I got out of the vehicle and lazily went to my room. I took off my dress and threw myself on the bed. Mom is something else; I went there hoping to get some information from her, but I ended up with nothing.

"He rented the car; it wasn't his. He left it after using it. The man must have anticipated we'd look for him," Julian explained.


"She didn't say much. She recognized the name, but that was it. She refused to give me more information."


"We can widen our search. Do you want us to keep looking? I'm positive we'll find him if we search hard enough," Logan suggested.


"She claimed he wasn't her ex-lover. I honestly don't know what to believe. That woman makes me overthink. I wish she could be more open."
