Looking at Miko's completely defeated expression, Suyang couldn't help but chuckle.
This little girl was finally scared out of her wits.
It was kind of amusing.
Of course, it wasn't like Suyang had meant to frighten her on purpose. It was just that Miko's eyes were far too special, they could see things that most people couldn't.
She was bound to find out sooner or later. Better she learned now than later.
After sending her home with a car, it was already afternoon.
Suyang hadn't gone out again. Originally, he had planned to visit Ai. Now that his abilities had advanced, he wanted to update the ocular jutsu sealed within her transcription seal.
But in the end, he never got the chance to leave.
Because a luxury car had just pulled up in front of his villa.
And then, a stunningly beautiful girl with a frosty expression stepped inside.
"Suyang, what exactly is going on between you and my sister? I want a clear explanation!"
That was the first thing the icy beauty said upon seeing him.
Her name, Yukinoshita Yukino.
Yukino never expected that, early this morning, she would receive a message from her sister.
It was brief and to the point.
Yukino, I'm sorry.
It came out of nowhere, leaving Yukino frowning slightly as she tried to remember what sort of trouble her problematic sister had stirred up this time.
But soon enough, her mother gave her a call.
After a brief conversation, Yukino finally understood what her sister's apology was all about.
The engagement between her and Su Yang had been canceled.
However, the engagement between the Yukinoshita family and Su Yang remained intact, only the bride had been switched.
She had been replaced.
Replaced by her older sister, Yukinoshita Haruno.
???
Yukino had been utterly dumbfounded at the time.
Even though she didn't have romantic feelings for Su Yang, the engagement had been arranged by her family, and she hadn't been able to resist it.
Over time, she had gradually accepted it, partly because Su Yang had promised her a few things.
But just as she was starting to come to terms with the idea, even beginning to feel like a proper fiancée…
Now they were telling her she'd been replaced?
Yukino was furious.
She voiced her dissatisfaction directly to her mother. She wasn't some object to be traded around at will.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Yukinoshita didn't care in the slightest. With a single sentence, "This is for the good of the family", she crushed Yukino's budding resistance before it could take root.
"…So, that's why you're taking it out on me?"
Su Yang looked helpless as he listened to Yukino's complaints, which were more grievances than actual anger.
How was I supposed to know they switched you out?
Oh… wait. Now I get it.
Su Yang began to piece it together. The Yukino standing in front of him didn't seem to be involved in the world of supernatural affairs. That role had clearly been taken over by Haruno.
So the Yukinoshita family had probably already decided that Haruno would be the future head of the household.
And now, after Su Yang's recent performance, they had finally made their choice.
He was certain the incident from that morning, when he stormed the Panxing Sect, had already spread.
But what he didn't know was that it hadn't just spread, it had gone completely viral.
Suguru Geto, a special grade curse user possessing multiple special grade cursed spirits and thousands of regular ones, had actually been driven out of his own stronghold?
And witnesses even said that Geto had fled in a panic.
The entire jujutsu world was in an uproar.
Geto had been exiled from the jujutsu sorcerers and labeled a curse user. Did the higher ups really not want him dead?
Did they lack the means to find him?
Did they lack the strength to kill him?
Of course not.
The only reason they hadn't acted was because of Geto's cursed technique, Cursed Spirit Manipulation.
If pushed too far, Geto could unleash every cursed spirit he had gathered in one massive, cataclysmic attack. It would spell disaster for humanity.
After all, the jujutsu world wasn't the only domain of supernatural power, there were many factions beyond it, and quite a few far stronger.
If the jujutsu world caused turmoil it couldn't contain, then it didn't deserve to exist.
The higher ups weren't afraid of Geto, they were afraid of the consequences that would follow.
Geto knew this as well, which was why he had been developing the Panxing Sect quietly and keeping a low profile.
But now, by offending Su Yang accidentally or not, he'd triggered something that sent shockwaves through the entire jujutsu community.
That was also why Mrs. Yukinoshita had acted so decisively.
Yukino, of course, was unaware of all this. Su Yang didn't know the exact details either, but with a little thought, he had a rough idea.
Still… How was he supposed to explain any of that?
"Hmph. I remember what you promised me. I agreed to marry you in exchange for a platform,an opportunity to use my talents."
Yukino let out a cold laugh. "And this is how you repay me? By getting involved with my sister?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. 'Getting involved'? That sounds way worse than it is, don't you think?"
Su Yang looked exasperated. As expected from the Poison Tongue clan.
Back then, he had wanted to expand his influence, so he'd sought support from the Yukinoshita family.
In return, he'd privately promised Yukino a platform, an opportunity to prove herself.
Put simply, he'd agreed to let her manage part of the corporation.
It hadn't been a big deal to him, so he'd agreed without much thought.
But now… well, things had definitely gone sideways.
They'd switched her out.
"Uh… did I walk in at the wrong time?"
An awkward voice came from the window. It was Gojo Satoru.
Su Yang had noticed him long ago but couldn't be bothered.
Seriously, out of all the ways to enter, why the window?
"Gojo Satoru? No,Head of the Gojo Clan, sir!"
The moment Yukino saw him, she let out a surprised cry.
Realizing her slipup, she immediately stood and greeted him with proper etiquette, mindful of his status.
"Huh? Yukino, you know this guy?"
Su Yang was surprised.
This… guy?
Yukino gave him a look and tugged at his sleeve, whispering,
"Don't refer to him like that. He's the head of the Gojo Clan. Whether in politics or business, their influence is immense. The Yukinoshita family may be powerful, but we're nowhere near their level."
Hearing this, Su Yang turned to Gojo with a strange expression that made Gojo visibly uncomfortable.
"Why are you looking at me like that? It's creepy."
"You're really the head of the Gojo Clan?"
"Of course I am, One hundred percent authentic! "
Gojo struck a proud pose.
But Su Yang's next sentence wiped the smile right off his face.
"What a shame. After all those generations, the Gojo Clan is finally going to die out in yours."
