After that happened, Min-Jae went to the 3rd floor to let the students know everything was okay and they could come out without fear.
Then, as he walked outside, he was met by people from the Hunter Association. Woo Jin-Chul was present there too.
"Everything is taken care of," Min-Jae said as they looked at him when he walked out.
"Are there any casualties? Anyone injured inside?" asked a person next to Woo Jin-Chul. By his appearance, Min-Jae could tell he was a healer, brought in case there were injuries or situations requiring medical attention.
"No injuries. There are students on the 3rd and 4th floors. They're unharmed, though afraid. I tried my best—they're at least better than before," Min-Jae replied, his voice growing quieter. "But there are three casualties." He walked away toward the entrance as it started raining all of a sudden.
As the rain fell, droplets slowed and stopped just inches from Min-Jae's body, creating an invisible dome around him. The water slid down the curved barrier of Infinity, creating rivulets that seemed to defy gravity, flowing around him in perfect arcs before rejoining the rain below. It created an extraordinary sight—a perfectly dry space in the middle of a downpour, like he was walking inside an invisible umbrella.
The students began coming down from the upper floors, rushing out to find their parents waiting anxiously outside the school grounds. Parents embraced their children, tears mixing with rainwater. Several of them spotted Min-Jae and approached, bowing deeply.
"Thank you, Hunter Min-Jae!"
"You saved my daughter's life!"
"We can't thank you enough!"
Min-Jae nodded politely to each of them, accepting their gratitude with a slight smile, but he didn't linger. He walked away from the crowd, pulling out his phone as he did.
Twenty-three minutes had passed since he'd told the team he'd be there in thirty. Seven minutes left.
He checked the location they'd sent—a restaurant about fifteen minutes away by car.
He immediately took off, launching himself into the air with a controlled burst of energy.
Six minutes later, he landed smoothly in an alley near the restaurant. He walked out onto the street, spotted the place, and headed inside.
The B-Team was already seated at a large table near the back. They looked up as he entered, expressions ranging from relief to curiosity.
"There you are!" Son Ki-Hoon called out. "What happened? Where were you?"
Min-Jae pulled out a chair and sat down—naturally choosing the seat beside Han Semi. "Nothing much. Just an..." He paused, shaking his head slightly. "Whatever. Let's eat."
Han Semi glanced at him, noticing the faint tension in his jaw. But she didn't press.
"Alright then," Son Ki-Hoon said with a grin, raising his glass. "To Hunter Min-Jae's treat!"
The team cheered, and the atmosphere lightened as food began arriving at the table.
Min-Jae picked up his chopsticks, trying to push the image of those three students out of his mind.
---
After the meal ended, Min-Jae made the payment with his card. They all got up and left, and by then, the rain had stopped.
As they walked out, everyone went their separate ways after saying goodbye. Min-Jae and Han Semi were the only two left behind.
Suddenly, Min-Jae just remembered something. His expression shifted slightly, and he paused mid-step.
"What?" Han Semi asked, noticing the change.
"Well, I left my car behind at the raid location."
She blinked. "What do you mean? Then how did you get here to the restaurant from wherever you went?"
"I flew here at full speed."
She let out a short laugh, shaking her head. "Wow. You're such a lucky person. S-Rank hunter who can't be touched by anyone, can fly, and has celebrity status."
She mentioned the celebrity status mostly because when he'd walked into the restaurant earlier, everyone had recognized him. Four people had asked for autographs and photos before they even started eating. Though after that, no one had disturbed them.
"Well, I guess you could say it that way too," Min-Jae replied with a slight shrug.
"So what are you going to do, Mr. Perfect? Take a cab or just fly there to get the car?"
"Nope. Cab it is."
He glanced at her. "You wanna join? I mean, I'll be heading that way anyway."
Han Semi hesitated for just a second, then nodded. "Sure. I don't have anything else to do."
They walked to the main street and flagged down a cab. Once inside, Min-Jae gave the driver the location of the raid site.
The car started moving, and for a moment, they just sat in comfortable silence, watching the city pass by outside the window.
"So," Han Semi said after a while, "that technique you used during the raid today. The purple one. That was the same one from Jeju Island, right?"
"Yeah. Hollow Purple."
"It's insane. I mean, the dungeon boss just... vanished."
"That's kind of the point," Min-Jae said with a small smirk. "Less cleanup that way."
She laughed quietly. "Fair enough. Though I'm sure the mining team wasn't too happy about losing the materials."
"They'll survive."
They lapsed into silence again, this time a bit longer. The cab turned onto a wider road, and the traffic thinned out.
"You seemed a bit off earlier," Han Semi said, her tone more careful now. "When you came to the restaurant. Did something happen?"
Min-Jae didn't answer right away. He looked out the window, watching the buildings blur past.
"Just... a dungeon break at a school," he said finally. "Took care of it. But there were three students who didn't make it."
Her expression softened. "I'm sorry."
"Yeah. Me too."
She didn't push further, and he appreciated that.
After another fifteen minutes, the cab pulled up near the raid location. Min-Jae paid the driver, and they both got out.
His car was still parked where he'd left it earlier, untouched.
"I'll give you a lift," Min-Jae said, walking toward it.
"You don't have to—"
"I know. But I'm offering anyway."
She smiled slightly. "Alright. Thanks."
They got into the car, and Min-Jae started the engine. As he pulled out onto the road, Han Semi settled into the passenger seat, adjusting her seatbelt.
"By the way," Min-Jae said after a moment, "I sent your name as a recommendation for my team. To Guild Master Choi."
She turned to look at him, eyebrows raised. "You did?"
"Yeah. Told you I would."
"What did he say?"
"He was okay with it," Min-Jae replied, keeping his eyes on the road. "Though he did ask why I needed a healer."
Han Semi let out a short laugh. "Yeah, that makes sense. You're kind of... unkillable."
"That's what I told him too. But I said it'd be better to have someone I trust on the team. Plus, you're good at what you do."
She looked at him for a moment, a small smile forming on her face. "Thanks. That means a lot."
"Don't mention it."
They drove in silence for a bit, the city lights reflecting off the wet roads from the earlier rain.
"So when does this special team officially start?" she asked.
"Soon. Probably next week. Guild Master said he'd finalize the roster and get everything sorted."
"Got anyone else in mind for the team?"
"Not really. Told him even D-Ranks would be fine. I just need the headcount for regulations."
She raised an eyebrow. "That confident, huh?"
"It's not confidence. It's just... practical."
She chuckled. "Right. Practical."
After another ten minutes, they reached her location—a modest apartment complex on the quieter side of the city.
Min-Jae pulled up to the curb and put the car in park.
"Thanks for the ride," Han Semi said, unbuckling her seatbelt.
"No problem. See you around."
She opened the door and stepped out, then leaned back in for a moment. "And Min-Jae?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't beat yourself up too much about those students. You saved a lot more people today than you lost."
He gave a small nod. "Thanks."
She smiled, then closed the door and walked toward her building.
Min-Jae sat there for a moment, watching her go, then let out a long breath.
His phone buzzed.
He picked it up and saw a text from Cha Hae-In:
**Pick me up.**
A location was tagged below it.
He stared at the message for a second, then put the car back in drive.
"Guess I have somewhere to go," he muttered to himself, pulling back onto the road.
