Nodding at Millicas, the headmaster moved the conversation along. "Now then, could you tell us your recollection of the night's events?"

Millicas did so easily, retelling the fight from when he left the alleyway to his encounter with Miss Goodwitch.

The Professors listened carefully but didn't interrupt him till he was done.

Once he was done, Glynda turned her scroll around and played different sets of videos taken from the cameras both inside the store and the area outside of it to

illustrate the fight from an outside perspective while Ozpin commented on it.

"I confess that while your fighting abilities are excellent, your ability to manipulate your Aura is what is truly astonishing.

Not many huntsmen can project it into blasts, and outside of specialized Semblances, Flight is something that I never thought possible,"

Ozpin praised the young man, using videos of Millicas' Kiai, Ki Blast, and his Ki-based Flight to exemplify his point.

Millicas easily explained the mechanics behind the different techniques to the two professors.

He didn't correct the assumption that it was aura manipulation and not ki, but whether they could end up reproducing the skills with aura didn't matter to the red-haired devil in the large scheme of things.

The videos continued with only small comments on the young man's actual

hand-to-hand skills and the different applications of the techniques before Glynda stopped the recording after it showed the outside perspective of the Bullhead disintegrating into nothingness.

"I would guess that was you using your Semblance, Mister Gremory?" Ozpin commented softly.

"Yeah, my semblance is Erasure," Millicas lied easily. "As the name implies, it allows me to disintegrate things I channel my Aura into.

The effectiveness of it and the ratio of Aura to Mass varies, but that's the gist of it."

"Fascinating," The Headmaster said. "And your reasoning for using it on the aircraft?"

"I have no experience flying a Bullhead, let alone landing one," He replied jokingly before continuing.

"And leaving the thing to fall down in a residential area after knocking off its pilot would be the height of stupidity."

The video continued, an alleyway camera showing the moment he cut Roman's legs off with his bastardized replication of the Getsuga Tenshou.

Before Ozpin could ask about it, Millicas explained himself.

"Yeah, that's the primary reason I don't take contracts that deal with things other than Grimm.

With enough aura, I can channel my semblance to bypass the aura of others," Millicas said sadly.

"It's not something to be proud of, but at the time I couldn't risk dealing with a huntsman-level enemy like Torchwick and his unknown companion,"

He finished without looking the older man in the eyes.

Ozpin could see that the brutal choice weighed on the young freelancer. Theirs was a noble but at times ugly profession and heavy choices were a dime a dozen on the field.

A moment of silence settled in the room before Glynda continued to play the recording of the fight.

The footage changed to show the view of a street camera focusing on Cinder and Millicas' small altercation before the final strike's shockwave shook the camera widely, the video ending abruptly afterwards.

"You ended the confrontation quickly and decisively, even if an argument can be made about unneeded brutality, regarding how you dealt with Roman Torchwick in particular.

You acted in accordance with the law and what was expected of a huntsman," Ozpin commented.

"Additionally," the blond continued after setting the scroll down on the table,

"you attempted to minimize collateral damage and purposely accounted for the safety of the citizens by dealing with the Bullhead."

She said while flipping through some files on the scroll's screen.

"Under normal circumstances, we would let you go right now with just a commendation for your actions, but we have additional questions for you if you don't mind?"

Before Millicas could answer the headmaster's request, a new video played on the scroll.

From inside the store, the footage showed him entering the place and approaching Ruby before leaving with her in tow;

a second recording showed the two teens walking down the street before disappearing into the alleyway.

Sighing loudly, the red-haired devil looked the headmaster in the eyes before smiling weakly.

"I know it looks bad, but just for the record, I want you to know that me, passing by the store twice in the same night was an unintended consequence of me trying to get to the northern heliport," Millicas explained.

"So you approaching Miss Rose was a coincidence?" Glynda asked, her tone showing her disbelief.

"Me approaching her was a spur-of-the-moment bad decision, one guided by the reason I was going to take a bullhead to Beacon and contact you, headmaster, before I was distracted by the robbery."

Ozpin and Glynda looked at each other after that comment. Looking at the young teen with curiosity in his eyes, the white-haired wizard couldn't find any lies in the freelancer's expression.

"You wanted to talk to me?" He asked the teen for confirmation.

"Yes, the whole reason I came to Vale after the disaster that was my last mission was that I needed to contact you," Millicas explained, "you know what that mission was, I reckon?"

Having been the one to do the background check, Glynda answered immediately. "You and three other freelancers were tasked to accompany a group of investigators to the ruins of a settlement north of Vacuo."

"That's what I thought as well, only to take a nap in the Bullhead and wake up to find out we are all the way upwards in the Grimmlands and our Bullhead is falling in an uncontrollable descent because of The Grimm," Millicas said with a sarcastic smile on his face.

The revelation earned him some understanding from the two professionals.

It wasn't the first time some crazy scientist wanted to explore the Grimmlands that occupied a grand part of the dragon-shaped landmass north of the Sanus continent;

both the kingdoms of Vale and Vacuo had to deal with their fair share of them, but regrettably, they couldn't regulate all travel to the place like Atlas could.
