Chapter 207: The First Family Token in the Pirate World

Who was that?

Vivi's body froze instantly. She spun around, but saw no one.

A Devil Fruit user?

To suggest she should sell Alabasta—what a vile proposition.

Vivi remained fully alert, her eyes scanning every corner where someone might be hiding, afraid the voice's owner might suddenly launch a sneak attack.

"Crocodile has already hollowed out this nation. If there's no turning point, Alabasta will soon face annihilation."

In the East Blue,

The gathered pirates and Marines could clearly see the ravaged land of Alabasta through the crack in space.

They could also hear the conversation between Fang Yi and the Baroque Works assassin.

Vice Admiral Tsuru frowned and glanced at Crocodile's grim face. "Is this your doing, Crocodile? What a despicable move!"

The Navy Headquarters had detailed records of the Seven Warlords' movements.

Naturally, they also had intel on Alabasta. Crocodile's blatant coup attempt had already left plenty of traces.

But the World Government's policy was always: as long as it wasn't exposed to the public, they could pretend not to see it.

"Vice Admiral Tsuru, watch your words."

Crocodile's mood was foul after seeing the Game Merchant interfere with Alabasta. He replied coldly, "The Nefertari royal family used Dance Powder without authorization, causing droughts in many cities. What does that have to do with me?"

As long as he refused to admit it, no one could pass judgment on him.

Vice Admiral Tsuru gave him a cold glare. Without concrete evidence, she didn't want to waste words with a scum like this pirate.

From the golden Den Den Mushi came the slightly hopeful voice of one of the Five Elders: "Mr. Fang Yi, if you want Alabasta, the World Government can sell it to you at the lowest price."

"As far as I recall, Alabasta was the only country back then that chose not to move into Mary Geoise, correct?"

"In other words, Alabasta is not completely under World Government control."

Fang Yi's voice was soft, but it stung the ears of the Five Elders.

It really did seem like the Game Merchant couldn't be kept in the dark about anything in this world. As an outsider from another realm, he even knew such minor historical details.

"Mr. Fang Yi, that may be so, but we can dispatch the Marine Headquarters to extermi— I mean, to inform the royal family and civilians of Alabasta to evacuate!"

The Five Elder had originally meant to say "initiate a Buster Call to cleanse the island,"

But as the words reached his lips, he hesitated. If the Game Merchant found their methods distasteful, that could be disastrous, so he changed his wording at the last moment.

"No need."

Fang Yi refused outright.

Mutual slaughter would only lead to a loss of the world's essence.

Pirate consciousness would attempt to correct it.

Moreover,

Fang Yi smiled and said, "What I want isn't just an island, but a ruler with true will and conviction—someone with an unknown fate."

"So far, I haven't seen that spark of will in any of you—the will to reach out toward the future."

Everyone's expressions subtly shifted.

To reject the Five Elders' offer so bluntly, and claim they lacked a will the world's five most powerful leaders didn't possess—could it be that the mirror-like fissure had reflected that will in the young girl with long lake-blue hair?

...

"Impossible!"

Vivi loved her kingdom deeply. Even when backed into a corner, she was willing to infiltrate Baroque Works and seek a way to save her country.

Now, someone was declaring Alabasta doomed.

She felt only fury—alongside a hidden, creeping fear beneath it.

"If I can just gather the evidence that Crocodile framed my father, expose the truth… the people, deceived as they are, will understand. And the Marines…"

Her voice was agitated.

Overthrowing Crocodile had become her sole belief. She constantly reminded herself of it, just to keep from drowning in despair.

"Framed? What's this all about?"

The words were transmitted across the entire sea through the live-broadcasting Den Den Mushi.

Doflamingo looked over at Crocodile with interest, chuckling. "Looks like we're both ambitious villains the world loves to hate."

"Who is she, exactly? She infiltrated Baroque Works. Does this mean a Warlord tried to steal a kingdom?"

"She's... the Princess of Alabasta! I almost didn't recognize her in that getup!"

The pirates near Alabasta quickly recognized the royal figure who had once appeared in the newspapers.

No one had expected her to have infiltrated Baroque Works from within.

"That damned woman."

Crocodile's face darkened.

Now that his plot to seize the kingdom was public, he wished he could charge through the spatial rift and eliminate Vivi in a single sandstorm.

He regretted it now.

He had deliberately let her go back then. He'd always known her whereabouts and allowed her to join Baroque Works—just to toy with her like a headless fly and crush her spirit at the lowest point.

Now, the game had backfired.

"Nefertari Vivi."

Fang Yi looked at her and asked, "Even if a miracle happens and Crocodile is overthrown—then what?"

"Of course—"

Before Vivi could finish, Fang Yi interrupted, "Alabasta will usher in peace?"

Vivi nodded firmly.

That was the best outcome. Wasn't that enough?

"After Crocodile falls, new heroes will rise. This sea is never short of ambitious people looking to steal a kingdom."

Fang Yi smiled as he laid out the simple truth. "Then what? Will you infiltrate the Donquixote Family? Or the Beasts Pirates next, to overthrow the next 'hero'?"

Vivi fell silent.

"Alabasta sits on a giant island in the first half of the Grand Line, with rich mineral deposits and vast resources. But it has no powerful protectors—just a feast placed before predators, constantly emitting a tempting aroma."

"So tell me—will defeating Crocodile truly bring peace to Alabasta?"

Vivi's head buzzed.

Overthrowing Crocodile had been her ultimate goal, one she hadn't even seen a path toward accomplishing. Now someone had appeared and declared Crocodile just a starting-level boss—there were far worse enemies to come.

Her eyes turned red, but she forced herself to remain composed.

"What do you want?" she asked hoarsely. "Are you another pirate like Crocodile? Do you plan to take this country for yourself?"

Her body trembled slightly, but her gaze remained unwavering.

With the conviction to save her nation, she hadn't backed down even from a Warlord of the Sea—how could a few words shatter her resolve?

"Take it?"

Fang Yi shook his head. "That's not my intention. I just happen to need a large island—and I'm offering the Nefertari family a choice."

More and more people were obtaining the Contract Fruit and becoming players who landed on Death Islands.

Small islands couldn't hold enough players or corrupted creatures. The Death Islands needed expansion.

Of course,

Fang Yi could simply spend reward points to create a larger space—but he had another plan:

The launch of family territories.

The pirate world was uniquely suited—not a vast continent, but scattered islands—perfect starting grounds for player families.

It would also allow him to expand beginner villages for pirate players at minimal cost,

And in doing so, devour the pirate world's unwilling participants.

"A choice?"

Vivi was confused, but her guard didn't lower.

A parchment-like contract appeared before her out of thin air, and the information within it flowed directly into her mind.

Moments later,

Her eyes were filled with shock. She murmured, "A Reincarnation Game that can grant any wish?!"

Once she signed the contract,

Most of Alabasta would merge with the Game, becoming part of the Reincarnation Game.

She would receive a Family Token, allowing her to establish a family territory.

Once activated,

The family territory could consume reward points to build walls and weapons, construct various functional buildings, host family members, and be protected by the Game's rules—making it nearly impossible for pirates or schemers to invade.

This token—

Was the first of its kind in the pirate world. Alabasta was the bait Fang Yi had selected.

It was a test to gauge how pirate-world players would respond to family tokens and adjust the system's design accordingly.

"Sell the island…"

It felt like finding a bottle of water in a dry desert—but drinking it came at an immense cost.

She'd have to sell Alabasta.

Vivi recalled what had just been said:

Even if Crocodile were overthrown, would Alabasta truly have peace?

A brief peace, perhaps…

But without powerful protectors, Alabasta would again become prey on a chessboard of ambition. What could she even do?

She lowered her head, her long blue hair falling over her face. She covered her face with her hands, tears streaming from between her fingers.

"Why?"

She bit her lip hard, the taste of blood rising in her throat, and asked hoarsely, "This country, and its people struggling in this desert… what did we ever do wrong?"

When she lifted her head, her eyes burned with anger and grief.

Tears had washed away the powder disguising her features, revealing a face of flawless beauty.

The royal princess of Alabasta—so beautiful she was difficult to look at directly.
