The room seemed to tighten around them as Jasper pulled her chin closer.
"And what about the boy's father? Where is he and why isn't he looking for his son?"
"He's angry." Hiraya looked sideways unable to stand the tormenting sight of her brother anymore. "Griffin's father blames me for everything. I don't know if he's looking for him. But he has given me twenty hours to produce our son or suffer his wrath."
"That's one cruel lover of yours." Jasper snarled, a hint of jealousy lacing his words.
"Nathaniel is not my lover. He is my benefactor and my boss."
"A boss you had a son for." Jasper pointed out, icily.
"It was a contract." Hiraya forcefully pulled her chin away from her brother's grip, testing his patience. She hugged herself, more fake tears streaming down her face as she told her lies. "He helped me in the past and in return, I signed a contract to give him a son and work for him for ten years."
