After the questioning was done Rain uncuffed Finn and took him to fill out some papers. After he had to take some weird oath to the government.
'Basically, signing my life away.'
Through all this Finn and Rain didn't really talk. It was getting late and all that paper work got them both hungry.
Currently they were walking down the hall on their way out of the building.
"Hey… how about I offer you some dinner tonight? I am your captain now, I guess might as well show you some hospitality."
Finn spared him a tired look.
"… sure"
Rain stretched his arms.
"Alright let me think…"
He covered his mouth with his hands and his eyes looked like they were lost in thought.
"Ah I got it… have you ever had pizza before?"
Finn turned to Rain.
"Can' say I ever tried it."
Rains eye brows raised.
"I'm sure you'll like it."
As he said that they had finally reached the front door.
Rain pulled out a key from his coats pocket and clicked a button on it.
"Alright get in."
Finn stared at the fancy car in front of him for a few seconds.
'I guess it's a perk that comes with the job'
[Finn. I finished synchronizing the dagger with your tree ether you can now store it in your inventory for as long as you like.]
'That's great I was worried that damned weapon would pop out at any second. Great work Gris'
[Oh, there's no need to praise lil ol' me.]
'Alright enough out of you.'
Finn got into the car and with the sound of the engine starting up the car started moving. Finn watched the beautiful neon lights of the crowded city at night.
'So, this is how luxurious it is behind those walls. These people don't know how good they have it.'
"I bet by now you're thinking about how much these people are taking this easy life for granted, right?"
Finn kept looking out the window next to him.
"Maybe so… I'm not a fool though. I know how safe it is once you get behind those walls. They don't need to worry about the dangers beyond it. Honestly I'm trying to provide the same life style for my sister."
"Right your sister, we'll be driving by where Brock lives. You should probably say your goodbyes to her."
Finn finally turned to face Rain.
"What? Why?"
"Well, you will have to live in the search and rescue department building from now on since we need to have eyes on you all the time. Don't worry though you'll get to see her when your off work during holidays… which will be pretty rare."
Rain was silent for a few moments but carried on with.
"…Sorry."
Finn sighed.
"As long as she's safe."
The rest of the car ride to the restaurant was quiet.
Finally arriving at their destination Finn was starving. They got out the car and entered the restaurant and sat at a table for two.
They made their orders and waited.
Finn was sitting opposite to Rain he looked half dead his head and laid on the table and his look seemed distant.
"Food… I want food"
Upon the food arriving Finn's expression lit up.
While Rain was half way done with his pizza Finn had already devoured his own.
"Damn kid, I know I said you'll like it but I didn't expect you to enjoy it this much."
Finn paid him no attention as he currently felt stuffed.
After they were done with their food Rain paid the bill and they were now on their way to Brock's home.
It was getting late.
'I wonder if she's even still awake.'
They finally arrived and as Finn expected only Brock was outside waiting for him.
Finn got out the car and walked up to Brock.
He stood there for a second.
"Don't worry kid. I'll take care of her for you."
Finn looked at Brock for a second then hugged him.
"You two take care of each other."
Brock patted him on the back.
"You be careful out there."
Finn looked up at him.
"Is she still awake?"
Brock shook his head.
"You want me to wake her?"
"No, she'll cry if she sees me leave like this."
Finn walked past Brock and made his way inside.
By the time Finn got inside Rain got out the car and walked to Brock.
"He's just a kid."
Rain looked disappointed.
"We have many like him."
Brocks eyes widened.
"Such a shame the government relies on kids."

After searching Finn found the room Makka was sleeping in.
He opened the door and made his way in. Her window was open and the moon light was cast on one side of her bed and the floor.
Finn sat on the side of the bed with the moon light on it while Makka was asleep in the dark part.
He stared at the ground.
"I'm going to be gone for a while you know."
He found his gaze turning to her.
"Take care of your self for me please."
After some moments spent in silence, he made it back out the house.
"Brock. I'll transfer you money at the start of each month. That money goes all for Makka, use it for her clothes, food and even school fees. You don't need to take on the burden of paying for a child's expenses when that child isn't even yours."
No body was in the mood to talk. Brock knew there was no point in arguing since Finn would be stubborn and send the money anyway.
After this Finn got his bag from Brock and now him and Rain were on the way to the search and rescue department building.
"It's good to have something to be attached to, it gives you a reason to not give up when in a fight since your focused on making it back alive for that thing."
Finn stared out the window those words lingering in the back of his mind.
