Chapter 6 - He Detest Her

It was Jada, his Luna, who entered the room.

"Um, I think we will be leaving now, my Alpha," Lucas said, and they left before Marcus could respond, leaving only him and Jada in the office.

"It seems you're already going home? But it's not yet time for your closure," Jada said to Marcus, her expression worried as she was uncomfortable with how Leo and Lucas immediately left the office upon seeing her.

"Is there any problem? Why are their expressions solemn?" She asked, but she didn't get any answer from Marcus.

After about five seconds of no reply from Marcus, Jada threw another question. "Are you leaving for the pack? Maybe I could..."

"Leave, Jada. I don't need disturbance," Marcus said with a gloomy voice. He didn't even turn to her while talking to her.

Jada frowned, then walked closer to Marcus. She seductively grabbed his biceps from his back and blew a kiss in his ear. "It's been two days since you haven't slept at home, and this is how you're treating me, Marcus."

"I really miss you," she cooed him, caressing his body, mostly his chest region.

Marcus paused his action and stood silent for some seconds, making Jada think she's getting through to him, which made her add more energy.

Slowly, her left hand shifted from his chest region down to his waist region. She was about to grab his hand when Marcus groaned, "I said get the hell out of my office!" He yelled and pushed her away from himself.

Jada was so stunned that she became stiff. She was surprised because she never expected this.

"What has come over you, Marcus? You pushed me away?" She remarked after a few seconds of silence.

"And I will do that again since it's the only language you understand," Marcus said, continuing what he was doing.

"I warned you and everyone that I don't need a disturbance, yet you came to my office and started harassing me. What if a business partner accidentally walks in here without permission? I believe he'd be super impressed to see the scene you were trying to create."

He sighed, picked up the briefcase, and turned to leave.

"You still haven't forgotten about her?" Jada snapped, causing Marcus to halt at the door.

"It's been two years already, and you're yet to forget about my sister, Nina," she added as she realized she had gotten Marcus' attention.

However, Marcus breathed a heavy sigh and gently dropped his briefcase without looking down.

He then turned back and started walking back towards Jada. His expression was stoic, and his gaze was cold and unforgiving.

"How many times do I have to say that no one is to say her name in my presence?" Marcus asked, his tone venomous.

Jada was taken aback by Marcus' reaction. She began moving backward, her eyes downcast as she tried to escape Marcus's devilish intention because that tone and expression aren't for good, of course!

After walking for a while, Marcus stopped and issued her a warning. "You should be careful. It seems you've forgotten who you're dealing with just because you stay with me. You've..."

"Was I lying? Of course, you still love her. If not, why would you leave your pack for your beta and gamma to run it and move to this city just because you overheard Nina is staying here?"

"You opened a company and checks the staff weekly to know if Nina is among them," Jada said, clenching her lips as she paused, her eyes defiant.

"You even forgot she betrayed you. She cheated on you and wanted to pin someone else's child on you! Have you..."

Before she could finish, Marcus landed a hot slap on her cheek. "How dare you!" He yelled, his face reddening in anger.

Jada held her cheek with so much pain in her eyes. She gulped hard, trying to assuage her anger and pain, but it was unbearable. The slap hurt her differently.

"You slapped me, Marcus?" She cried. "I've been the one with you all this while, the one by your side for the past two years."

"Had Nina ever called or texted you to know how you're doing ever since she left? Yet you're yet to forget about her... You refused to love me. What's so special about Nina? What does she have that I don't have?" She wailed, her tone laced with pain.

Jada seemed not to relent from her abusive words.

Marcus was infuriated. His wolf was awakening out of anger, but he managed not to transform. He knew if he continued to be aggressive towards her, it wouldn't help but worsen his problem.

As an Alpha, he's expected much from, than laying his hand on a woman, not to mention his Luna.

Marcus walked closely to her, breathing through his mouth as his pulse paced faster because of the anger.

At this point, the gap between them was barely an inch. However, Jada couldn't move back anymore because she's already leaning on the wall.

"Do you really need an answer for that, huh?" Marcus asked, his breath penetrating through Jada's nose.

Jada was terrified; she leaned closer to the wall as if she was about to penetrate through the wall to escape.

Marcus held her shirt collar tighter with one of his hands and used the second one to hold her head up, forcing her to look at his face, and then he whispered to her, "Nina has the ability to make me love her while you don't. I'm still trying to figure out how I ended up with you."

Jada struggled to wriggle free from his grip but couldn't. She was coughing hard.

"Listen," Marcus went on.

"The next time you try to talk back at me or challenge me, I won't hesitate to break you into pieces, and the vultures will feast on you. Nonsense!"

He stormed out of the office with his briefcase in his left hand and his suit hanging on his shoulder.

Jada exhaled in weakness as she watched Marcus walk out of the office nonchalantly. Tears welled up in her eyes. She has sacrificed a lot of effort to keep this man, but it seems he's starting to get himself.

After everything she had done for him to love him, it seems it's fading away. She had gone far away to get black magic, which she used on him.

Initially, it got him, but it seems it's not working this time anymore despite the fact that she had renewed it multiple times.
