In a beautiful forest lived an elephant, a goat and a goat. The three were good friends, but each was jealous of the other's talents.
The elephant envied the goat's ability to break trees with its horns, because it took a lot of force to break a tree with its trunk.
The goat envied the goat's agility in climbing high rocks.
The goat envied the elephant's impressive reputation and the respect of people.
One day, the three started talking and arguing about who was better. The wise old man of the forest, Uddhalak (mouse), advised them to do an experiment: "Each one of you should try to do each other's work. The one who succeeds the most will be considered the best."
First experiment: The goat's work breaking a tree.
The elephant pushed the tree with his trunk, but the tree only swayed. The goat hit the tree with its small horns, but the horns hurt and the tree did not break. The goat hit the tree twice with its powerful horns and the tree fell easily.
Second experiment: The goat's job climbing the rock.
The elephant tried to climb with its heavy body, but its feet got stuck and it fell down. The goat also tried to climb, but its feet slipped on the rock. The goat easily climbed the rock with its light body and agile feet and ate a piece of grass from above.
Third experiment: The elephant's job – drawing water from the river and watering the tree.
The goat and the goat tried to go to the tree with water in their mouths, but all the water ran away on the way. The elephant picked up a full cup of water with its trunk and watered the tree.
Result: All three were tired and realized that they had failed in their efforts. The old mouse smiled and said: "Look, nature has given everyone some special gift (speciality). The goat is good at breaking trees, the she-goat is good at climbing high, and the elephant is good at lifting heavy weights and distributing water. Instead of copying others, recognize your own speciality and use it. This is true excellence."
The three friends embarrassedly congratulated each other and vowed that in the future they would only be proud of their own strengths and respect the speciality of everyone.
Moral:
1. Happiness and success lie in recognizing and developing one's own strengths.
2. Every person (or animal) is unique; copying others is foolishness.
3. True friendship is appreciating each other's strengths and complementing each other.
