Chapter 10 - Aiko’s part

In East Asia, in a country called Kroeo, in the heart of the city of Neron, a little girl was born with purple eyes that matched her hair. Everyone admired her; some said her beauty was beyond words.

Aiko was the best from the start; her talent was endless, and she was born into one of the richest families in the country. She had a perfect life. But Aiko always felt like something was missing.

Aiko wandered aimlessly through her family's huge mansion. The walls were painted white, and pillars decorated with jewels were everywhere. Her dad always said that after him, all this wealth would be hers, but Aiko didn't care about it, maybe because she'd never wanted for anything.

A ton of guys had proposed to Aiko, but she turned them down one after another. Aiko knew the only reason they were into her was her beauty and wealth, nothing else.

Aiko's mom was always chilling or doing her makeup; she thought beauty was the only thing that mattered in the world and that with beauty, you could get anything.

The servants were always nice to Aiko, but she knew it was just part of their job, and deep down, they didn't care about connecting with her.

Nobody paid attention to what Aiko wanted. Her dad always made decisions for her, but none of them were what she truly wanted.

Aiko's dad gently put a hand on her shoulder.

Aiko's dad: [Next year you'll turn 16; it's time to find a fiancé.]

Aiko hated this idea with all her heart, but she knew arguing wouldn't get her anywhere.

Aiko: [Yes, Dad.]

Aiko's dad smiled.

Aiko's dad: [It's time for your magic training; your coach is waiting.]

Aiko walked through the yellow hallway and reached the wooden door where her coach was waiting. She turned the handle and opened it. The room was full of obstacles and target zones; one side had magical weapons, the other had regular ones.

The coach gave a forced smile.

Coach: [Hey, good to see you.]

Aiko stood next to the coach, who pointed to a spot on the white wall.

Coach: [Hit that.]

Aiko stretched her hand out, and a blue orb, like ocean waves, formed in her palm.

Aiko launched the orb at the wall, and it exploded with a loud boom, bricks and plaster flying everywhere.

The coach put a hand on Aiko's shoulder.

Coach: [You've got serious talent.]

Aiko's dad walked into the room with a smile.

Dad: [Aiko, come meet your fiancé.]
