The Apotheosis of Soul is the dominant metaphysical system that governs supernatural abilities after the cataclysmic event known as The Great Apotheosis—a reality-breaking moment that shattered the barrier between spirit and matter. In its wake, every human soul was seeded with a dormant spiritual inheritance known as an Echo.
★ Echo
An Echo is a soul-bound spiritual inheritance. Each Echo is tied to an ancient concept, archetype, or entity—such as fire, hunger, judgment, memory, or something far more alien. It grants abilities rooted in its essence and evolves as the bearer deepens their connection with it.
★ Echo Classification (Engine Type)
Echo Classification determines the innate potential of the Echo. It is fixed at the moment of apotheosis and cannot be changed.
Lesser Echo
Major Echo
Mythic Echo
Grand Echo
Prime Echo
Analogy: Think of Classification as your engine type. A Prime Echo is a V12 turbocharged prototype. A Lesser Echo is a factory-standard four-cylinder. Power potential, not skill, is what's being measured here.
★ Echo Tier (Gear Level)
Echo Tier measures how much of your Echo's power you've actually unlocked. Ascension through tiers requires growth, Understanding (Ken), and finally... the Veil Crucible.
Tier I: Latent Echo – The Slumbering Seed
Tier II: Ephemeral Echo – The Fading Touch
Tier III: Nascent Echo – The Glimmering Form
Tier IV: Resonant Echo – The Integrated Core
Tier V: Primal Echo – The Awakened Truth
Tier VI: Apex Echo – The Divine Synthesis
Analogy: Tier is your gear level. Even a V6 engine can't reach full speed in first gear.
★ Resonance Class (Driver Skill)
The Resonance Class is a public ranking system used by institutions to evaluate one's field-readiness and Echo combat integration.
Rank 0: Unbound
Rank 1: Initiate
Rank 2: Whisper
Rank 3: Resonant
Rank 4: Nexus
Rank 5: Architect
Analogy: This is your driver skill. You might own a race car, but you're still a liability if you can't drive it properly.
★ Ascension & Advancement
★ Tier Ascension
Echo Tier is advanced through a Veil Crucible - a personal metaphysical trial triggered when the user's Ken % reaches a threshold. The trial tests their readiness for deeper integration.
Ken % is tracked in the Codex, a metaphysical interface bound to the user during their first Apotheosis.
★ Resonance Advancement
Unlike Tier, advancing in Resonance Class requires external validation:
Field evaluations (missions, combat)
Institutional promotion (guilds, military, sanctums)
Training audits or Echo control assessments
★ Abjections
Some fail their Apotheosis.
Abjections are corrupted remnants of Echo-bearers who collapsed during their Crucible. They become twisted, often monstrous entities—either mindless or malevolently aware.
Abjection threat level is categorized by:
Echo Classification
Echo Tier before collapse
Example:
A Class 3 Minus II Abjection = A Mythic Echo-bearer who failed at Tier II.
★ Testament
A Testament is a physical relic imbued with great metaphysical resonance. Unlike soul-bound Echoes, Testaments exist independently - often left behind in ruins, warzones, altars, or vaults.
Once bound to a person, a Testament rarely accepts a new bearer unless passed willingly. In rare cases, when an Abjection is defeated, it may release a Testament.
★ Mystes
A Myste is an innate spiritual ability that manifests from the deepening bond between an Echo-bearer and their awakened soul. Unlike Testaments, which are physical relics, a Myste is purely internal - an expression of resonance that is unique to the individual. It often emerges during significant leaps in one's spiritual growth, typically upon ascending to a new Echo Tier.
