Kuwou Town. Kuoh Academy. Second-Year Class B.
While the rest of the class was diligently paying attention to the lecture, one student wore an expression of utter disbelief his face full of shock and confusion.
> "Did I just... transmigrate?"
Having fully absorbed the unfamiliar memories flooding his mind, the boy Shangguan Binghen muttered under his breath.
Interestingly, the name of this new body was the same as his in his past life: Shangguan Binghen. But beyond the name, everything else had changed. His appearance, his identity completely different.
In his previous life, he was a black-haired, black-eyed high school orphan. Fairly average-looking with a touch of handsomeness. Nothing too special.
But now?
Now, he had silver hair and piercing blue eyes. His face was strikingly handsome borderline ethereal with a trace of arrogance and melancholy that added to his allure. He was no longer just some average student. He was the eldest son of the prestigious Shangguan family, a Chinese transfer student studying abroad in Japan.
At least, that's what his current identity claimed.
But even as the family heir, he wasn't exactly beloved. In fact, the opposite was true. The Shangguan clan had long been known for their signature black hair and black eyes. His sudden appearance silver-haired and blue-eyed was seen as an abomination, a freak.
Because of this, he was shunned by the family.
And so, with the secret help of his younger sister, Shangguan Yuyan, he ended up transferring alone to Kuoh Academy in Japan.
> "Wait a second Kuwou Town? Kuoh Academy?!"
As he sifted through his new memories, an odd feeling crept into his heart. Then, like a lightbulb flicking on, realization struck. His bright blue eyes widened in shock.
Kuwou Town. Kuoh Academy.
Wasn't that the school where the protagonist and heroines from High School DxD studied? That wild world overflowing with devils, angels, fallen angels, and all kinds of supernatural chaos?!
Driven by an urgent need to confirm, Shangguan Binghen quickly combed through the inherited memories in his mind.
After about thirty minutes, he finally opened his eyes and let out a long sigh, followed by a wry smile.
The Shangguan family, it turned out, was no ordinary clan. A traditional Chinese sect known for cultivating ancient spiritual arts, they were well aware of the world's hidden truths. The legends of demons, immortals, angels, devils, fallen angels, vampires, dragons all of it. The Shangguan archives had records of them all.
And now, it was confirmed. Without a doubt, this was the world of High School DxD.
Even more convincing were the girls in his memories: Rias Gremory, Koneko Toujou, Akeno Himejima... They were all here. The very heroines of the original series.
> "I used to dream about transmigrating into a fantasy world, but I didn't expect to land somewhere this dangerous. Should I be thrilled... or terrified?"
He took a deep breath, slapped his cheeks lightly, and let out a helpless sigh.
Even as the outcast heir of the Shangguan family, he'd secretly learned a few basic cultivation techniques taught to him by his younger sister, in defiance of the family's wishes. With everyone keeping a close eye on him, and considering how hard it was to learn such arts, not to mention the importance of one's spiritual aptitude, he'd only managed to grasp the basics.
Aside from those, he had another ability an innate power called Sensory Suppression.
As the name implied, it dulled the enemy's perception of speed. This often created the illusion that he was moving incredibly fast, when in reality, it was the opponent who was reacting more slowly.
This power was reminiscent of Racer, one of the Oración Seis from Fairy Tail, whose magic did exactly that tripping up both Gray and Lyon during their first encounter.
His third ability was swordsmanship.
From a young age, Shangguan Binghen had been obsessed with the sword. Even without a formal teacher, years of relentless training and personal exploration had given him a respectable level of mastery.
> "With these abilities, I probably couldn't take on a mid-tier devil... but against humans or low-level devils? I should be able to hold my own. At least I'm not completely defenseless."
Having sorted through the situation, Shangguan Binghen finally eased his tense body and leaned back in his seat, a faint trace of calm returning to his eyes.
Years of exposure to internet novels had hardened his mind to the absurd. And being an orphan, he had learned to face life's curveballs without falling into despair or cynicism. His mental resilience had been forged in fire.
Just as he was reflecting on all this—
> Ding—
A strange voice echoed through his mind, cutting off his thoughts.
His expression shifted from surprise to joy. A smirk curled at the corner of his lips—playful, confident, and just a little wicked.
Now this was more like it.
A transmigrator without a cheat? That would've been embarrassing.

Activation complete. Hello, Master. I am Ling'er, your System Spirit for the "Fate Plunder System." Nice to meet you!
A sweet, clear voice rang out in his mind.
Shangguan Binghen's smirk widened.
> "A system spirit too? How considerate."
> Fate Plunder System, huh? The name alone had a nice domineering ring to it.
> "Ling'er, was it? Mind explaining what this system can do?"
His internal voice was calm and composed.
Having read countless system novels in his past life, he knew better than to shout out loud in shock. That was way too outdated.
