"That little guy went to the Naruto world again?" Noah rubbed his chin thoughtfully. Was Froggy's interest in that place really just about the local specialties? It almost felt like he had some kind of plan brewing over there. Noah was starting to believe he'd touched on the truth.
Aside from a few souvenirs, Froggy had even brought back a photo. It was clearly taken in the Naruto world—Froggy sat smugly atop the head of a green tracksuit-wearing man. That man's smile sparkled in a creepy way, enough to make your skin crawl. Might Guy. The power of youth.
"Why does it feel like Froggy enjoys going to all the weird places?" Noah glanced toward the door, watching Froggy hop out energetically as if it were heading out for another trip. The way this little thing kept going made Noah feel a little guilty.
Sitting down again, Noah began reviewing the [Eight Gates Technique]. His physical attributes had long surpassed the threshold required to handle it. Several minutes passed in silence, and then suddenly, a crisp mechanical voice echoed in his mind.
[Ding! Froggy's little friend has come for a visit. Please greet your guest promptly!]
Noah's expression turned strange. He never expected Froggy to actually have visitors. It had been so long since anyone showed up—he had nearly forgotten that the system even had this function.
"Well, let's see who it is." Noah's consciousness plunged into the Froggy's cabin, and his form materialized inside the quaint little house. The interior was divided into two levels—the upper floor was Froggy's sleeping quarters, complete with a cluttered world map.
Although, truth be told, there were far too many labeled worlds.
The decor inside was simple and neat. Outside the window, a patch of clovers remained unharvested, waving slightly in the breeze.
"Froggy's been to quite a few worlds already," Noah mused, glancing around the room. "Wonder who's here this time?"
He started listing them off mentally—Naruto, Demon Slayer, One Punch Man, even Detective Conan. Froggy had been to all of them, and made plenty of friends along the way. Whether it was Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, Kamado Tanjiro, or even Garou from One Punch Man, they were all part of Froggy's odd little social circle.
No one had visited in ages. Now someone suddenly dropping by made Noah feel like a nervous parent. He was still dressed in his [Marine uniform], so he casually pulled off his eyepatch and tidied his fluffy hair a bit. First impressions mattered, after all.
Even if the guest didn't care, he had to give Froggy some dignity. This wasn't Noah's actual body, though. It was his spirit form, an illusion projected by the system, capable of interacting physically but not meant for combat.
"Not bad," he muttered, glancing at himself in the mirror. "The [Marine outfit] doesn't drag down the vibe at all."
There was a unique charm to the uniform. Standing tall in it, Noah gave off an intimidating presence—perfect for a first meeting. He didn't know how Froggy presented himself outside, but as the parent figure, he had to at least look respectable.
He walked to the door and gently opened it.
A young girl around fifteen or sixteen stood outside, looking visibly uneasy. The moment her eyes landed on Noah, she instinctively took a step back. Strangers made her nervous—she didn't even have the courage to speak.
Her eyes were pale and full of hesitance. She wore a long-sleeved outfit with bandages on her legs, a forehead protector around her neck, and a face that couldn't hide her anxiety. Noah instantly recognized her name.
Hinata.
She bit her lip slightly, her gaze shifting between fear and resolve. "H-hello."
Her voice was soft, her demeanor introverted. When their eyes met, she instantly looked down to avoid eye contact. She couldn't even muster the courage to look at Noah directly.
"Is this Froggy's home?" she asked hesitantly.
Apparently Froggy had told her about his "father."
"Yeah, welcome," Noah nodded calmly. But in his heart, he was wondering—how did Hinata know Froggy's name? Could it be that people from the Naruto world understood these weird languages naturally?
Standing there, Noah couldn't help but notice—Hinata was even more beautiful than she appeared in the anime. Just more reserved, as if she'd barely spoken a word to anyone in her life. And yet her features were striking. Even with baggy clothes obscuring her figure, Noah could tell she had an incredible physique.
"Come in, don't be shy."
"Sorry for intruding." Hinata stepped forward, though her steps were hesitant. She had expected Froggy to answer the door, not some unfamiliar man. Still, she figured this must be Froggy's father.
But... something didn't add up.
She'd assumed Froggy's father would be a frog too. Why was he human? Froggy had never explained that part clearly.
"I'm Hyuga Hinata. I came to visit Froggy," she said earnestly. "And also to thank him."
"You're Froggy's father, right?"
She took a seat across from Noah. Honestly, this was the first time she'd ever been alone in a room with a strange man. It was awkward.
"Just call me Noah," he replied, a little confused. "You're here to thank Froggy?"
As he spoke, he instinctively started flipping through the system's photo records of Froggy's time in the Naruto world, but nothing seemed to match up with what she was referring to.
"When I was little... Froggy showed up and saved me." Hinata's voice was quiet but sincere. "I've wanted to thank him ever since, but I couldn't find him afterward."
She looked down, her thoughts drifting back.
It had happened years ago. At the time, the Hidden Cloud Village had taken a particular interest in the Byakugan of the Hyuga clan and attempted to kidnap her. At the darkest moment, just when all hope seemed lost, Froggy had appeared out of nowhere and rescued her.
Thanks to him, Hinata had been spared from being taken away by the Hidden Cloud.
