Chapter 1 - Prologue

The pencil moved across the paper gliding like magic as it slowly formed a sketch of an anime girl holding an oversized exaggerated rifle. The man smiled then set the pencil down and turned to his PC where a strategy game was running.

A few hours later during a multiplayer match.

"Starenjoyer, dude, where are your tanks? Why are you putting them there and leaving them in the dust and AFK?" an annoyed voice from his team shouted.

He went by Starenjoyerkun69 which is a name inspired by a certain Vtuber he was obsessed with.

He replied in a calm voice, "Just wait and see."

The annoyed voice got angrier. "You left them in the treeline!!! Don't you know tanks are useless there??"

Starenjoyerkun69 said nothing.

"I swear I'm reporting you after this game. Just once, I want a normal…" The voice kept ranting.

He didn't mute him. He knew what was coming.

With no tanks on his flank, the enemy grew bolder, overextended and committed too hard. They exposed their backline where there are artillery and logistics. That's when the tanks rolled out from the treeline and swept them cleanly. The momentum shifted. His team won.

The ranting voice went dead silent.

After the match, a message popped up from one of the enemy players.

Shadowfox42: GG

Starenjoyerkun69: gg

Shadowfox42: How did you know we would overextend?

Starenjoyerkun69: Pretty simple actually. When you feel safe and think you've already won... that's exactly when you lose.

Shadowfox42: holy. Thanks for the wisdom dude.

A new window appeared.

Shadowfox42 has sent you a friend request.

The man thought nothing of it and clicked Accept.
