Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Wine Bottle Is Too Fragile

Lin Xia saw Qin Feng silent for a while, thinking he was refusing, hurriedly changed her offer, "Brother Qin, fifty-fifty doesn't work, how about sixty-forty? I take forty, you take sixty, how does that sound?"

Qin Feng grinned, "Talk these things over with Lin Nan. If she agrees, you can take it all, no problem."

"All of it?"

Lin Xia's eyes went wide in disbelief, "Are you really not interested in money at all?"

Qin Feng smiled faintly, "Money is just something external. I'm only wandering through the mortal world for a bit—soon I'll return to the mountains. Why would I need it?"

Lin Xia had just been a little puzzled about the elixir stuff, only accepting it because she trusted her sister.

But now, hearing Qin Feng say this, she really felt he was a high-level master outside worldly affairs—otherwise, who could resist the temptation of money!

She giggled, stuck out her pinky, "You gotta keep your word—dare to pinky swear with me?"

Qin Feng shook his head with a smile, helplessly reaching out his pinky to hook Lin Xia's.

Lin Xia's small hand was smooth, a bit chubbier than Lin Nan's, feeling even more springy.

"Pinky promise, hang ourselves, for a hundred years, no changes allowed!"

She beamed, two cute dimples appearing on her cheeks. Finally, she thumb-bumped Qin Feng's thumb, making the whole thing weirdly ceremonial.

Just then, the waiter brought the dishes and drinks.

Lin Xia had even ordered a bottle of red wine, poured a full glass for Lin Feng, then downed three herself, celebrating a successful partnership.

Qin Feng imitated Lin Xia, picked up knife and fork to eat the steak, frowning, "Tastes pretty good, but the meat isn't too fresh!"

Lin Xia laughed, curious, "Brother Qin, what do you usually eat up in the mountains?"

Qin Feng shook his head, "Cultivators can fast, don't need to eat. Just take a Qi Replenishing Pill daily, that's enough."

"Qi Replenishing Pill?"

Lin Xia got more and more curious about Qin Feng—though she didn't really get what Lin Feng was saying, it sounded awesome.

Qin Feng smiled, moved his right hand as if from thin air, and suddenly there was a black elixir in his palm.

He handed it to Lin Xia, "This is a Qi Replenishing Pill, made from ginseng, astragalus, and licorice. If you take it, you won't need to eat anything for a month!"

Lin Xia stared at Qin Feng's 'magic trick', mouth frozen open in shock.

She took the pill, about the size of candy, sniffed it—a refreshing aroma wafted up, making her feel instantly invigorated.

"Brother Qin, where did you just get that elixir from? That's too magical!"

Lin Xia couldn't help but feel a little worshipful inside.

"The elixirs are kept in this ring."

Qin Feng smiled and spread his right hand. Wearing a jade ring on his middle finger, nothing obviously special about it.

He explained, "Our Daoist Family calls this type of ring a Storage Ring—it can store some stuff inside!"

"How's that possible?"

Lin Xia grabbed Qin Feng's right hand, fiddled with the ring, completely unconvinced.

Qin Feng didn't say much more, right hand waved toward the bags and packages on the table.

The miracle happened—a dozen packaged bags right under Lin Xia's nose suddenly vanished without a trace.

Lin Xia's little body shivered involuntarily, staring at Qin Feng and exclaimed sweetly, "Oppa, be honest, are you from an extraterrestrial planet?"

Qin Feng laughed, "This is just a little Daoist technique, easy to learn. If you wanna learn, I can teach you!"

Lin Xia nodded repeatedly, worshiping him with her eyes, "I want to! If I can learn it, I'll be able to buy a whole car full of stuff when I go shopping!"

Qin Feng forced a bitter smile—if his master heard this, he'd absolutely die of rage.

The dignified Profound Sect Daoist Technique, in Lin Xia's eyes, was just for storing shopping bags.

They ate and chatted, and before long, five or six well-dressed young people walked in from outside.

As they passed by Lin Xia and Qin Feng, one of them fixated on Lin Xia and shouted, "Yo, isn't this Lin University Beauty? What, did the sun rise in the west today? You never go out with guys!"

Lin Xia looked at him with total disgust, "Li Tian'er, are you done? Who I go out with is none of your damn business!"

Li Tian'er's face changed immediately, pointing at Lin Xia and cursing, "Little whore, you don't know how to appreciate kindness. I chat you up, that's me showing you respect. Apologize to me right now, don't make me go all tough on you!"

He was Lin Xia's classmate, his family ran a big antique shop in West Capital City. At school, he always called himself second-in-command under heaven, acted really cocky.

Any girl he fancied, he'd spend any amount to get her. Only Lin Xia wouldn't budge—neither sweet nor tough talk works, so he got shut down a lot.

Lin Xia's face flushed with anger, snapped, "Li Tian'er, don't think you can do whatever just because your family's rich. Others may fear you, but I, Lin Xia, don't!"

"Second Bro, are you up to it or not?"

"Come on, Second Bro, you can't handle even one woman!"

"Second Bro, maybe let your bros help out—I'm a pro at picking up girls!"

"..."

Li Tian'er's group hollered in support, while some circled behind Qin Feng, wary in case he made a move.

Qin Feng, from start to finish, just sipped red wine with a calm face, never once butted in.

Li Tian'er and his crew thought he was a pushover, didn't pay him any mind.

After Lin Xia finished cursing Li Tian'er, she pulled Qin Feng, ready to leave.

Four young men behind Qin Feng instantly held him in place, one acting super arrogant, "Bro, you can go, but the girl stays."

Li Tian'er did have some misgivings about the Lin Clan, and really didn't dare get physical with Lin Xia.

Seeing Qin Feng silent all along, he treated him like a punching bag, snatched a wine bottle from the table, pointed it at Qin Feng's nose, and threatened, "Little punk, listen up. Lin Xia says she's my girlfriend—if you know what's good for you, get lost, or you'll be carried out on a stretcher today!"

Qin Feng smiled lazily, "So this is how street thugs behave nowadays—each generation worse than the last. Why all the trash talk? Holding a bottle—why not smash it already!"

Li Tian'er and his four buddies stared, thinking he must be nuts.

His pride wouldn't let him back down; if he didn't smash now, he'd look weak.

As soon as Qin Feng finished speaking, Li Tian'er didn't hesitate, swung his arm wide, and smashed the bottle at Qin Feng's head.

"Fuck you, acting tough in front of me—I'm gonna smash you to death!"

Li Tian'er cursed as he swung—CRACK!—the wine bottle shattered into pieces instantly.

Lin Xia had thought Li Tian'er was just bluffing, but he really did smash it down.

She pushed Li Tian'er away, quickly felt Qin Feng's head, panicking, "Brother Qin, are you okay? We need to get to the hospital!"

"I'm fine, don't worry!"

Qin Feng gave her a relaxed smile, then turned to Li Tian'er with a calm look, "That bottle was too brittle, go grab a tougher one."

Li Tian'er's face turned green with terror—after all, he was just a student, never seen someone so fearless.

But for pride's sake, he yelled at his four buddies, "Guys, all together, beat the hell outta this idiot!"
