Tears welled up in Wilde's eyes from the overwhelming gratitude.
"Don't mention it."
Jihl brushed it off with a single line, then began to glance around as if searching for something.
"Ah, are you looking for Bao Bei? Just a little while ago, he went with Dr. Layla to the herb room."
As expected from someone with a merchant's instincts, Wilde immediately responded to what Jihl was looking for.
"I see. No, I actually have business with Layla. Well then."
He quickly stood up from the chair and headed out into the hallway.
Behind him, Wilde hurriedly covered her mouth with his hand to stifle the laugh that had nearly escaped.
He didn't notice. Nor did he hear the muttered words that followed.
"I used to think people who could use magic were terrifying, but… they're really no different from us, huh."
