Chapter 28 - Emergency room

Unfortunately, he was obedient to her every word which was quite troublesome.

Elijah looked at Emma with piercing eyes and asked, "Do you need my help?"

Dealing with a mere Thomas shouldn't have made her look so disheveled.

Emma shook her head. "I can handle it myself. But if I do need your help, I won't hesitate to ask."

She smiled up at him, and her bright eyes seemed to sparkle like stars.

"Alright, take care of yourself," Elijah said before turning and leaving.

Before he left, he glanced at the bound kidnappers on the ground.

That one look made the three kidnappers sense danger. In that moment, they felt their hair stand on end and dared not move or breathe.

This was a truly terrifying person.

He didn't show his emotions, but he exuded a destructive aura.

If the kidnappers had any dirty thoughts before, Elijah's silent warning made them think twice.

Emma watched Elijah disappear into the night.

If it weren't for the deep footprint he left on the iron gate, she would have thought his appearance was just an illusion.

He was the only outsider who came from afar to save her.

And all she had given him was a small amount of kindness, yet he still went out of his way to help her.

Emma couldn't help but feel grateful - choosing to cling onto Elijah's thigh was indeed the right decision.

Not long after Elijah left, the sound of a car engine could be heard outside the factory once again.

This time, it could only be Benjamin.

"He's here," Emma thought, about to instruct the kidnappers to take their positions. However, when she turned her head, she saw that the three of them, despite their injuries from the beating earlier, had already obediently stood in place.

Outside the factory, two cars pulled up and Benjamin and Sebastian quickly got out with several bodyguards.

The unlucky kidnapper who was caught pointed towards the factory and said, "She's in there."

Everyone rushed in.

The factory was dirty and messy, and the few lights overhead were dim.

With just one glance, Benjamin saw his daughter curled up in a corner.

"Emma!"

As a father, his heart trembled with excitement and he rushed over. "Where are you hurt? Don't be afraid, Daddy's here to save you."

Emma's hands and feet were bound, and before she could even feel relieved to see her father, she shouted in fear, "Dad, be careful!"

Three kidnappers rushed out from behind, ready to strike with their wooden sticks. However, Sebastian immediately ordered the bodyguards to charge forward and within moments, all the kidnappers were subdued.

Emma let out a sigh of relief, tears streaming down her face.

Benjamin untied the ropes and helped her up.

"Let's go home."

But as soon as Emma stood up, she saw Thomas standing next to her!

"Second Uncle..." she murmured, suddenly hiding behind Benjamin and crying out in fear, "Dad, I'm scared. The kidnappers said Second Uncle hired them to kill me. I'm scared..."

Thomas was filled with hatred, but he had to put on a remorseful expression.

"Emma, it's all Second Uncle's fault. Second Uncle was just going through a tough time recently and made a mistake. I never meant to hurt you."

"So you're saying that it's okay to kidnap me and demand five million just because you were going through a tough time? If you make another mistake, should the whole Miller Family change their name to Gu because of you?"

Thomas was speechless.

Emma continued with an innocent expression, "My dad has never mistreated you. I don't know why Second Uncle would ask for five million. Did the six million we lost last time also end up in Second Uncle's pocket?"

"Nonsense!" Thomas denied vehemently, his face turning red.

But Sebastian, who always opposed him, spoke up at this moment. "I have a contract here that was anonymously sent to me yesterday during the investigation of the ordering incident."

He handed the contract directly to Benjamin.

It clearly stated that it was a batch of experimental steel, priced at only a few hundred thousand and at the bottom was Thomas's signature.

It was clear where the sixty million had gone.

Benjamin closed his eyes and finally sighed, "Pack up and leave tomorrow morning. Our family cannot tolerate such a heartless person like you!"

It was final.

Emma and Uncle Robinson exchanged a glance.

They had been waiting for this moment.

Thomas collapsed on the ground, looking defeated.

But Benjamin spoke again, "You have to return the embezzled money. I may not hold you responsible, but the money belongs to the company. You created this hole, so you have to fill it!"

Thomas was shocked. "Brother, are you really going to do this to me? You're not leaving me any way out!"

"Give you a way out?" Benjamin sneered. "I have my limits, and you crossed them. If you dare to touch my daughter, I'll skin you alive!"

As Thomas opened his mouth to say something, Benjamin waved his hand and said, "That's enough. You guys can leave tomorrow!"

With that, he took Emma and left the factory to go to the hospital to treat their wounds.

Emma felt a sense of relief that she couldn't quite describe. Looking back, her father would probably realize that there were some flaws and loopholes in their plan, but that didn't matter. What mattered was that he had seen Thomas's true colors.

Keeping someone like him around would only lead to trouble.

Thankfully, she had managed to drive the family away.

However, just as they were about to get into the car, Benjamin received a phone call.

The person on the other end of the line sounded anxious as they said, "This is the Lincheng Hospital. Your wife has been in a car accident.

Please come as soon as possible!"

Upon hearing this news, Benjamin's head was buzzing.

"Hurry, let's go to the hospital!"

Benjamin said as he hurriedly got into the car.

Emma and Uncle Robinson exchanged a glance and frowned at the same time.

Could it be that things were just too coincidental?

Could it be that... something else had happened?

Emma couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she didn't have time to think about it now. She got into the car and turned to Sebastian, saying, "Uncle Robinson, there's a friend of mine named Aria inside. Could you please take her home?"

"Okay."

Benjamin and Emma rushed to the hospital in a hurry.

They ran all the way to the emergency room, only to find Amelia sitting on a bench outside the room, looking relatively unharmed except for a few scratches on her arm.

Both Emma and Benjamin breathed a sigh of relief.

When Amelia saw Emma, she looked worried and asked, "Emma, are you okay? Did those kidnappers do anything to you?"

"No," Emma replied.

Emma frowned and looked at the light shining from the emergency room, asking, "Mom, who is the person being treated in there?"
