Chapter 304: A Bet on One Person
A forest of gold, everywhere you looked, was filled with gold.
Gold is incredibly strong and its colors are captivating.
Just looking at it captivates people incredibly.
Even though the sky was pitch-black and full of stars, the light shining through the gold was bright, capturing their attention.
Look at this. The pitch-black darkness swallowed the gold, making it look like any ordinary rock.
Everything turned to gold.
A boy stood on the golden ground.
He held a red crystal ball tightly in his hand.
The seraph, holding the crystal ball, stared down at the gold.
The seraph threw the Spirit Crystal, crashing into the gold on the ground. Boom!
The crystal ball slammed into the gold, piercing through with lightning speed. Boom!
The Spirit Crystal shot through the ground, booming, and stopped immediately.
A hole was created, large enough for a single Spirit Orb to penetrate.
The Spirit Orb could penetrate gold, all the way to the ground.
Seraph looked down into the hole, filled with darkness, unable to see what lay beneath.
There was only thick darkness, even with his Spirit-enhanced eyes,
he couldn't see beneath the ground.
Fiona sat staring at Seraph, her legs crossed, her left hand on her hip, meditating.
Her gaze fixed on Seraph, showing no sign of moving to help.
"Hmm. Be careful, junior. If your dangerous Spirit Orb penetrates my shelter,
I guarantee the boundary conditions I set
will trigger the bombing of the shelter. Be careful.
So, senior, be careful. I'll watch you until you can proceed to the next step.
I'll take command. You two follow."
Fiona assumed command.
Gravin looked at Seraph. The potion in Seraph's hand caught Gravin's attention.
A clear yellow color, with a beautiful bottle adorned with clear glass.
"This is it, the potion that turns the ground into mud?" Gravin watched Seraph, who held the bottle, warily, as he began pouring the potion into the hole.
Seraph nodded, indicating yes.
The three of them anticipated the outcome
of Rindel's Potion. Would this save them or worsen the crisis?
Seraph held the bottle over a deep hole. The yellow water trembled as the bottle tilted.
Fiona began to give the command, "Administer the potion. Begin operation. The potion of the demon who eats mud. Begin."
As soon as Fiona gave the command,
Seraph poured the yellow potion into the hole.
The sound of water flowing down into the endless darkness.
The yellow water floated down, taking a long time to reach the ground.
And the water crashed into the Soul Orb with a loud crash!
The yellow liquid, upon contact with the ground, engulfed the surrounding soil.
And in an instant, it turned to mud. Boom!
The sound of the soil being gradually turned to mud. The ground beneath the ground began to turn to mud.
The mud filled the golden basement.
The Spirit Orb floated above the mud.
Above, Seraph looked down at the ground. [Having previously activated this potion, it probably wouldn't take long for the ground to turn to mud.]
Seraph had seen the yellow potion in action and waited for a while.
"It's probably time," Seraph said, "too much mud down there."
Assuming it was,
Seraph's mission was completed by two actions.
Then, Fiona spoke. "Operation Mud-Eating Demon Complete."
Fiona turned to Gravin, who was standing looking at the hole Seraph had left.
"Operation: Evict the former resident by roasting him alive. Begin." Fiona gave the order.
Gravin inserted his sword into the hole. Smack!
The sound of a sword piercing through the gold. Graravin's sword was incredibly sharp.
It could easily pierce through the gold on the ground.
Fiona stared at Graravin's sword. "What? Isn't this a good sword? I thought it was just an ordinary sword. It looks ordinary. Don't underestimate it!"
Seraph looked at Graravin's extremely sharp sword.
It had a simple design, as if it had been picked up from the side of the road.
The hilt was pitch-black, and the blade itself was transparent.
[This definitely isn't an ordinary sword. Shouldn't its sharpness be excellent?] Seraph thought for a moment, and he commented that it had the potential to be a deadly sword.
Gravin used his third Spirit Skill.
Red fire energy illuminated the sword, and the heat increased, burning the blade on the ground. Whoosh!
A red flame burned in the mysterious darkness.
A man was seen holding a sword. With a simple, ordinary outfit.
The face was twenty-five years old, almost a teenager.
The red light illuminated Gravin's face clearly.
Although his face wasn't particularly striking, he was considered average-looking.
Gravin stared at the scorching sword and squeezed his right hand, which was holding the sword tightly.
To release the fire power, he released it. Boom! Boom!
The gold on the ground cracked little by little, spreading. Boom!
BOOM! The red light burned fiercely. Gravin's hand trembled from the use of his spiritual energy. The flames engulfed the gold.
And a fiery red laser beam shot into the hole in the ground. Boom!
A beam of light shot through, creating a wider area. Boom!
The light struck the mud. Boom!
The mud heated up, and at the center of the laser, a Spirit Orb floated in the mud. Boom!
The sound of flames burning the mud little by little.
The hole created by the Spirit Orb began to widen, just big enough for a child to fit inside.
Fiona watched Gravin's sword burn away the gold around it. Boom!
"No, no, no, no, no, no," Fiona repeated.
She listened to the flames penetrating the surface of the disc, bit by bit.
Fiona used her ears to time the moment Gravin's light beam destroyed the mud, and when it should stop.
Fiona listened to the sound of the depths. The sound pierced the ground.
"Stop," Fiona ordered Gravin to stop using her power.
Gravin stopped channeling his Spirit Energy. Down into the ground.
The golden floor had a wide hole, just right for a small child to enter.
The gold was burning, generating heat.
Fiona looked at the hole and said, "Now, the Dark World Exploration Operation begins, junior. I believe in you.
You can jump down. Use this to touch my secret room."
Fiona pulled something out of her shirt and placed it on the ground.
It looked like a pair of scissors, dark yellow, as small as a car key.
Seraph pointed at himself. "Me?" Seraph was slightly confused.
Fiona nodded. "That's right. I'm beautiful. How could I get covered in mud?"
Seraph asked again, just to be sure. "Didn't you go down there, senior?"
Fiona shook her head. "No, no, no. Look at the hole. It's so small. If I go down there, I'm sure I'll die.
"The size of the junior is just right. Think of it like jumping in and opening the door. That's enough," Fiona blinked at Seraph with her left eye.
He gave Seraph a thumbs-up, indicating that there was no problem. I believed in my beloved junior.
Seraph, thinking again, gazed at the hole slightly larger than himself.
If anyone else went down, there would be a problem and they would have to stay outside.
Only Seraph could go down.
Seraph nodded. "Just touching this is enough, right, senior?"
"Yes, junior. Our lives depend on you."
I'll bet on you," Fiona tossed the yellow scissors, the key to finding shelter for the three of them.
Seraph took the key, looking exhausted, but he had to do it because if he didn't, everyone would die.
Demons tend to appear mostly at night.
Seraph looked at the key. and looked at the hole just the right size for himself.
"I hope you made the right bet."
Gravin bowed to Seraph. "Please take care of us. Our lives."
