Far Side of the Moon, in the region eternally hidden from Earth's view. As Earth's satellite, the Moon had shielded the planet from countless meteor strikes throughout history. As a result, its far side had become a true dead zone.
Years of impact had left the landscape pockmarked with craters, desolate and bleak. No ordinary person would imagine that amid this wasteland stood a city named Atalan—a city of people who might no longer consider themselves human.
Today, the residents of Atalan experienced intense panic, for high above their sky, a dozen massive hawk-shaped ships had suddenly appeared.
Fortunately, the ships did not attack. Whether it was because they couldn't detect the city's cloaking, or because it wasn't their target, they merely circled the moon and headed toward Earth.
"Huh… Kree ships?" Watching the vessels depart, Black Bolt breathed a silent sigh of relief. He had feared they had come for them. But as he watched them fly off, his brow furrowed.
"Why are Kree ships here? What happened on Earth?"
"Your Majesty, should I go investigate?" Gorgon had clearly sensed Black Bolt's worry. Though he knew going to Earth might be dangerous, he still volunteered to scout.
Black Bolt hesitated. He didn't want to endanger his people, but the appearance of Kree ships could put the Inhumans at serious risk.
After a moment, Black Bolt nodded. Beside him, Queen Medusa turned to Gorgon and said, "Gorgon, you'll find Titanus and have him send you to Earth. Once you're there, stay cautious and avoid exposure—whether it's humans or Kree you meet, be extremely careful."
"I understand."
Meanwhile, the appearance of those hawk-like ships was simultaneously detected by nations around the world—including S.H.I.E.L.D. aboard the Helicarrier.
"Everyone… I think we've got a serious problem," said Nick Fury, who quickly instructed Maria Hill to display all known data on the mysterious vessels.
"What the hell are those?" Coulson asked, staring at the images of the ships—each one seemingly ten times larger than their own Helicarrier.
Clark, however, didn't look surprised. He vaguely recalled these ships appearing near the end of the Captain Marvel movie. Back then, they were also after the Tesseract, but after Captain Marvel destroyed several of them, the rest retreated in fear.
Still… Clark didn't remember this many ships showing up in The Avengers (2012). If the aliens could reach Earth so easily, why would Loki go through the hassle of opening a portal for the Chitauri?
Wouldn't it be easier to just fly in with a fleet? Clark honestly couldn't understand what these villains were thinking.
"These are newly arrived ships, just past the Moon's edge… and things don't look good. We may be heading into a full-on alien invasion," Fury stated grimly.
Fury noted that this wasn't the first time he had seen ships like these. Twenty-five years ago, similar vessels had appeared—but back then, a single person had scared them off, sparing Earth from destruction.
Looking at the hawk-shaped ships, Fury couldn't help but remember the woman who had inspired him to create the Avengers Initiative in the first place.
But this time… she's not here. Could Earth withstand the might of an interstellar civilization?
Fury's gaze shifted to Clark. He didn't know how Clark felt about Carol Danvers, but he knew this—Clark wasn't human. That made Fury nervous. Would Clark fight to protect Earth… or stay neutral?
Just then, Agent Sitwell's screen flashed with an alert:
"Target match over 79% similarity—location: Stuttgart, Germany."
Everyone turned to Sitwell.
"Address: 28 Konigstrasse. He's not trying to hide."
"Are those ships connected to Loki?" Coulson asked, noting how Loki and the ships had appeared at nearly the same time. Considering Loki's previous declaration of wanting to rule Earth, Coulson suspected a link.
"We need to capture Loki," Fury said decisively. "Once we have him, we can determine his connection to those ships. One way or another, their target is the Tesseract, and we must regain control of it before the ships arrive."
"Captain, you go apprehend Loki. I'll handle the ships," Clark said calmly.
Everyone stared at him in shock—but Clark felt… strangely pleased.
"So this is what it feels like to show off…" Clark mused. Of course, to show off like this, one needed the strength to back it up. Without it, you'd just be a clown.
Luckily, Clark could back it up. He didn't even realize he might be stronger than Captain Marvel. And now, he had a planet-destroying feat under his belt.
"Clark, you…" Diana began, but trailed off. She knew if anyone could stop those ships, it was Clark—and he certainly had the power.
Yet she couldn't help but remember the Kryptonian invasion by General Zod. That time, Clark had stopped a single ship. But now… there were dozens.
She was worried.
"Diana, go with the Captain. I feel better with you there," Clark said, entirely unaware of her concern.
"With us?" Steve Rogers was baffled. He thought he'd misheard. As far as he knew, Diana was just Clark's relative—not part of the mission.
Steve had always found it a bit ridiculous that Clark brought a beautiful woman along on world-saving missions. He figured Clark just wanted to show off in front of her.
But now Clark was sending her with them? This wasn't a vacation!
"Rogers, don't underestimate Diana. She's Wonder Woman," Natasha said flatly.
"Wonder Woman?" The WWII-era Captain blinked. I've never heard of her… he thought.
"Don't worry—I won't slow you down," Diana said, removing her outer clothes to reveal her gleaming Amazonian armor underneath.
Clark, meanwhile, thought Diana was amazing—for the way her hairstyle changed the moment she took off her clothes.
