They teleport to a forgotten and broken down world. The teleport is completely different from Shift's normal way. It was more machine and tech oriented.
The world is post-apocalyptic , everything is destroyed or scavenged for parts. It feels lifeless.
"Woah, that felt grim!!" Shift says
"Never want to do that again"
Keno puts out a little laugh
"best get used to it for now"
Shift looks around in awe. This is his first time in another world. He takes it in, breathing deeply. He coughs from the heavy air.
"Wow I'm actually in another world! This is crazy!" Shift says as he pulls out his phone and takes a picture with Keno.
"The device we gave you before we left allows you to teleport to the required world you want and you might be able to do that with your powers but first you gotta know what to imagine to get there right?" Elias adds as they begin walking
Shift looks down at a watch like device on his arm with and on the screen it shows '#U.1673B'
"What does #U.1673B mean?"
"It's the dimension we are currently in universe-1673B meaning it's a branch from the main 1673 universe" Keno replies
Shift looks a little confused from the information overload
"Man where's Jamie when you need him"
Far far away , Jamie who is working on his suit suddenly sneezes!
"Anyways this device will scan the atmosphere for any abnormal readings and give us a location of the source which should be the portal however , The Displacer normally leaves some sort of guards so be on the look out for that" Elias says and as he finishes the device beeps
"It's found the source! It's this way let's go" Keno says as his device also detected it.
They get to the area where the device picked up the readings and that's when you see it…in the sky there is a tear somewhat noticeable.
"It's still very weak so it looks like that , a fully open strong one looks even more terrifying" Keno adds as if he has seen the so-called terrifying one first hand.
As soon as they step one foot on the floor in front of them. Hands! Hundreds of hands begin to erupt from the bottom of the floor..and suddenly there's hundreds of shadow-like creatures with one big red eye like a cyclops.
"Shift those are Rift Dwellers they're made of his power , I wasn't expecting him to have these little ones guarded too" Elias says
"Good! I was starting to get bored!." Keno adds
"Shift , you teleport up to the tear and see what you can do about closing it! The quicker the better as it's the dwellers power source" Elias explains
"Got it!" Shift says as he opens a portal and jumps through it
"Keno! Are you ready?" Elias asks
Do you have to ask!?"
Keno replies as they both get into action pose ready for combat!
Keno generates energy and constructs it into two blades at the same time Elias uses the air and generates wind constructs of multiple swords around him.
Shift jumps out of a portal and creates a foothold made of his power. He stands in front of the rift
'I wonder if the others will be okay' he thinks to himself as he looks down and sees a huge flaming tornado
"I think they'll be fine" he says to himself
Shift can feel the strong power oozing off as he gets closer to the rift.
"Hmm it does feel somewhat similar to my portals"
he says as he hovers his hand over it without touching it.
"I think I know how to close it" he says as he touches the rift and imagines him restoring the rip closing the rift but just before it closes a voice penetrates through…
"Found you little pup! I got your 'scent' now"
Not long after it closes and the Rift dwellers down below lose their power and crumble into dust, shortly after Shift teleports to the others.
"You managed to close it! Good job"
Elias expresses while patting Shift on the back and Keno puts a thumbs up
"There was a weird thing though , as I was closing the rift a voice came through saying 'Found you little pup! I got your 'scent' now…"
The others looked shocked, scared and a little angry all at the same time.
"We need to go back to base right now!" Elias says sternly.
