After a ten minute walk up a very long flight of stairs, the group finally reach the top of Logic Volcano.
"Man, would it have hurt to put in an elevator or escalator on this volcano?" asked Rusty.
"Oh, suck it up, Rusty." said Stella.
"At least we made it to the top." said Lincoln. The group looks around at a wide open area behind a gate made of hardened magma, along with a path lit up with lanterns going by a small shrine. Near the shrine were several rocks of various sizes; standing on the largest one was a bipedal foxlike Digimon, wearing a white robe that had a yin-yang symbol on chest, along with shoulder plates, purple pants, and a black and purple hat.
"What is that?" asked Zach, pulling out his Digivice and pointing it at the Digimon. "Taomon, Ultimate Level, Wizard Type, Data Attribute; special attack, Talisman of Light."
"So, that there's Taomon?" asked Liam.
"That's what the Digivice says." said Zach.
"Ultimate level? Sounds way stronger than Champion." said Clyde. The group then cautiously approached Taomon.
"Greetings, human children; there's no need to worry, I will not harm you." said Taomon.
"Hello, Taomon; my friends and I come to you, hoping you know a way for us to return to our world." said Lincoln.
"It is very surprising to see human children here in the Digital World." said Taomon. "However did you get here?" Lincoln explained to Taomon about how Lisa made a computer processor that ending up making his family's computer transport them to the Digital World.
"So, do you know a way for us to return to our world?" asked Lincoln.
"I am sorry to say, but I do not." said Taomon, getting groans of disappointment from the kids.
"You mean we went to all the trouble of getting up here for nothing?!" replied Rusty.
"I am sorry, children." said Taomon.
"But you have to know something!" said Lincoln. "Our Digimon had to battle a lot of opponents to help us get up here."
"Yes, and I'm impressed you made it past Monochromon, Flarerizeamon, Birdramon, and Kyuubimon." said Taomon.
"And Airdramon also." said Stella. Taomon tilted his head.
"Airdramon? I don't recall having an Airdramon testing others seeking me." said Taomon.
"Well, one did attack us." said Stella.
"Taomon; before Airdramon was destroyed, he mentioned a Titamon." said Lincoln.
"Titamon?!" exclaimed Taomon.
"Yeah, who is that?" asked Lincoln. Taomon turns around and looks up at the sky.
"Titamon; what are you up to?" Taomon asked. Unbeknownst to everyone, Vilemon was spying on them from behind a large rock.
At the shadowy area, NeoDevimon was looking at the projection of Lincoln, his friends, and Taomon.
"This is just great." said NeoDevimon, sarcastically. "Now Taomon knows that Lord Titamon is up to something."
"We have to deal with him before he tries to find us!" exclaimed MetalTyrannomon.
"Lord Titamon needs more time to energize his sword." said NeoDevimon.
"Airdramon may have failed, but DarkMaildramon will be more than a match for those kids." said Phantomon. Not far from Logic Volcano, a Digimon resembling a brontosaurus, its entire body covered in black armor, along with gold talons and face mask, also with crimson, tattered wings on its back, was flying towards Logic Volcano.
"DarkMaildramon, can you hear me?" NeoDevimon's voice says to it.
"Yes, Lord NeoDevimon." said DarkMaildramon.
"You are to head to the top of Logic Volcano and deal with Taomon and the human children that are currently in his company." said NeoDevimon.
"I can't fight Taomon!" shouts DarkMaildramon. "He's much more powerful than I am!"
"Leave him to me." said NeoDevimon. "Just deal with the human children."
"I don't understand." said DarkMaildramon. "What is it about these kids that makes you want me to waste time with?"
"Are you questioning my orders?" asked NeoDevimon in a menacing tone of voice.
"N-N-No, Lord NeoDevimon! I'll head for Logic Volcano right away!" said DarkMaildramon. It then starts flapping its wings until it lifts itself into the air and heads right for Logic Volcano.
Meanwhile at Logic Volcano, Lincoln, his friends, their Digimon, and Taomon were trying to figure out what to do next.
"Do you have any idea who might know how to get back to our world?" Lincoln asked Taomon.
"Very few here in the Digital World are as knowledgeable as I am." said Taomon.
"Very few?" replied Clyde. "You mean there might be someone who would know?"
"Perhaps." said Taomon.
"Who?" asked Stella. Before Taomon can answer, something above them blocks the sun, making them look up to see DarkMaildramon flying overhead.
"What is that?" asked Clyde. Liam takes out his Digivice and looks at it.
"That there's DarkMaildramon; it's a Champion Level, Cyborg Type, Virus Attribute; special attack, Dark Rain." said Liam. DarkMaildramon begins flying towards the group with its wings spread out.
"Dark Rain!" said DarkMaildramon. It begins flapping its wings until hundreds of small dark energy spheres comes out of its wings and towards the group.
"Incoming!" said Lincoln. Taomon suddenly jumps in between the group.
"Talisman Spell!" said Taomon. A dome that resembled the yin-yang symbol appeared around them; DarkMaildramon's attack crashes into it.
"Come out from there and battle me, humans!" exclaimed DarkMaildramon. Moments later, the dome disappears, showing the children's Digimon now in their Champion levels.
"Should we give this guy what it wants?" asked Lincoln.
"Well, he did ask for it." said Clyde.
"It should have said please." said Stella.
"Then lets teach this Digimon some manners." said Rusty. The kids Digimon charged at DarkMaildramon, who charges them right back, and thanks to its bulk, it plows right through them.
"Watch it, guys!" said Zach. "It looks pretty heavy!"
"We kind of figured that." said Golemon.
"I'll take care of this." said Taomon as he pulls out a large paintbrush from his sleeve; but suddenly, a voice yells out from above him.
"Guilty Claw!" shouts NeoDevimon as one of its arms stretches towards Taomon who blocks it with his brush.
"What is that?" asked Lincoln. Rusty takes out his Digivice and points it at the newcomer.
"That's NeoDevimon. Ultimate Level, Fallen Angel Type, Virus Attribute; his special attack, Guilty Claw." said Rusty.
"He doesn't exactly look nice." said Stella.
"That's one of Titamon's top generals!" said Taomon as he struggles to hold NeoDevimon's attack back.
"Hello, Taomon." said NeoDevimon.
"What are you doing here?" asked Taomon.
"To deal with the children who've been taking away some of our territory." said NeoDevimon.
"What do you mean?" asked Clyde.
"Remember Ogremon?" asked NeoDevimon.
"Green guy? Face only a mother would love?" replied Stella.
"Yeah, him." said NeoDevimon. "He was one of our weaker warriors; we couldn't believe when we learned he was beaten by children and low level Digimon." All of a sudden, DarkMaildramon charges at the kids' Digimon.
"Keep your distance!" said Lincoln. The kids' Digimon spread out to give each other more room.
"Let's take it out!" said Rusty.
"Horn Impulse!" shouts GeoGreymon as he charges at DarkMaildramon's side and rams it as hard as he could, making it stumble.
"Double Claw!" said Gaogamon as he leaps at DarkMaildramon and slashes it with the claws on his front paws, knocking it back.
"Smashing Kick!" said Leomon as he runs at DarkMaildramon and kicks it across its head, knocking it to the ground, but it gets back up and flies towards Leomon.
"Rolling Tackle!" said Reppamon as he does an aerial somersault towards DarkMaildramon's side and slashes it there with his blade tail, knocking DarkMaildramon to the ground.
"Powerful Punch!" said Golemon as he swings his fist upward, strking DarkMaildramon's chin, making it fall right onto its back.
"Sunshine Bazooka!" said Sunflowmon as she spits out lots of seeds with incredible speed and force at DarkMaildramon's side, making it roll towards the edge of a cliff.
Meanwhile, Taomon was trying to block NeoDevimon's Guilty Claw attacks with his paintbrush.
"You can't keep defending yourself forever!" said NeoDevimon.
"Then I'll go on the attack then." said Taomon as he starts painting a symbol in the air that starts glowing brightly. "Talisman of Light!" The symbol flies at NeoDevimon and hits him, knocking him back a little.
"Not bad, but not good enough to stop me." said NeoDevimon as he vanishes, then appears above Taomon and uses his tail to grab his paintbrush and yanks it out of his hands.
"I think Taomon needs help!" said Clyde as he notices his predicament.
"Then let's hurry and take this ugly excuse for a dinosaur down!" said Zach.
"Sulfur Plume!" said Golemon as he releases a large spray of superheated vapor out of the smokestacks on his back which catch onto DarkMaildramon's wings and sends it flying into a cliff, stunning it.
Meanwhile, NeoDevimon grabs Taomon by his robe and lifts him up into the air.
"Time to take care of you before you can cause me anymore trouble." said NeoDevimon. "Guilty Claw!" He jabs his claws into Taomon's chest, sending dark energies through its body.
"AUUUGGGHHH!" Taomon shouts in pain as his body fills with darkness.
"Taomon!" shouts Clyde.
"You won't get away with that!" said Gaogamon as he and the other kids' Digimon charge towards NeoDevimon.
"Deep Sorrow!" said NeoDevimon as dark winds and lightning comes out of his wings, blasting the kids' Digimon and reverting them back to their rookie forms.
"Guys!" shouts Lincoln as he and the other kids run to their wounded Digimon.
"Lincoln...NeoDevimon's too strong for us." said Agumon as Lincoln holds his claws.
"Excellent work, Lord NeoDevimon." said DarkMaildramon. "Shall we finish them off?"
"We?" replied NeoDevimon. "There is no 'we'."
"But Lord NeoDevimon..." Darkmaildramon started to say before NeoDevimon plunges one of his hands through DarkMaildramon's armor and into its body.
"If you couldn't handle these kids, then you're not worthy of serving me." said NeoDevimon as DarkMaildramon's body starts to disintegrate.
"He...took out his own friend." said Clyde.
"He was a servant; not a friend." said NeoDevimon who then looks at Taomon writhing in agony. "My work is done here." A black portal opens behind him and he enters it; it vanishes after that.
"Taomon, are you okay?" asked Clyde as he and the others run over to him.
"My body is fading fast." said Taomon as parts of his body become transparent.
"Is there anything we can do to save you?" asked Stella.
"I'm afraid this is the end for me." said Taomon. "But you can still save our world."
"But if NeoDevimon was too much for all our Digimon combined, then how can we beat this Titamon feller?" asked Liam.
"Lincoln, let me see your journal." said Taomon. Not wanting to waste Taomon's remaining time, he does as he's told and opens it to an empty page. Taomon does a hand sign, making light appear on it, and points it towards Lincoln's journal, making a beam come out and draw a map on it; on the map were six locations marked with different-colored spots.
"What's this map for?" asked Zach.
"The spots on the map show where you can each find artifacts that will help your Digimon partners evolve to their ultimate levels." replied Taomon.
"That sounds like something that can really help us out." said Lincoln. Taomon holds out a hand and a light blue aura forms around it; a portal appeared before them.
"This will take you all back to Floatia." said Taomon.
"Good; saves us the trouble of walking all the way back." said Rusty, making Stella elbow his ribs.
"Show some compassion, Rusty!" exclaimed Stella.
"Children; you must...stop Titamon...from accomplishing whatever...he's planning." said Taomon.
"We will." said Lincoln. With that, Taomon faded away completely, leaving the kids and their Digimon alone; they all bowed their heads in sorrow. Lincoln lifts up his head and looks at the portal Taomon left. "Guys; lets get back to Floatia. We can figure out what to do next."
"Okay, Lincoln." said Agumon.
"We're with you." said Clyde.
"For Taomon." said Liam. The kids and their Digimon walked into the portal and it vanishes afterward.
