one be?
She slipped on her All-Stars, gave the room a quick look, and stepped out.
She prayed this would be the last time she'd ever be in this room.
She saw Jacob sitting on one of the couches, sipping a drink.
With one hand, he was typing something on his phone.
He was dressed casually. His phone rang, and he answered it without hesitation.
