Chapter 113: Warning

"Whoosh!"

Nagato's eyes snapped open from his meditation chair.

"They're gone," he muttered.

Konan looked up, instantly alert. "What?"

"The Six Paths of Pain. Vanished. All at once."

She stared. "That's not possible."

Nagato's face had gone pale. "It happened. They were taken."

He didn't understand it yet. The Pain bodies weren't weak. Even Hanzo the Salamander had fallen before them. No one should be able to neutralize all six at once without making a sound.

Then his voice dropped. "The Daimyo of Land of Fire. He's here."

Konan tensed. Of all the people they expected, they never expected someone like him.

George stood at the edge of the Akatsuki base, quietly brushing water from his shoulder. The chakra-filled rain confirmed it; he was being watched. He smiled, then disappeared in a flicker.

When he reappeared, he was already inside.

"Hello, Nagato. Konan. No need to panic."

They stared at him.

George looked relaxed, like he'd just walked in for coffee. He glanced around the sparse room and nodded to himself.

"I figured this was your base. Quiet, remote. Not bad."

Nagato didn't move, but his expression hardened. The weight in the room shifted.

"You're bold," he said flatly.

"I came to talk," George replied. "You already tried testing me outside. I'd prefer not to break the ceiling indoors."

"Why do you know so much about Pain?"

George didn't answer right away. Instead, he raised a hand.

"I'll give these back. Relax."

Golden sparks swirled in the air. A ripple formed between them. One by one, the Pain bodies returned to the room, unharmed.

Nagato exhaled quietly as he sensed their chakra reconnect.

George pulled a seat out of nowhere and sat down.

"That's better. Now we can have a proper conversation."

Nagato didn't reply. He was thinking. The man in front of him knew about the black receivers, the chakra signals, and the mental coordination.

That meant he'd studied the system. Probably even seen it in action.

Konan stayed close but didn't speak. She didn't like this visitor, but she wasn't about to escalate things.

"You know, Nagato," George said, "in terms of raw power, you might edge me out. Rinnegan's no joke. But I didn't come here to measure inches. I came to warn you."

Nagato narrowed his eyes.

"Daimyo or not," he said, "you're one of the great nations. You feed wars. You sponsor the bloodshed that's destroyed this world."

George leaned back slightly.

"You think the small countries are clean?" he asked. "That only the Five Great Nations have blood on their hands?"

Nagato didn't answer.

George continued, voice even.

"Every time someone grabs power, someone else suffers. It's not about nations. It's about people. And Pain isn't a philosophy that fixes that. It just replaces one tyrant with another."

Nagato's gaze sharpened. "You have no idea what this country's been through."

"I do. I know about Yahiko. About Hanzo. I know what the wars did to this place. I know how many children died with their names forgotten."

That landed.

George's tone didn't change. "I'm not here to argue. I came because I know where your path leads. And I'm telling you, right now, keep Akatsuki out of the Land of Fire. Do what you want elsewhere, but stay away from us."

Nagato's voice rose. "You act like you understand, but you don't! You weren't here when they bombed our streets. You weren't here when your Jonin squads treated our people like animals!"

"You're right," George said. "I wasn't. But that doesn't make you right, either."

He paused.

"And I hate to break it to you, but the Rinnegan? It's not yours."

Nagato's expression faltered.

"What did you say?"

George looked directly at him.

"You're strong, Nagato. Scary strong. But those eyes were never yours. They were planted. Years ago. By Uchiha Madara."

"That's a lie."

"It's not. You had the bloodline for it, Uzumaki, maybe some Senju mixed in. But he gave you those eyes for a reason. To revive him, eventually. You were part of a plan from the start."

Nagato clenched his fists. "How do you know that?"

"Because I've seen the whole web. And because the guy you think is Madara isn't Madara. He's a puppet. Just like the real Madara was. Just like you're about to be if you keep walking this path."

George's words made both silent.

Konan spoke first. "Why are you telling us this?"

"Because I respect what you're trying to do," George said. "You want peace. So do I. But your method's off. You're being used. And when you fall, it won't be the great nations who suffer, it'll be the orphans, the farmers, the workers. Again."

Nagato looked at the floor. His breath was uneven.

"If this is true… then what have I been doing?"

Konan moved closer, placing a hand on his shoulder.

George stood up.

"I'm not your enemy, Nagato. But if you touch my land, I will be. That's your only warning."

He turned and said again

"Think it through, Nagato, you're still not out of time yet."

With that, George directly used "Apparition" and vanished from his seat.
