CHAPTER 6
CHLOE'S POV
So, the movie was nice. I actually cried but I loved it. I was surprised that Keith also cried.
"Keith, please pass me the tissue box and the last slice of pizza", and he did, wiping his own tears.
"The movie was nice", Jess spoke normally, cos she didn't cry.
"How come you didn't cry?", I asked and she shrugged.
"I don't know", she replied and left to the kitchen.
"Nicholas and Sofia were made for their roles in the movie. I love how they were so in sync".
"Exactly, the fact that it seemed like they were actually in love, is what's got me wondering if they're actually in a relationship in real life", he said and we chuckled.
"You know, I didn't think you were into romance?"
"It's just that I don't tell everyone I'm into romantic movies", he replied sniffling.
" How about we watch ROM COMS, every weekend. It'll be like a hangout. Just you and I, cos my sister hates them", I suggested.
"Not actually a bad idea"
"I know right"
"Except that I won't be available, some weekends. I'm gonna be at basketball practice and as captain, I can't bail", he explained.
Keith is the captain of our school's basketball team, The Panthers. I see why Nolan hates him. Nolan was supposed to be captain but, something happened and the coach gave the position to Keith.
"Oh, well that's not gonna be a problem cos we'll only watch movies if we're both available"
"Yeah"

8:38 pm
"You're so funny", I said, laughing at something Keith did.
We spent the whole day together, since my sister ditched us to go see Matt.
"Ok, but I was right though, wasn't I?"
"I don't have the answer to that, besides, you should get going. It's late and we have school tomorrow, ok?"
"You're right, I'll drive you to school tomorrow?", he offered.
"It's not really necessary", I tried to decline.
"I insist as your friend"
"Ok, good night"
"Good night", he left.

MONDAY
I woke up as early as 5 and prepared myself for school. Jess didn't come home last night but I didn't mind.
I wore a long sleeve black crop top and blue jean pinafore, paired with my Nike sneakers. I let my hair down today and did a middle part.
I applied mascara, eyeliner and lipgloss, before staring at my reflection in my full-length mirror. I looked ready to go.
I grabbed my phone, backpack, keys and my wallet before going downstairs for breakfast.
I made a ham sandwich and freshly squeezed orange juice. I ate as quickly as I could.
Immediately I stepped out the door, I saw Keith, grinning.
"Good morning, Forrest", he was wearing a white shirt, black leather jacket and blue jean pants.
"Good morning, I never thought that you were an early bird", I teased but I was being honest.
"Just get in", he said getting into his black sports car and I did too, before he drove off to school.

I wasn't sure on how I was going to face the whole school questioning me about I and Nolan's breakup. As if he knew, Keith placed his hand on mine and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
"You'll be fine"
"I know"
We had arrived Lakewood high and students were already swarming in and out of the school.
We got down and head to our lockers in the hallway. Mine was B-16 while Keith's was H-7, so he had to go further in the hallway.
"I'll meet you back here before our first class?", he asked.
"Yeah", he left.
I arranged my stuff in my locker and just as I slammed it shut, I felt a light tap on my shoulder and I turned around.
"Good morning, sunshine", Nolan greeted me, and it seemed like he was hiding something from my view.
"Good morning Nolan", I tried my best to smile.
"I just wanted to give you these", he said handing me a cup of chocolate shake and a box of cookies.
"Wow, you didn't have to. I mean literally", I accepted them.
"I just wanted you to know that I am deeply sorry for screwing Hailey---", I cut him off.
"It's too early for that, please. I don't wanna ruin my mood", I pleaded.
"It's fine", he sounded sad.
"Thanks for these by the way", I appreciated.
" Anything for you, Chloe", he said and I blushed. Why the heck am I even blushing.
"I'm back", I turned around to see Keith. He froze in his steps as he saw Nolan.
"What's going on here?", Keith asked, moving towards me.
"We were-----", I was cut off by Nolan.
"Chloe, what's he doing here?"
This was practically what I was avoiding since Keith and I got close. Lord please help me!!!
"Uhm, he and I are friends", I explained.
"And when did that happen?"
"The night, I broke up with you", I said with my head low.
This is---- I'm at loss of words!
"Forrest, I think we should get to class", Keith finally spoke up, glaring at Nolan.
"Chloe, I'm gonna walk you to class", Nolan retorted.
" No, she's going with me", Keith countered.
I knew this would happen sooner or later.
" How about you both walk me to class?", I suggested, but--
" No!", they exclaimed at once.
"Fine then, I'm going to class alone. You two can keep on bantering", I walked away.

I spent all my classes avoiding Keith and Nolan. I didn't want to be caught up in some kind of drama.
Now, the only class I had left was Fashion Designing class. I took this class seriously because I want to be a fashion brand owner- or anything concerning fashion. Hehe.
I walked into the class and sat at my usual seat, the back seat of course.
I just loved it. I had given out the milkshake and cookies Nolan got me earlier. I didn't want to accept things from him.
"Hey", I was startled to see Keith sitting beside me.
"What are you doing here?", I asked.
"Well, I take this class cos I wanna be a model".
I looked at him from his head down to his toe. He would make a fine model though. His blackish brown eyes, his plump lips, his muscles, his---- the fuck? What am I even thinking? Get a grip on yourself, Chloe.
"Forrest, are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine", I was still checking him out.
"Ok, settle down everyone", our class teacher, Miss Donna said.
She welcomed us back to school and since this was our final year, she began talking about our projects.
I could barely hear a word she was saying. My attention was on Keith, he was seriously jotting down some notes and I found it kinda sexy, how he was focused.
'Get it together girl', I slapped myself mentally. I just broke up with Nolan and I think it's what's affecting me.
"Ok, so since the class has an equal amount of boys and girls, I will be pairing you guys"
"Here are the names of partners: Holly and Peter, Pamela and Anderson, Chloe and Keith---", what Miss Donna just said, jolted me out of my thoughts.
"Seems like we're partners, eh?", Keith smiled at me but I was still stunned.
He's gonna make this stupid temporary feeling worse.
