Lethonia wasted no time with unleashing his Mana. I didn't respond by unleashing my Mana though. [Thunder Cannon] He was caught off guard by the sudden spell that came towards him, yet he still dodged in time. "Using underhanded tactics? Just as I gained respect for you I lost it. Don't think you can catch me off guard again God Candidate." He was right. I wasted my one opportunity to do a sneak attack at the beginning of the fight. [All Skills Activated] "I won't need a sneak attack to take you down."
I need to bring him down fast. I don't know what he's capable of, and I haven't even seen him draw his blade yet. I drew my blade and dashed towards him at full speed, holding my sword in front of me. I reached him near instantly and swung my blade. It felt like it caught itself on something, but it didn't touch him. It felt like there was a barrier around him. He smirked. "You didn't think I would just stand there and take a hit, did you? This is a Mana Barrier. There is a way to get past it, but I wouldn't tell my enemy how to do so."
I jumped back. "That seems pretty bullshit. What about a fair fight?" His speed felt blinding as he appeared in front of me and punched me in the stomach. "I'm already handicapped to 50% of my power; now you complain about a fair fight? You disgust me." He threw a roundhouse kick that I didn't have enough time to dodge. It sent me flying to the other side of the stadium. My tempest armour isn't working against him. I need to find a way past that barrier. My sword aura wasn't enough though, so what would work?
I felt time slow around me as I saw the message. [You can still choose a divine skill, remember?] Kamina! You're a lifesaver. What was the list again? [Divine Bolt, Demonic Flames, and Chains of Chaos] Oh yeah, they all sound awful. [You can't read their descriptions?] You're telling me that was an option? [Yes, have you never played an RPG in your life?] You know I have; just tell me the skill descriptions.

[A good choice Damon.] [Obtained Divine Skill: Chains of Chaos] Time began to speed up to what it was normally after I took the skill. I couldn't stop myself from smiling. "What's with that look on your face? You're acting like you figured out my Mana Barrier in the few moments I left you there." [Bringer of Chaos Level 1 Activated] "You have no idea what you are in for." [Chains of Chaos Level 1 Activated] Portals formed behind me as the blades of the chains protruded out of the portal slightly.
"This skill looks cool as hell. Let's see if it's as good as it looks." The chains launched towards him at incredible speeds. Instead of standing still, he chose to dodge the chains instead. "Looks like I did figure out your weakness. All it would take to take down your Mana Barrier is a higher-ranked skill or overpowering it with my own Mana." The portals kept summoning more and more chains to try and get him, but he kept dodging. This skill is very Mana depleting; I need to think of something, otherwise I will never win like this.
I charged at him again, forcing more Mana onto my blade than I could expend to keep [Chains of Chaos] going. I put all my force into one final swing. It had slashed him, but the slice healed nearly instantly after. "You really tried, but in the end you failed." [Chains of Chaos Deactivated] [All Skills Deactivated] Damnit, I used too much Mana. "You die here God Candidate!" If only I had enough time to dodge. His hand pierced through my chest. Luckily my passive revitalization was still going, but I didn't know how long it would go on for.
Lethonia threw my body into the stadium wall. [Passive Revitalization Deactivated] Damnit. I can't let myself die. He isn't even at full strength, and he's throwing me around like a toy. [Damon! Are you okay?] Obviously not Kamina; there is a gaping hole in my chest. I'm lucky he missed my vital organs. [You can still beat him, though; you have to.] Well Kamina, I don't know how I can get out of this situation alive. [Mana is driven by willpower. ] What do you mean Mana is driven by willpower? I thought Mana was driven by imagination? [That is what Merlin alluded to, huh? No, Mana is used through the imagination. Its power and effectiveness is driven purely by will. Show them the might of your will Damon.]
Lethonia walked over to me. "Are you ready to admit defeat?" I laughed at his face. "I'm not done yet; after all, [Bringer of Chaos] is still active!" [Chains of Chaos Level 1 Activated] The chains shot straight through his Mana barrier and pierced through him like butter. [Chains of Chaos Level 1 Deactivated] [Bringer of Chaos Level 1 Deactivated] He collapsed after the chains disappeared. I grab my sword and walk over to Lethonia's body. "Looks like I got another sneak attack after all." Lethonia looked like he was experiencing extreme pain right now. "End me God Candidate. I lost this battle and my honor."
"I won't kill you. I didn't beat you while you were at full strength, so I don't want to kill you." Lethonia laughed at the sentiment. "You are a fool. I already admitted defeat. The power you will gain from becoming Demon King will make the outcome be the same even if I were at 200% of my power. End my life so I can retain the last bit of my honor that I hold." His face looked sincere. His body no longer radiated bloodlust, like he finally learned what peace is. I stabbed my blade through his heart. [Defeated a Demon Marquis, Reward: 3x Divinity]
[Would you like to absorb the soul of the dead?] I accept. His soul left his body, retaining the form of his body. He whispered "Thank you" as his soul dissipated into the blade.
